Summary: One of the Best Movie Ever Made, But Hey, No Extra Scenes??
Review: It's still the best movie about education. Surpassed probably only by The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (the feminine version of Dead Poets Society), anyway one who watch Dead Poets Society nowadays will find it's still tought-provoking and critical about the education system like it was then. One can wonder wheter it is really the education system at school that makes us accept the conformity of society that deaden our brain.

Robin Williams is in top performance, and it still become the best performance in his career, proving that he can became an ACTOR and not only a COMEDIAN. This success will never be repeated again until Good Will Hunting.

The others, young Ethan Hawke is brilliant as Todd Anderson, and outshines the others.

I will give this 5 stars. However, the DVD version deserved only 4 stars since it doesn't contain the nine extra scenes that makes this movie more poignant and inspiring. The extra scenes includes the scenes where Mr. Nolan assign each students the extra-curricular activities that they must attend, the scenes where Knox and Chris chat at The Danberrys and he developes a crush on her, despite her engagement to Chet, and many more. The DVD version should put this extra scenes. Too bad it doesn't.

Summary: Robin Williams, excellent
Review: This is a terrific film. Robin does a great job. this is somewhat familiar territory, but Williams somehow makes it all seem so fresh to us. This was a touching story. The line, "Oh, Captain, My Captain" gets me everytime.

Summary: a magnificent expereience
Review: wonderfully acted with powerful performances by Williams, Leonard and Hawke. Williams ignites the screen as he teaches the class about carpe diem(seize the day) and make your lives extrodinary. with nicely shot footage and some great direction, this one will leave you cheering at the end. one of the best performances by Williams and one of the best movies of 1989. a wonderful expereience

Summary: Great film
Review: You guys should also note that the movie is based off of a true story. Keating now instructs at the University of Connecticut. He is a sharp and thought-provoking as ever.

The movie, from what I understand, is well-made and very much based off of fact. This one is a sure winner!

Summary: Charismatic English teacher at a prep school
Review: Perfect role for Robin Williams: a misfit of a professor at a conservative prep school who uses humor of one of his instructional devices. Beautiful portrayal of age-old conflict between adults and kids, especially when the kids don't show signs of developing along the lines their parents had mapped out for them.
Helluv good flick.

Summary: Wonderful movie!
Review: Dead Poets Society, along with others such as The Breakfast Club, are the kind of movies I wish were of my generation. I was only a few years old when DPS came out but it had the same impact as if I had seen it in theatres in 1989. It's one of those movies where you watch it and come out wondering why all teachers aren't like Robin Williams' character. Dead Poet Society is the perfect combination of passion, friendships, and fun, while still having time for tears (though the DVD is somewhat lacking because of scene cuts). If you haven't seen it, I suggest that you should!

Summary: An academic classic, if such is possible...
Review: I must say, this is really a wonderful movie. I myself have had several teachers who were inspiring and unorthodox, like Keating; funny how those two things always go together in teachers. And isn't it odd how teachers who are really loved by their students are always at odds with the administration? But I'm getting off track. My past experiences made it so that I really identified with the characters, who were such brave young men. Their honor and loyalty, their friendships and their shared love of poetry, were all so strong and genuine that it was really quite touching. And the acting was simply excellent; for some reason it seems to me like this sort of role is what Robin Williams was born to play. All the young men were equally convincing in their roles, Ethan Hawke especially (he's a favorite actor of mine, so maybe I'm just biased). One thing I didn't like, though, was the suicide scene. It was just too sad for me to handle, I guess; and there was something, too, in the way it was portrayed that was somehow repulsive. Largely it just felt like a waste, like it was too small a matter to kill oneself over... but those are just my feelings on the matter, and badly-articulated I might add. Anyway, as long as a measure of tragedy doesn't turn you off, then by all means watch this because it is a powerful film. And I do apologize if I've spoiled any of it for you, but its strength doesn't lie in plot twists so I wouldn't worry too much.

"Carpe diem, lads! Make your lives something extraordinary!"-More or less exact quote from the unconventional Professor Keating.

Review: This movie was incredible and touching I wish all teachers were like the one Robin Willams portrayed. This movie is a must see for everyone. It inspired me to do things I never thought possible. All the actors in this movie were great.
