Summary: I thought this movie was great.
Review: This movie not only depicted how high school boys act, especially Tweeder, but it showed how high school (at least in the south) really is. Although the accents were a little much, I thought it gave the actors a little charm. On another note, I wish it would of showed what happened between Mox and Jules a little more. Overall, however, I loved the movie and bought it as soon as it came available. I watch it every night.

Summary: DEFINITELY FOR TEENS
Review: This highschool football drama is another teen flick to be added to the list of successful highschool pictures over the last few years - She's All That, Cruel Intentions, Scream. This film is beyond enjoyable, for the guys there's testosterone, the forever remembered whip cream bikini scene, a hot strip club scen where the lead boys meet a familiar face and the looks of leading ladies Amy Smart and Ali Larter. For the girls there's James Van Der Beek (moving away from his Dawson character), Paul Walker (a blonde haired, blue eyed football stud) and Scott Caan (who bares all in another memorable moment). The flick follows Johnathan "Mox" Moxon (Van Der Beek) who has been a second string football player for a vast amount of the season, that is until town favourite Lance Harbour (Walker) is injured and it's Mox's turn to be the star quarterback. Also in the team, is the emmensly obeise Billy Bob (Ron Lester), party animal and sexually active Tweeder (Caan - who livens up the movie) and coloured player Wendell (Eliel Swinton) who believes he doesnt get the playing exposure he deserves because of his race. The only thing stopping the boys from having fun is hard hitting coach Bud Kilmer (Jon Voight). By the end of the film, each character evolves and as usual Kilmer gets what he deserves. The film is funny, touching, sexy and sport-packed for a night's entertainment that'll last long after this film is finished

Summary: a great teen flick
Review: Although unrealistic it portrays the football players well;trying to overcome being in a shadow,or your whole career being lost because of one game. I thought this movie was great because many teens can realate to being pushed into something they dont want,or going out and having a good time after the game. Should be seen by any teen!

Summary: Exciting and Hillarious
Review: Whether or not your agree with this movies portrayl of small town football life. The movie's sound track is fast paced, powerful and exciting. The movie is filled with jokes of my types, ranging from subtle one that most will not undertand to obvious ones that practically beat you over the head. Either way this movie is extremely entertaining and a joy to watch

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: I thought this movie was excellent. Recently graduating high school, I found it quite entertaining but not realisitic, face it, it's just a movie folks. But everyone knows someone like a character from the movie. It's appealing to anyone that has ever played football, but never got to be gods. Live vicariously with Varsity Blues.

Summary: Typical Teenage Rebellion Flick
Review: Again we have another "Teenager who wins out in the end" plot with a cool soundtrack and not much plot. The football sequences were better than most in this category, but this and the soundtrack are the only things going for this overrated teenie-bopper flick.

Summary: Can't wait to see it again!
Review: This movie was soo realalistic. It portrays how athletics especially football,is one of the most important issues in skools now a days. Most skools pride there football players and burden them with tryin to make them be the best they can be, even if they have medical issues such as a few of the characters did. The casting was great, and James Vanderbeek was outstandin! I highly recommend this movie to all teenagers such as myself. :)

Summary: Great drama flick, too bad the video quality SUCKS!
Review: This movie has everything a good movie needs: nudity, car chases, questioning of authority, lots of beer drinking, and football! The down side: hope you don't mind the video getting lighter, then darker, then lighter, etc. It's almost as if the "macro-vision" copy protection is so potent that you can barely watch the movie, let alone try to copy it on to VHS. I am an audiophile and videophile, so not everyone will notice the contrast changes, and the slew of digital artifacts. The content of the movie is, however, excellent! **** Highly recommend that you buy this on VHS instead of DVD. VHS is much more watchable.

Summary: UNREAL, VERY TRUE TO LIFE
Review: i play football in a small town a lot like west canan. so i can tell you that this movie hits the nail on the head by the way that they portrayed football players and coaches in small town texas. football is god at least 3 months out of the year, and so are the players. its a lot more high stakes than you would think. great movie, realistic story. I LOVED IT.
