Summary: An extraordinary film
Review: Even though there are more than enough reviews of this film, I felt compelled to add my two cents simply because I consider "Dead Poet's Society" one of the finest films ever made. The universal message of living life to the fullest, has never been brought across with this level intensity and beauty. This is Robin Williams' greatest film role. His Mr. John Keating is one of the most passionate characterizations ever captured on film; a flawless mixture of pathos, integrity and humor. The supporting cast headed by Ethan Hawke was equally memorable. However, let's not forget the most important supporting character of all: The poetry. When Robin Williams passionately recites "O Me! O Life" you are not only in awe of Whitman's genius and of Williams' talent, but of the obvious truth behind those perfect words. Mr. Williams makes poetry come to life in a way that I dare say, not even the great Laurence Olivier could. "I went to the woods because I wanted to live delibaretly..." read before each DPS meeting further illustrates the beauty of poetry and of it's importance in our modern day world. Everyone should be so fortunate as to have a Mr. Keating in their lives. Those people that make us aware that life is too short to be taken for granted; that there are too many wonderful experiences waiting for us to seek them out and that life is not meant to be wasted. "Carpe Diem, lads. Make your lives extraordinary." In an age of conformity, he taught his students to be men of passion and conviction. What more could one want from an English teacher or a film? A Brilliant piece of cinema in every respect (acting, screenplay, directing, cinematography, etc.). Truly inspiring! Rent it, see it, buy it for I'm sure you'll want to see it again and again.

Summary: This is the BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!
Review: This is a definite must-see! A superb story staring many brilliant people. It tells of Mr. Keating, a teacher who asks students to think for themselves, who makes a difference in many students' lives.

"O captain my captain. Who knows where that comes from? ...Anybody? ...Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you may call me Mr. Keating, or--for the slightly more daring--o captain my captain."

Summary: From Laughs to Tears...
Review: When my best friend told me I had to see Dead Poets Society i thought it sounded like a crazy movie but after watching 45 minutes of it in English one day I had to go home and finish it, that night. It is truly touching. It's about kids that people can relate too, but they have the courage to do things that ordinary people don't do. I could also relate personally because I have discovered the same love for acting that Neil has and I could understand his pain. I hope all of you are as fortunate as I have been to discover your teacher who is like Mr Keating, I have had my own. Please, if you only buy one movie in your whole lifetime, make it this one.

Summary: I recommend parents watching this video.
Review: Who is a good traditional student? Somebody with good notes and as getting it, he probably must repeat everything that the teacher or the school tell. The film tells us some different: there is one way for an education more advanced, we must allow to the pupils think, feel and enjoy its education and they will discover an amazing world. Everybody knows that the education is not competition, is not to figth by the first place. Why do we forget it?.

Summary: Absolutely Excellent
Review: This is one of my favorite movies. I have always thought that Robin Williams was a great comedic actor, but his dramatic acting is just as superb. Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke, and Josh Charles, were also wonderful. As his students, these young men have their own stories which twist around the central plot to create an intriguing story with a surprise ending that will make you laugh, make you cry, make you think, and make you cheer. One of the best movies ever!

Summary: Very well acted, especially by Hawke.
Review: It is a powerful film. I watched it 3 times in the same day when I rented it. The acting is superb! Ethan Hawke is my favorite actor, and this is his finest performance.

Summary: " I Wanted To Live Deep And Suck Out the Marrow of Life"
Review: THIS MOVIE WAS THE GREATEST!!!!!! I could really understand what this teacher was trying to teach. And it wasn't just the teacher. It was the poetry. "I wanted to live deep and suck out the marrow of life" reflects what we all want to do, dispite the fact that often society doesn't accept it.

Summary: A Robin Williams Blockbuster
Review: One of the greatest movies of all times. The setting, the cast of characters and, the overall chemistry make this a movie to see again and again. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a Robin Williams fan.

Summary: VERY Good Film.
Review: If they allowed middle-of-the-road terms, I would rate DPS as 4 and a half stars, falling just short of five for some decidedly melodramatic elements. In any case, DPS is a moving achievement, by acclaimed director Peter Weir (WITNESS). Robin Williams is one of my favorite directors, and well deserved the Best Actor nod. Ranks #14 on my top 20 of all time.
