Review: Morgan Freeman and TIm Robbins best performance. Best movie I have ever seen. If you consider yourself a movie fan you have to own this movie. I wish I could give this movie more stars than 5 cuz it deserves it.

Summary: My all time favorite movie!
Review: This movie, despite what the critics had to say about it is the best movie I have ever watched. It showed and brought to life so many emotional struggles and discoveries. Friendship, trust, love, betrayal.. just to name a few. It to me showed the true power of friendship despite the worlds/systems influences. It is a must buy.. must watch film that is truly one of our nations best dramas!

Review: All of those people who say that this film is just mediocre (you know who you are): what the hell is wrong with you? This is by far Stephen King's best movie and it is right up there with the 1994 Academy Award winning movie Forrest Gump. Tim Robbins gives the performance of a lifetime. The movie itself might not have been quite as good as Gump, but he definately had a better performance than Hanks (who as you know won best actor). And Morgan Freeman is outstanding. If you think that this movie is just mediocre, then watch this movie again, but watch it closely and pay attention!

Summary: I'd give it 10 stars, but I can't!!
Review: This movie is probably my favorite all time. It's absolutely beautiful, and the fact that it's based on an original story by Stephen King just blows the mind. I just love everything about it, the story, the music, the superb acting, the direction, everything. Morgan Freemans protrayal as Red is pure genious. ... The music throughout the movie is also done very well, complimenting the scenes perfectly, especially in this last scene. I don't know why critics rag on the length, it's the perfect length. The story is developed perfectly, and without the long length of the movie the relationship between Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins characters would not have been developed well enough to have the effect that it does at the end. This movie is absolutely amazing. It's the only movie to have made me cry from watching it numerous times. Usually movies might lose some effect after the first watching, but I find that this one has the same effect with every viewing. It's perfect, and is definately my favorite movie of all time!!

Summary: The epitome of perfection
Review: This review could in no way do Frank Darabont's classic any justice. It is, quite simply, the greatest movie of all time. At the end of two and a half hours, you sit infront of the TV with the greatest feeling in the world. Nothing is wrong with this movie! Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman give the preformance of their lives, and the rest of the cast is amazing. If you haven't seen this movie, don't waste the money on renting it...BUY IT!!!

Summary: A Must See!
Review: .... I've put off watching it until today and I'm not sure why I didn't watch it sooner! I'm not a big fan of prison movies, but this is one exception. The story is awesome and never really drags, which makes the 2.5 hour movie feel more like a 90 minute film. Tim Robbins and Morgran Freeman are excellent. I highly recommend this film to anyone who has yet to see it.

Summary: A real movie
Review: Shawshank Redemption belongs to an endangered species, the "real movies" family. Frank Darabont creates CHARACTERS. Characters as opposed to types (like the stone-faced-cop/justice-maker, always successful, and who, in the process, ends up with a sexy girl stuck to his prominent pectorals). Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman and the gang are real actors that, finally, get to do what an actor is meant to: ACT!!! This movie is a pearl born out of the mud and garbage that the American Movie Industry methodically throws at us with increasing zeal. But I would definitely forgive them if, at least once a year, they would give us a movie of this caliber. My advice? Buy it and watch it monthly if not weekly. It satiates the hungry mind, and it's a balsam for the soul!

Summary: Full Greatness
Review: The only great year of the academy awards. Too many great choices with the worst of the bunch winning. Same as the year of the boat. Me and a fellow critic who I admire were just talking about Morgan Freeman's performance. It was outstanding, only seen by him in one other film(Seven). A film like this deserves a better version on DVD though. This is the feel good movie of all time. It is a story of the human soul and spirit and overcoming things that keep your inspiration down. If I could own just fifty movies, this would definitely be one of them.

Summary: Morgan Freemans Best
Review: This movie is truly a masterpiece, overshadowed by the war epic named Braveheart. I do not remember this movie winning any Academy Awards for acting or directing and after watching this movie dozens of times I cannot understand why.This movie is better then Braveheart for several reasons. This movie deals with something every person has dealt with in their life: Hope and being taken advantage of. Not everyone has been oppresed by the British. Why Morgan freeman didnt win Best Actor is mindblowing after his performance as "Red". His scenes alone towards the end of the film are wonderful and are my favorite part of the whole film. Another stellar performance was by Clancy Brown who has made a career out of playing total jerks, plays the meanest of the prisons guards. A 5 star movie witha 5 star cast. A movie you cannot go wrong with.

Review: If it werent for Forrest Gump, this movie would have taken best picture. The story is absolutely phenomenal, and the ending is one of the best I have ever seen. This was the very first DVD that I bought, and I am proud of it. BUY, RENT, OR STEAL THIS MOVIE!!!! It is worth viewing more than once
