Summary: Most Amazing Movie To Arrive Since "Saving Private Ryan"
Review: Roberto Benigni might have been humorous, but Edward Norton is the actor that truly deserved the Oscar. His wonderful performance ranges everywhere from frightening to compassionate, disturbing to emotional. "AHX" is the most shocking, moving, and simply amazing movie to come out of Hollywood since the Best-Picture-deserving "Saving Private Ryan" of last summer. Yes, the language and motivations of the characters will shock all who watch, but this movie will undoubtedly stay with everyone who watches it.

Summary: I WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Review: AHX IS A GREAT MOVIE!!! IT IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, FROM THE MOMENT THE MOVIE STOPPED I COULD NOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT , AND ITS DEEP MESSAGE. i HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE NUMOROUS TIMES NOW, AND EVERYTIME I WATCH IT, IT STILL SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE. WHEN I FIRST STARTED WATCHING THIS MOVIE, IM ASHAMED TO SAY THAT I HAD A LOT OF THE SAME NAZI IDEAS THAT NORTON HAD, BUT BY THE END OF THE MOVIE IT MADE ME REALIZE HOW FOOLISH IT WAS TO HATE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT, AND THAT BEING ANGRY ALL THE TIME WILL GET US NO WHERE. THIS MOVIE IS SIMPLY A BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ACTING MASTERY WHICH I WILL NEVER GET SICK OF.

Summary: Amazing from beginning to end
Review: Chillingly realistic. Insight into the mind of what troubles America today. It isn't pretty. It is graphic and intense which keeps the tone of the move through out this amazing movie. Racisim today is a glossed over problem because it does not directly effect most Americans today. We don't see it so it must not be there. This movie made me think a lot of how I look at and treat other people. That is what we should ask of movies today. Not only do we need mindless entertainmet but we sometimes need to have our eyes opened up and see what really goes on around us. Truely gripping and compelling. The use of black and white flash backs was quite interesting. Well acted and the direction is great. Ed Norton is amazing. A gifted actor. Looking for good things from him in the future. A very well crafted movie. A real must see.

Summary: Am i the only one who saw thru this garbage?
Review: Ok, i admit, i was totally blown away by the shock factor of the first half of this movie. Gutsy, Gutsy, Gutsy. But after that, it totally falls apart. It goes from the shocking, disturbing truth to the ultimate hollywood cliche: "Guy realises he's done wrong with his life and wants to make everything right." This movie turned cheeseball in a matter of seconds. Pointless scenes litter the last half of the movie. The writers cheap attempt at trying to explain Edward Nortons character's hatred was a joke and totally unnecessary. Couple that with the predictable ending and you have a typical sub-par hollywood movie. It's really too bad too, cuz the first hour is amazing. One thing is for sure though, Edward Norton is one of todays best young actors.

Summary: good but NOT Great
Review: The movie fails to tap in to the realism of American nazism. It might as well have been a story about a redeemed young man trying to save his troubled young brother; because that's exactly what it's about. The movie has very little to do with Nazism, let alone racism. It's quite a conventional movie, filled with pseudo-innovative creativity. It lacks realism. It wasn't poorly written, but the writing wasn't all that great either. Edward Norton's character is more like the screenwriter's representative than a real live person. This movie was made more for its message than for its story. It's worth renting but not worth buying.

Summary: excellent but not perfect
Review: This was truly an amazing movie. The night i rented it i watched it twice, back to back. It was inspiring, thoughtful, and critical of today's society. I don't think that everyone should be so quick to dismiss Tony Kaye's complaints against the studio though. I agree with the studio for not allowing him to put the name Humpty Dumpty on the credits as director, but it is quite obvious that the film could have been better. For one thing, a few scenes stand out as being poorly edited, and often too many camera angles are used for scenes that don't require it. As an aspiring filmmaker myself, I understand how this angered him, and the film truly could have been even better than it was. The acting and directing and the transitions from black & white to color were excellent and deserving of recognition. Edward Norton should have won the Academy Award for his role. I saw all the other movies with actors nominated for best actor and none of them even come close to the power and depth of his performance. Roberto Benigni for Best Actor? He may be entertaining and "cute", but he shouldn't have even been nominated for the award. It is a travesty that Norton didn't win and shows us how corrupt and ignorant the Academy Awards are. The film itself should have been nominated for more awards, but the Oscars only look for big names and big budgets. It really is too bad that they don't recognize a good film when they see one. Anyhow, this film could have been one of the best ever if Kaye had his say in the final cut of the film. I would have given it ten stars, if possible then, but for now I'll have to settle for only five. Overall, an excellent mix of character development and action, something we rarely see these days. A great film.

Summary: A Recommended Film
Review: I knew that this would be a very interesting movie even before I viewed it. Edward Norton does a flawless job of acting the part of a reformed ex-Nazi skinhead. Some of the best acting I've seen in a long time. I'm sure that some see this movie as risky and controversial, but it only shows how a lot of people in this world really are. The movie is quite disturbing in a lot of the scenes, but that doesn't make this a bad film. One of the best films I've seen in a long time. Edward Norton did a fantastic job playing his part. The DVD has some deleted scenes as a bonus. I wish there would have been a Director's Commentary on it, but oh well. Recommended.

Summary: the truth is in here
Review: A couple of days after seeing AHX, I got a letter from a friend to whom I had recommended the film and who lives in Venice Beach. His home had been vandalized by a black gang. He was being punished for the crime of being white. And he said in the letter that this action was "shades of AHX." I agree with the viewer who said the film should be shown in high school. Maybe, just maybe, it could do some good, could stop some of the violence and hatred before it is too late. Yes, Norton should have gotten the Academy Award; his performance was over the top. And the film is a very important one which deals with a terrible reality which must be addressed because it is tearing at the very fabric of American society. I could go on and on about the film, but my advice is to buy it and watch it and tell your friends about it. It is one of the most important statements ever made on film.

Summary: Powerful, Horrifyingly Real, A Wake-Up Call
Review: I must say this film is terrifying in the fact that it shows us the hate in shocking detail that is taking are country down the hole. A film that all young blacks and whites should see together; to realise that hate is wrong. What can we accomplish from hating? What can we do? Learn and then unlearn. Erase the hate. A superb film.
