Summary: If you didn't like it, you didn't pay attention
Review: I am delighted that there are so many intense and sincere people out there that had the brains and sincerity to enjoy a film of such integrity. Aside from the fantasy, this movie is one to lose yourself in. The musical score is one of the finest ever recorded, and matches the scenes perfectly. Be warned, I did not like this film the first time that I watched it (that is because I was messing around the house and not paying real attention) When I finally did sit down and watch and listen, I had 3 hours of intense pleasure. I have watched this film now no less than 30 times, and every time that I watch it, I find something more to enjoy. Both of the scenes with the Island woman are fantastic! and bear a true realization of life and love. I think that to miss this film is the same as missing other greats such as Dances With Wolves, Braveheart

Summary: A gorgeous masterpiece!
Review: "Meet Joe Black" is an absolutely amazing film! The acting is great all around, and the cinematography is truly stunning. The story is terrific, and Martin Brest's directing is superb. Its 3 hours will be too long for casual viewers, but open-minded viewers will undoubtedly find "Meet Joe Black" as wonderful.

Summary: Meet death...on vacation
Review: Interesting movie with a different twist. Not your everyday movie. Death(Brad Pitt)comes to take the life of Bill(Anthony Hopkins) and is so overcome with his life he decides to take a closer look. So he lowers himself to a man, taking the identity of Joe Black and moves into Bill's life, business, home and family. And as long as he'll share life with death, death will allow him to live. Death gets more than he bargains for when he falls deeply in love with Bill's younger daughter Susan (Claire Forlani)and finds himself feeling every human emotion including love, sex, sorrow, success and even compassion. Death learns of a love you can not go through life with out, of life fullfilled without regrets...what will he do now....watch this incredible movie about love, success, romance, power and compassion and find out for yourself. In a touching hospital scene Joe Black says he is not the devil or evil. He is from the otherside an angel of death. The entire cast was perfect. I enjoyed this movie and bought the DVD version. Treat yourself to a good movie...long but moves right along. Worth your time.

Summary: Nicely done
Review: Ah...Hopkins is great again. He manages to put down his characters with such skill. I do like Brad Pitt but I must say, he never seems very different in his roles (except in Seven Years in Tibet). The same way of speech I think is what it is. But nonetheless, he is good. The movie is fairly long but I didn't really notice it. It didn't drag one bit. The pictures are really nice (watching how rich people live always is enlightning isn't it) the people are beautiful, the story is gripping. The beginning is a bit of shocker but things turn out for the best in the end. At least rent this one! Must see!

Summary: Easily the best movie of the 90s
Review: Meet Joe Black is an extremely well put together film. The actors in this film are brilliant and this is displayed thoroughly through their characters. The storyline was great and it was a truly amazing film. The best I've seen in a long, long time.

Summary: long-winded&boring
Review: aside from Sir Anothny Hopkins who is the only true actor in this film this is a pure Vanity mess.Brad Pitt is way overrated.he doesn't add anything to this Long-winded&boring film.this is what's wrong with films today.only special films deserve 3 hours or more not movies that can be done in two hours or less.

Summary: Well Worth your Time
Review: This movie is a keeper! Rent it first, like I did, but then, buy it! Watch it anytime you need reminding about living life to its fullest! Yes, it is long, and no, it is not for children, but it is worth the 3 hours. Get a sitter for the little ones, make some popcorn, get some kleenex, and be prepared! Don't be in a hurry with this movie, it dictates its own pace and demands your full attention. Enjoy!

Summary: Your....Your....Your........Joe
Review: This is definitely the worst film Anthony Hoplins and Brad Pitt have ever done. The most contrived, stiff, pretentious film I ever saw. Yes, I sat through the 3 hours. Terribly cliched dialogue, and the daughter cries crocodile tears through the whole film. Brad Pitt's character is Mr. Death, and the film asks you to relate to and empathize with Mr. Death and asks you for tears during the Spielbergian violin well ups. Every tape of this film should be burned.
