Summary: The best movie I ever sawed!
Review: This is a really great movie because you cant even tell that Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick thomas are in the movie. All you can see and feel and hear are Sara and Derek. This might be an updated version of Romeo and Juliet but it totally rocks and you gotta go see it! I mean how the movie conveys that anyone can break the racial barrier if they try and Sara and Derek blew the barrier straight into the next millenium!

Summary: A Touching Film!
Review: I absolutely loved this in the theatres, and the DVD is even better. It includes deleted scenes that really bring Kerry Washington's character to life.

Also, the director's commentary is pretty good (better than some I've watched). It does get a little monotonous, but if I hadn't taken the time to listen to it, there's a lot I would have missed. Apparantly the final cut of the movie ran 3 hours 21 minutes! It also helps you to understand a lot of the underlying themes in the movie (ie. getting from one place to another, trains, etc.). I'd definitely recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoyed the movie, and anyone who loves hip hop.

Summary: The Best Movie Ever!!!
Review: This is the greatest movie I have ever seen!! I went out to buy it moments after watching it for the 100th time!! Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas are phenomenal actors, so together they can't be beat!! The story is very well written. The music and dancing made me go out to the store and buy both cds and learn the dances from the movie. I don't think I will ever see a movie as good as this one. You'll be sorry if you miss your chance to see it because everyone will be talking about it. They already are!!! I strongly suggest you see this fabulous movie. It's the greatest!!!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I recently viewed "Save The Last Dance" twice. I found the movie incredibly enjoyable, and every performance was right on. There were some cliches, however, I enjoyed how the characters held together as well as the quick dialouge. The only problem I had with this movie is in the scene where Sara has a nervous breakdown after the ballet, Sara tearfully tells Derek that her dream was to be a prima ballerina and Derek asks if her dream is stil to go to Julliard. Sara had never actually said she wanted to go to Julliard she just said she and her mom dreamed of ballet success which easily could have included institutes other than Julliard, so Derek must be telepathic, which was never again mentioned in the movie. Otherwise the movie was magnificent.

Summary: the "new" dirty dancing
Review: After watching this movie, I felt a more appropriate title may have been "Dirty Dancing 2"..I am not much for romantic movies, but this one touched me the same way Dirty Dancing did. I think this one was much better because it was actually set in modern times, and ALL the actors did a wonderful job. Julia Styles and Sean Patrick Thomas were much better than 5 stars. The plot in the beginning was a little on the "white girl goes to the ghetto" cliche, but it turned around quickly and redeemed itself. Keep in mind that I gave this 5 stars because I hardly, if ever (or if my wife forces me by gunpoint) watch romantic movies. I loved it, and I'm pretty sure anyone who would be interested in this movie would feel the same !

Summary: Missing an Element
Review: While the plot of the movie was a good one (how do the two lead characters deal with the issues surrounding their lives and still find each other), I felt that overall the movie was missing something. The two main actors, both playing well in their roles, never really connected to me. This lack of connection made the entire relationship feel forced to me. Without that connection, the movie was missing an essential element to me.

Summary: The BEST movie yet!
Review: In just 2 days, I've seen this movie 3 times. I usually never see movies twice, unless I REALLY like it, and I guess this was one of those movies. My favorite thing was how they used ballet and hip-hop together. After seeing the movie, I can't stop dancing. Now, I am going to take ballet, and I owe it all to "Save The Last Dance"!

Summary: A movie of the times
Review: This is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas portray their characters in a way no one else could have, which makes the story more realistic. The way that all the issues are intertwined is fantastic, and the movie has a flare that no other before it has ever had. This movie deserves more credit than it received from reviewers, because it was a bold movie with a strong message.
