Review: i don't know if i could add much to what everyone else has said, but this is a classic film about hope. it shows really well that no matter how tough or how degrading things can be, the hope of a better in the future is always there. i love watching this movie all the time and i recommend it to everyone out there.

Summary: Best Movie Ever
Review: I am always moved by movies that have perfect endings, and this defines "Perfect Ending". I have always loved Steven King, and this movie was based on his best novella ever. I was so surprised, because all of the movies that my mom recommends to me out romantic-comedies, and I hate those movies. This movie was one that I decided to watch for the first time by myself. The last thing my mom told me before I escaped to my room to watch it was "Enjoy", and then a pleasant smile. Ever since, it has been my all-time favorite movie, by far, and one that has no flaws. Words cannot do justice to this film, but I just think that it is a true pleasure to be totally satisfied after watching a movie. The acting was great, the cinematography was outstanding, the musical score was perfect, the direction was awesome, and the movie straight out ruled. I will never like another movie more than I like this one. It is just too bad that the critics are too cynical and have no real feelings for movies, otherwise this would have swept the 1994 Oscars. I believe that it should have won all of the major awards. When a friend asks me to recommend a good movie, I always just reply with three words, "The Shawshank Redemption"

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: Ok this movie begins with a man Andy Dufrane ( played by Tim Robbins ) who is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover in cold blood. We never find out if he really did it, but personally i think he didn't. He is sentenced to life at Shawshank prison in the new england area. The time of the story is from the early 1950's - late 1960's. He meets a man named simply as Red ( played by Morgan Freeman ) who helps him out and becomes close friends with Andy. After serving almost 20 years of his sentence Andy tunnels through the walls to freedom and lives his dream of living next to the Pacific Ocean. Red soon comes up for parole and Andy leaves him some money and a letter at a secret spot to let him know that he would like his help starting a business on the west coast.

Review: When I read the book by Steven King, I thought that it was very good. When I saw the movie, however, I couldn't believe how much they had improved opon it. The script was good, but the best part by far was the acting.

Review: I remember watching the last five minutes of the Shawshank Redemption on cable TV to watch the movie played after it. I didn't think much about it till I was out shopping the next month or so and the video of the Shawshank redemption was on special at a very low price, so I bought it. It wasn't really meant for me, but for my dad who likes those dramatic-jailbreak movies. That night everyone was out doing something, so I decided to watch it.

First off, I cannot watch a full movie by myself as I tend to wander off and do something else without even realising it.

Secondly I really didn't like what I assumed was "this kind of movie".

Well I watched it right through and cried too! I love this movie and I have forced my entire family to watch it over and over again. My younger sister thinks it's close to torture but since she is only a 11 year old, it's taken like water off a ducks back. The movie is a smooth flowing masterpiece that keeps your brain working at it's cleverly thought out story and plot twists. I love it, it's definetly one of my all-time favourite movies!

Review: A story about friendship,freedom,revenge and hope. Set in the 40's and happened in Shawshank Prison. The story showed how a banker Andy(Robbins)who was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing of his wife and her lover despite he cried for innocent. There were many question unanswered... "Did he murder of his wife or not?" "Was he falsely-convicted?"

The main story showed how he 'survived' in jail.His special friendship with "Red"(Freeman). This movie excel in it's character development and thrilling plot. It has a brilliant twist in the end.

One of the best work from Stephen King. Great adaptation from the same name novel. Even better with the class of actors and the sincerity of this production.Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman were perfect for their roles and showed great rapport.

Frank Darabont's did a marvellous task in putting this intriguing story together.

This movie filled with dark and violence scenes it also depicted vivid prison life. Simply astonishing. One of the best movie ever made.

Review: Loved it! Loved the screenplay, loved the actors, loved the cinematography, loved the score! This is simply one of those movies that i can watch over and over and feel as moved as the first time that i watched it, and how often can someone truly say that about a movie. I could continue to write wonderful things about this movie but instead will simply say "buy it you won't regret it".
