Summary: Good movie bad ending
Review: I'm eight years old. Today I saw Pay It Forward. I thought it was fabulous. It was funny and sweet. My favorite part was when Haley Joel Osment pretends to throw up using silly string. But one thing I thought was not appropriate was what happend at the end. I was about to cry at the end but I was too stunned.

Summary: three in a half actually
Review: this movie is uplifiting and depressing at the same time. some pepole might be put off by the ending but i wasnt. the performances were great. osment does not top his sixth sense performace but he is still great.waring to those who have not sceen it yet bring klenex. the ending is asad. but i will notr tell you why you have to see it for yourself.finally i have to say that if three lesser actors had the roles in the movie the movie would just be a smaltz feast. the actors are what makes the movie great.

Summary: Great acting meets emotional manipulation
Review: Pay it Forward is a great movie. Kevin Spacey, as usual, puts on a wonderfully touching and masterful performance. Helen Hunt, like Spacey, is sexier than ever and interprets her character very well. Haley Joel Osment keeps up the persona of the intelligent, loving kid that may type-cast him if he's not careful. I take great issue with the ending of the play, however. Everyone who sees this movie will know the moment when it crosses over from an honest, intelligent look at changing lives and the world to a sappy, emotionally manipulative cliche. The attempt to cash in on certain recent, very unfortunate, events in our country is unnecessary. A less extreme ending would have been more convincing. Nevertheless, Pay it Forward is worth seeing in the theater, not just from the couch.

Summary: Best Film of the Year
Review: Pay It Forward was the best film of the year. Although it is quite a depressing movie, it is handled very well by director Mimi Leder, and balanced with humor. The acting by Osment, Spacey and Hunt was great. Watch the movie very carefully-there is a lot of symbolism in maybe 50% of the scenes. Watch for: The name of the apartment center Spacey lives in, the lyrics to the Papa Roach song Osment listens to, and the scenes in which Spacey irons his shirt.

Summary: its gotta be watched
Review: Pay it forward is brilliant example of life. i absolutely love this film and have it on dvd myself. the way it approaches the problems we all encounter in life is amazing. when trevor, the young boy just reaching 7th grade, thinks up an ingenious an wonderful way to make good reach the entire world, we can empathise with his quest as he is left alone regularly by his alcoholic mother and has come from a very disturbing background. when his teacher proposes that the class partake in an assignment whereby they must change the world, trevor gets very involved. i'v heard of a lot of people saying that the end scene was 'pinched' from field of dreams an i would like to put it straight that the end scene is perfect for this film. although it tugs harshly on the emotion strings the ending is perfect in every way. a valuable message to be taken from this film is no matter how bad it seems, a shimmer of good and hope is always there. my advice to everone is watch this film. i guarentee you will not be disappointed. x

Summary: a great film with a wonderful cast
Review: Although I read very negative critics about this film, I actually liked it. It tells the story of boy, Trevor, who creates a project called "pay it forward" for his social studies class. It consists in a chain, in which one people should help other 3, and each of them should help 3 more and so on. The idea is approved by his teacher, played by the great kevin spacey, which happens to be one of the people chosen by Trevor to be helped. The other one is his own mother, played by helen hunt, who has alcohol problems and suffers with the violence of trevor's father, played by jon bon jovi. A reporter finds out about the pay it forward project and decides to follow the chain until he reaches the creator of it.

Well, this film is beautiful and has some good dialogs. The cast is wonderful and it surely makes the difference. I must admmit the movie is kind of sad and makes you cry 2 hours nonstop. This film is also very touching and clever, and will not please all types of viewers, but only those who reflect about their own lives and who are concerned about the world in which we live today. Helen hunt is great as the drunk mother and she has great scenes with kevin spacey, with whom she gets romantically involved. Jon bon jovi has a small part, but does not add much to this movie. It's a great choice for those who like drama.

Summary: I expected schlock, sugar and smaltz, not so! I LOVED IT!
Review: What a pleasant surprise this movie was! I avoided seeing it for awhile because of so many negative or so-so reviews I'd read and also because a friend told me the book was "sentimental and corny". But the movie was very believable and I can't help thinking that the only people who could fail to be moved by it would have to be hard-core cynics. Haley Joel Osmont proves his acting chops yet again (after his acclaimed his role in Sixth Sense), playing a middle-school student named Trevor who has a troubled home life, an alcoholic mother and an erratic, wayward father. When his new teacher, played by the superb Kevin Spacey, gives an imaginative class assignment, daring the students to "change the world" Trevor takes his homework to a new extreme, changing not only his life but that of his teacher. While parts of this movie do challenge the viewer's ability to suspend belief and seem somewhat unreal, it is a rare treat to see such a trio of talented actors come together for such a worthy idea. Don't be surprised to find yourself reaching for the tissues while watching this movie. I came to it with negative preconceptions and reluctance and was surprisingly moved and heartened by watching it. This is one I plan to buy and add to my permanent collection, worth seeing again and again.

Summary: Kevin Spacey Steals the Movie
Review: Truly a terrific film, "Pay it Forward" also features terrific performances by Academy Award Winners Kevin Spacey & Helent Hunt (Best Actor:American Beauty, Best Actress:As Good As It Gets) and Academy Award Nominee Haley Joel Osment (Best Supporting Actor:The Sixth Sense), Jay Mohr, and surprisingly Jon Bon Jovi. The idea of the movie is actually a pretty good one and also I need to say, I don't really like Haley Joel Osment. I liked him in :"The Sixth Sense" but that's about it and he was actually pretty good.
My favorite actor in the film however was Kevin Spacey. Spacey is truly a terrific actor, who almost never makes a bad movie. The movie is about Trevor(Osment) an 11 year old, who's Social Studies project is to try and help the world. He does this by helping a homeless man (Jim Caviezel, "The Passion of the Christ") and telling him to do favors for three other people. Trevor calls this paying it forward. Enter Eugene Simonet(Spacey) Trevors Social Studies teacher, who has horrible burn scars, who falls in love with Trevors mom
Arlene(Hunt). Arlene is a waitress in Las Vegas and a drunk who is not performing well as a mother. This is the setup of the film. Jay Mohr and Jon Bon Jovi co-star as a reporter trying to find out who started the "paying it forward" movement and Bon Jovi or Jovi or whatever plays Trevors dad. A-.
