Summary: Seize the day !!!
Review: This story's setting is Welton Academy, which is a traditional concervative and strict preparatory school. The main characters are Mr.John Keating, Neil,Todd,Cameron,Charlie and Knox. These boys never have had freedom. They always have to obey their parents. However, thanks to Mr.Keating, who is a free-thinking teacher, they get the chance to know how they should send their lives. In the end ,Mr. has to leave from them but these boys never forget him and Mr. Keating is their "captain" forever. Perhaps this film shows us that we must not regret our lives but seize the day. For our generation, this movie reminds us what we have forgotten, that is, to not do what everyone else does. We recommend to whatch this movie to someone who always accept someones opinion and follow them because they would find that they could change their lives somehow and that is the better way to send their lives.

Summary: Carpe Diem
Review: This film is called "Dead Poets Society". The story takes place in 1959 in the East Coast of the United States. This film is about free-thinking English teacher, John Keating and his students in a preparatory school named Welton Academy. the main characters are Neil, Todd, Charlie, and Mr.Kesting. Neil is a boy who follows his parents' opinion but finally he does what he wants. However his father doesn't accept his opinion so he kills himself.Todd is a shy boy but Mr.Keating changes him.In the last scene,Todd has the courage to show his respect for Mr.Keating.Charlie is an active and tender-hearted boy.He can say his opinions in public. Also he is the only person who doesn't sign the unfair statement.Mr.Keating is a teacher who loves teaching and students. He has his own way of teaching but it isn't accepted by the school so he has to leave the school. The most impressive scene for me is the last scene. In the classroom, when Mr.Keating leaves the school, most of the students stand on their desks and say "Oh captain,my captain".Although the students obey the headmaster but actually they love Mr.Keating. The boys learn many things from Mr.Keating and by making the club `Dead Poets Society'.Perhaps this film show us that we should sieze the day and look at things from different views.

Summary: we enjoyed this film very much
Review: This film is about an English teacher and his students at a conservative preparatory school. The English teacher Mr.Keating tries to teach the students to "seize the day" and to "step your own pace" through his class of poetry. Several students are inspired by Keating's class and revive "Dead poets Society" which Mr.Keating had belonged to. We sympathize with the main message "seize the day". It's hard to accomplish to "seize the day" in the real world; however,it's important that you try to do something. This film reminds us of that. We of the same generation have common feelings,so it's easy to understand the students. We recommend this film to other people, especially to our generation and people who relate to our generation. After you watch this film, you will have some opinions. It's okay they won't be similar to us, because it's your opinion. We think that this film is not only enjoyable, but also may become a clue to finding your own way.

Summary: We liked the movie very much.
Review: The film "Dead Poets Society" is bout a free-thinking teacher in a strict preparatory school, and the relationship between the students there. Robin Williams as a free-thinking teacher, Mr.Keating comes to Welton Academy and starts to teach the students. In the film,we most like the scenes in which Mr.Keating is teaching the students. We think those scenes shows the unique teaching style of Mr.Keating, and also the students look very interestedin the class. Also we think showing the other teachers' classes before Mr.Keating's class made us understand easily the difference between Mr.Keating's teaching method and other teachers'. Wha happensto Niel was shoking. It shows how difficlt it is to achieve the bes things you want to do,ifparents object. However,we know Todd matures from his relationship with Niel.It means Todd gets over his problem of human relationship. The last scene s impressive.Starting with Todd, everyone stands up on the desk, even the one who was not interesed in Mr.Keating's class. In this film everyone's acting is good,we thought. It is a very pure film.

Summary: "Seize the Day"should be the motto of young people
Review: Dead Poet Society This film takes place in a conservative preparatory school on the East coast of the U.S. in 1959. The main charaters are Mr. Keating (Robin Williams)who comes to this school as a new English teacher. This film is about boys who start chnging little by little through Mr. Keating's unique classes in which he teaches his students how to "make their lefe extraordinary." The boys start expressing themselves through many poems. The most interesting scene for us is the climactic scene of the movie. In that scene we could see how much the boys changed. We think that this movie is trying to tell us to have our own thoughts and do what you feel like doing. We enjoyed this film very much and it made us think about our life. Also, the acting is good so we would like to recommend this film to everyone, especially to young generatons."We are running from the battle when it's one that must be fought."A quotation from the film.

