Review: This is the greatest movie I have ever seen. The character development and the story unfolds beautifully. The cinematography is incredible, especially the use of color. It is harsh at times helping you feel what the characters are going through. If you have kids who you think might get in trouble when they get older just make them watch this movie. They'll never commit a crime!

Review: This movie has to be one of the best movies ever. Just for a movie to be so involving, it feels like you know the characters and you actually care what happens to them. I found the movie very inspirational and the ending could be one of the best ever. It made me feel good and I actually felt good for a long time after seeing it for the first time(I watched it once a week for close to two years!!!)

The movie keeps you engrossed at all times with all the different stories going on. I bought a movie poster of this film and have it framed and on my wall. Review: Shawshank takes it to another level and sets the standard for movie-making. An excellent drama that seemingly tells the story of Andy...when in fact it's really Red's story. Masterfully done. It centers around an innocent man triumphing over violence, sexual abuse, and emotional and spiritual devastation that haunts his prison-bound existence. Robbins and Freeman move the viewer with subtleties and friendship and give the performances of their careers, making one of the best duos in movie history. A must see for any one who understands the lows and highs of life.

Review: I originally was told about this movie by a friend who was in awe at the fact that I hadn't seen it yet. "You will never be the same again," she said. "Oh, Please," I thought. It had been ages since I had seen a movie that was OVERALL superb. My friend was right. This movie has a message about hope, freedom, and the will to survive in the midst of hardship. HOPE. That was the message intended and that was given. Morgan Freeman was superb. His performance was Oscar worthy, and Tim Robbins was his best since The Player. This movie is tough to watch at times, but its message alone makes it worth seeing it.
