Summary: Legends of the DULL -- ABSOLUTE WORST movie I've ever seen!
Review: Don't waste your time or your money on this movie. Brad Pitt is lame, the plot is stupid, and the movie is about 2 hours longer than it should be (literally!). When I saw this in a theater, my friend walked out on it and left me sitting there by myself. I stayed simply because I figured it had to get better. I was wrong. I think the only reason people like it is because Brad Pitt is nice to look at (though he comes across as being dumber than a doornail). If you want a good dramatic movie to watch, go for "Primal Fear" with Richard Gere and Ed Norton.

Summary: Misunderstood maniac
Review: I find the interperetation of Pitts character flawed. With influence of the Native American a driving force in Pitts characters life and the early introduction to modern warfare, I find it entirely believable that he would reject modern social behavior. Conversly, his brother was pushed to help others and found his peace in politics. Probably influenced most by having been wounded and submitting to the care of others. Throughout the film, each crisis in their lives lead to another step into the tendancies they find relief. Eventually the two brothers have nothing in common except the desire of the same woman, refusing to give up the one tie that connects them to their more innocent youth.

Summary: spellbinding!
Review: I must admit I've never been much of a fan of Brad Pitt, but in this film he is super. So are Aidan Quinn, Anthony Hopkins (as usual), and Henry Thomas. To those who don't understand Tristan's (Pitt's) behavior, you must realize he is the true noble savage, having been virtually raised by the great One Stab, a native american family member. The narration by One Stab ties the vast expanse of this epic film together and makes all the difference between the masterpiece that it is and the dopey melodrama that some have called it. This film combines elements of "Jeremiah Johnson", "A River Runs Through It", and "Dances With Wolves" with a moving tragic romance. The Big Sky scenery is majestic. Pitt proves he is a big-league actor. If you haven"t seen it yet, please do; you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Corn
Review: Looks promising at first but quickly degenerates into overblown, romance novel style ridiculousness. Brad Pitt's character is especially laughable - a free spirited wildman who ties back his ponytail, enlists to fight in WWI, and cuts the heart out of a dead German soldier.

Summary: An awsome movie
Review: I think this is one of the best, if not the best, drama movie I have ever seen. I think the plot and theme of the story was awsome, as well as the performance of the actors. I think all of the actors performed superbly. One of the few movies you can see more than once.

Summary: What's all the FUSS about?
Review: Legends of the Fall makes much attempt to be good, but fails within the first hour. Sorry, but it really doesn't live up to the hype. It started off fine with a widower living with his 3 sons in the woods of the New World. Time passes on and the youngest brother brings home a wife - and this is where it goes downhill. The story became so wishwashy and soap opera like, you start to wonder what they are trying to accomplish with this movie. The fiance falls for all three brothers and the middle brother, Tristan (Brad Pitt) goes around looking like he badly needs a shower and acts like a wild animal half the time. It's not that I have anything against Brad Pitt normally, it's just that his role in this film is really awful. Years pass in the movie, and the plot goes absolutely haywire. Julia Ormond who showed a strong preformance in the beginning turns out to be tossed aside and throws in an act so tiring and finished that you wonder if she really needs to be there at all in the last two hours. Anthony Hopkins turns in a strong, but again, uneeded performance as the sons' father. By the end, the plot is so ridiculous with deaths here and there and a stupid treatment with Brad Pitt's character. But the movie itself has some strong points - in the sets and cinemetography (which won a well-deserved oscar).

Summary: It is probably my all-time favorite
Review: I could not wait to buy this film, and I must admit to watching it probably 100 times. While I loved (and bought) the soundtrack, and was a sucker for the scenery, 100 times has got to add up to more than that. Legends has a true turn of the century ambiance, with the characters tragically in love, and so often dying young. At the time the film is set, this is not melodrama, folks. It is life. There is a strong native american current running through Legends, and that is another reason I liked it. If you like histry, action, romance and beauty of every kind there is, Legends of the Fall is the film for you.

Summary: Very Good Movie With Great Cinematography.
Review: Legends of the Fall is a movie I have watched several times, and I can still continue to glean things from it. The cinematography is very beautiful in this film. Anthony Hopkins and Aidan Quinn truly did great jobs in their roles. The movie never slumps or gets boring. This movie deals with relationships most of all. Tristan is wild and adventuresome, and Aidan Quinn's character is less wild and more refined. All the different characters in this movie are very interesting. This is a movie that I can watch again and again. Recommended.