Review: The movie "Dead Poets Soiety",starring Robin Williams,is a story of a teacher and his students in a prepatory school named Welton Academy in 1959.The teacher is John Keating(played by Williams),whose is free-thinking way and passion encourage the students to live fully. The words "carpe diem" help them to do what they want to do. However, conservative adults don't like it.

"Dead Poets Society" is a club which keating lead when he was a student of Welton. The students restart that club. They read poetry in a cave. We think it's a fantasitic way of spending time with friends to read poetry. It would be nice to have relationship through poetry. Some people may by attracted by the loftiness of the boy's lives.

The movie shows the relationship between Neil, one of the main characters, and his father, who is too strict to allow Neil to do what he wants to do- acting. The description of the relationship is O.k. but the last of it is not persuasive.

Another main character named Charles is quite a interesting fellow. We like the scene in which he tells that he has gooten phone call for the headmaster from god. People who express themselves in unique ways are fascination. Perhaps this movie shows us that we should make ourselves unique.

There are more main characters, and each of them shows good acting. If you have regret that you didn't live fully in your school life, this movie might be precious to you. It's hard to live fully if you are an adult. That's why the setting is a preparatory school.

On the first impression, We felt this movie was about the bond between students and a teacher. However, it is actually about the bond among students. Not only a good teacher but also friends contribute to making this film moving. This movie is very good and enjoyable, but we don't like what Neil finally does. It makes this movie inconsistent. Neil knew the words "sieze the day", he gave upp "the day". So we are not satisfied with this film completely.

Summary: The Best Movie.
Review: The title of the film is "Dead Poets Society". The story takes place in 1959 in the East Coast of the United States. The main characters are Mr. Keating, Neil Perry, Todd, Knox, Charles, Cameron, Meeks, Mr.Nolan, Mr.Perry, Mr.Mc Allister and Dr.Hager. The story is about a strict preparatory school. The students have to obey regulations. In this school there is a teacher named Mr.Keating. He is unique because he teaches the students to have their own idea and decide the future by themselves. Then the students make the "Dead Poets Society" and their life is changed. We were interested in Mr.Keating because we like his way of thinking which is "seize the day". The impressive scene is the last scene when Mr.Keating is leaving the school and students stand on their desks. We thought that the main message is go your own way and seize the day. It made us think more about life. We were very moved by that film.

Summary: The best movie of Robin Williams!
Review: The movie "Dead Poets Society" with Robin Williams as the main character is a story about a very strict preparatory school which is located in the East Coast of America. Robin Williams plays an English teacher who is a free-thinker and also loves poems passionately. He treats the students as individuals and teaches them to have different views on life and respect what their heart desires. As an result, the boys start to follow Mr.Keating's (Robin Willams) way of thinking. It is a really touching story and also makes you think deeply about life. While watching this movie, I felt great indignation toward the parents of boys and the teachers over their conservativeness and manipulation. Although it is my personal opinion, I really recommand people to watch this great movie.

Summary: Entertaining baloney
Review: I'll never forget watching the opening credits roll up and realize - this was shot at my old school! Making it a film filled with personal ironies...

I just CAN'T manage to take Williams seriously, but his performance was good and so were the others. There were some beautiful moments of cinematography, too. Alas however, the (re)viewer from D.C. has called it true: the film is stuffed with sanctimony and melodrama because the filmmakers wouldn't trust the viewers to draw their own conclusions. The 'bad guys' were 2 dimensional and the phony crisis destroyed the film for me (I had 3 schoolmates who attempted suicide, one successfully.)

I attended St. Andrews, where the film was shot. The headmaster, a former English teacher promoted for fundraising successes, was remote and disinterested in the students; we'd have been better off with the film version! In fact I was sent to see him by my English teacher on one occasion (for arguing in class!) and remember his total disinterest in discipline - or ANYTHING related to student life! The aforesaid teacher was the shadow of the film version: a smarmy phony who effected that pedagogical routine 'look on me as one of the boys' (while I tell you what Truth is!)

Oh well. If you like "Tom Brown's Schooldays" or "Stalky and Company" you'll probably enjoy this.
