Summary: Better than anticipated, uprising Forlani- watch out!
Review: At first I was hesitant to see the movie because several people told me it dragged on and on and Brad Pitt was in it, who I am not very fond of but as I learned more about it something intriegued me about it so a friend and I went one night. From the opening scene, I was captivated by the plot and by the stunning perfomances by Hopkins who has long been a favorite of mine, Pitt who was very convincing as death himself, (a rare, but deserved, praise from me about him), and especially Claire Forlani who I think We'll all hear more about later after this role. I am not one for movies with great special effects or Gen-X movies which seem to be the trend lately, but I really go for movies with outstanding plots and especially deep dialogue which jogs my mind and makes me really think about what the actors are saying as well as gets they're point across in a mature fasion- the modern "as if's" don't cut it with me. The movie had both the plot and the dialogue and won me over. After the viewing, I didn't complain about the length because i hadn't even noticed! What a great movie, I tip my hat to Brest and everyone involved for their great job

Summary: they don't make 'em like this anymore...........
Review: this film is a top notch class act from it's opening frame till it's last! it has a sharp and clever screenplay, beautiful photography, a lovely score, and above all a magnificent peformance from anthony hopkins, as usual. brad pitt does probably his best work to date in this fine film. claire folani is lovely and a fine actress. the film is long, and maybe could have been told in a little less time, but the director had a lot of vision here, and what he gives us is a stunning, three dimensional and very well rounded film of rare beauty and so much class, i realized they don't make them like this anymore. pity! see it alone or with someone you love, curl up and be prepared to be swept along. the photography and colors are supreme as is the dolby digital transfer. a terrific film that will go tp the very top of the charts as word of mouth spreads about what a wonderful film it is. bravo to all, but especially to mr. hopkins-truly one of our greatest actors of all time; such a commanding presence. he, like the film, is awesome!

Summary: The movie compells you to feel.
Review: The movie is sad but satisfying. The stars gave strong performances and the story line was carried out well. My husband and son both cried along with me - and, the fact that they stayed in the room with me, was testimony, since they never watch a "girl flick."

Summary: Brad can lick my spoon of peanut butter any time!
Review: I really enjoyed this movie. I thought that the ending was a bit different. I like the fact that he came back, but all that did was stir up to many questions for me. Brad can lick my peanut butter spoon anytime.

Summary: A Simply Wonderful Film
Review: There is nothing negative to say about this film. Pitt's role as Mr. Black was, perhaps, his best yet. The cast was brilliant! The setting was astonishing! I would like to voice my approval to Brest, his film was breathtaking!

Summary: Don't mind the bad box office reviews
Review: Hollywood had the tendency to compress movies into a 2 hour film for the sake of pleasing the crowd. "Meet Joe Black" is a great movie and 3 hours just about enough to contain this epic romantic comedy.

Summary: Brilliantly acted and beautifully told
Review: Having never seen a Brad Pitt movie, Meet Joe Black took me by surprise. The chemistry between Brad Pitt and Claire Forlani was more powerful than any I've ever seen. It was amazing that Brad Pitt could play DEATH with such an air of innocence. The peanut butter scene had me in stitches. The love evident between Death and Susan jumped off the screen making the final scene at the birthday party when Susan realized who Joe was all the more heartbreaking. Overall MJB was incredible.

Summary: THE BEST DISC AVAILABLE IN TERMS OF VIDEO QUALITY!!!!!!!!!!
Review: At first I was extremely surprised that it was released practically one week before it was supposed... And guess what : I own seventeen DVD's and its the HIGHEST video quality I have ever seen!!!!!! And the sound is an absolute delight, especially in the french dubbling!!! The soundtrack will make your speakers explode, even if it's not an action movie!!! Believe me, although there's some negative reviews about the length, ok they could have cut approximately 30 minutes, but not more and what remains is an extraordinary movie that is worth every penny and shows us all the powerful possibilities of the DVD dual layer format!!!!!!

If you love romantic movies, don't hesitate : it's truly THEATER QUALITY, with some very brilliant and rich colors!!!!!!!

Summary: Deeply Moving!
Review: I had high expectations for Meet Joe Black and I have to say they were fulfiled after seeing the movie. If you enjoy good acting, a great romantic and comedic storyline, then this you will like this film. I have to admit that at times the film tended to get a little long, but just as it starts to drag something comes along to pick up the storyline with a new twist. If you can get through the film, the finale will leave you in goosebumps. You won't be dissapointed.

Summary: The Real Best Picture of the Year - 1998
Review: The entire audience was enraptured with this movie. After three hours, the only disappointment was the movie had to end. Brad Pitt was phenomenal in wearing the face of death. Like Sense and Sensibility or Dangerous Liaisons (another really spectacular movie), the subtleties were unfortunately unappreciated by many.
