Rating: Summary: Master piece Review: I don't have words to express the feeling you get when you see Shawshank Redemption. It is an awsome and touchy drama, superbly directed and acted. Tim Robbins and Morgan freeman were great. I am amazed how come any movie could have won an oscar award in front of Shawshank Redemption. Both Tim Robbins and Morgan freeman could have easily won the best actor award in this movie. This movie is a solid prove that in Hollywood awards depends on politics rather than acting or film. May be it is time to change the way Hollywood distributes academy awrad, what about an online survey like amazon.com(isn't we are living in a democratic country!!!)
Rating: Summary: Hands down, the best movie of all time. Review: Sometimes I wish I could go back and experience this movie for the first time, and sometimes I'm glad that I've seen it twenty times already. I'm always finding new things to love, and the movie never fails to amaze me. This movie is simply, well made, well acted, and an all around great examlple of what good movie making can produce.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the most beautiful movies ever made! Review: I love every single moment of this movie - I wouldn't change a frame. Frank Darabont did a marvelous job in telling this story. The film looks wonderful, and the performances are truly stunning. Tim Robbins is convincingly sympathetic, yet strong as the wrongly jailed Andy Dufresne. However, my favorite element of this movie is Morgan Freeman's performance - especially his narration that tells the bittersweet story. His voice is so richly textured, and soulful, you can hear in every word as he relays this story the profound depths of his experiences in Shawshank, and the happiness his friendship with his dignified and graceful friend Andy Dufresne has brought him. It is quite a powerful message to see a man who has given up hope begin to dream again. Everyone goes through times in their lives when they are paralyzed by fear. But this film shows us so eloquently that paradise awaits us if we break out of the prison that fear has the power to create.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Phonomenal Review: I put off seeing this film for many years because it somehow got into my head that I would not like it. It is without a doubt the best, warmest and most compelling movie I've ever seen - I cried at the end!!!! How Forest Gump scooped all the oscars this was up for is a total mystery. I have watched it at least 10 times and will watch it again for many years to come - a masterpiece
Rating: Summary: The Best Movie EVER!!!!!!! Review: I have seen thousands of movies, all of varying sorts, and this is hands down the very best. Anyone that enjoys movies should have this in their collection, period. I can't wait for the DVD.
Rating: Summary: Only a few movies can you watch over & over. Here's one Review: Every once in a while does Stephen King hit a home run with a story so real and uplifting, that you realize that he's about more than "things that go bump in the night". This story is told so artfully that one can get so involved that to see it end is bittersweet. You are glad to see such storytelling is possible, and sad to see it end.
Rating: Summary: Best movie ever made Review: I envy those of you who will experience the magic and power of Shawshank for the first time.Simply put, this is the greatest movie of all time.
Rating: Summary: Great movie about the human spirit Review: Let's face it, most of what we see on t.v. and esp on the news, is downright negative. This is a movie about hope and how that hope is found within the human spirit, even in the depths of a prison. The movie really just gives faith that the world is just and in the end what is right will win out. This is a must see for anyone anywhere because it'e themes are so univeral, watch it, buy it, love it.
Rating: Summary: Best Movie Ever!!!! (Yes Even Better Than Titanic!) Review: Amazing! The best movie to be made in a long time. Outstanding story and acting. Morgan Freeman only proves he is the greatest actor alive!
Rating: Summary: One of the Very Best Ever!! Review: This movie never fails to affect me. The story is extremely compelling with no extraneous dialogue. The ending never fails to satisfy and proves the ability of a man who uses his head will always triumph in the end. This is definitely my all-time favorite.
