Summary: Dead Poets Society
Review: We were interested in one people. He is Neil.Speaking of Neil,I think Neil is very kind and clever. But he was too good as a person. He tried not to disappoint with his parents. For that,he gave his dream up.I think it isn't good act.If we have a dream,we should try to do the best and make our dream come true. We shouldn't always obey parents'opinions. I thought so. We think the theme of this film is `seize the day'. We should live the days more important. Finally, we learned importance about our living. And we want to recommend this film to other people and us.

Summary: Interesting movie!
Review: The story takes place in 1959 in East Coast of the United States. The plot of story is: Mr.Keating, the main character of this film, came to a conservative preparatory school and taught his students his motto "Carpe Diem" which means "Seize the day". The students restarted the Dead Poets society, but it caused their progress and tragedy. Because of problems about his students that takes place form next to next, they were compelled to do something by Mr.Nolan, the headmaster of the school. The most intresting character for us was Knox. His mind is just like ours, passionate and brave. If we were him we would act similarly. We think the main massage is "Seize the day". These words tell us to be active,to make your own day,not to be a person who does nothing but obey others. To watch this film, we felt something like independence and adventure at the scene of cave. The last scene might be often used, but very impressive. This was a great great movie!

Summary: Introduction of Dead Poets Society
Review: Dead Poets Society is the story about a free-thinking teacher in a very conservertive preparatory school. His charisma and love of poetry inspires several boys to revive a secret society with a bohemian bent. One of his students, Neil has a very strict father and he couldn't stand it. The free-thinking teacher, Mr. Keating was blamed for what happend. We are interested in the last scene of Mr. Keating and Todd because we were much moved.

The main message is "Seize the day" which means to be active.

Some people said "This film was boring." but we thind this film made us moved becouse it taught us what school, teachers, and parents should be. Also it taught us how important it is to do what we really want to do.

We will recommend this film all of you!

Summary: Review
Review: First impression we got is not only interesting but also emotional. There were many charactres in this film and those had styles which was different from each other. The most impressive character was Neal who wanted to be an actor and was very positive in all situations. Though we wrote that Neal was the most impressive person, another characters were also good. Neal and another character grew up through out the film after they met Mr. Keating who was good teacher. When we watched this film, we knew that the main massage of this film was "Seize the day." We think that this means "Get your dream and live as you want." At last seen, you can be moved. So we recommend you to watch this film.

Summary: Dead Poets Society was great!
Review: This film,Dead Poets Society was about Mr.Keating who taught poets and his student's story. The main characters are Mr.Keating,Neil,Knox and so on.The most interesting scene for me was last scene.Parhaps this film showed us that "Seize the day", it is important to do what you want to do and children are not their parent's belongings. I enjoyed the film, however, I wanted Neil to left his house and chase his dream. If there were many teachers like Mr.Keating, students could have alive activity.Their acting was great! I like Mr.Keating and Todd, because Mr.Keating is adult, but he doesn't forget pure mind, and Todd's smile is very cute like a boy.I want to recommend this film to other people, especially adult, and I want them to understand and recognize children's feeling and thought.

Summary: Good Picture With Flaws
Review: It is a well-made, well-acted, beautifully-produced film(I love the scenic autumn New Hampshire locale), with a haunting musical score and a message aimed at the heart. Robin Williams gives another outstanding performance as he always does. I do have a bone to pick with people who simply think this film is too wonderful for words and cannot see the other problems the film suffers. I am a teacher of High School students myself, and I guess I always find myself looking more closely at pictures like this one, Dangerous Minds, Stand & Deliver, etc. There seems to be a tendency, in this picture, to convey to the audience that one class, one man can instantly inspire youngsters in a brief period. There are rewards in teaching, but it is just not that easy to see the immediate rewards and sometimes it is years later when kids come back and thank you. This film seems to be saying, also, that it is okay to challenge an established order whenever it seems fit. There are times when conformity is necessary(and maybe the producers and writers of the picture know this and this is all presumptious). You have to look at both sides of the coin here. The film casts Keating as a hero, and the officials of the school, who pride the schools' successful record of achievement with the 4 pillars, as the heavys. I did feel real sympathy for the character of Neal Perry(wonderful acting job by Robert Sean Leonard) who is torn between obeying his stern father's wishes and going for his dream. It is, indeed, a tragic situation. I don't think that the film should be viewed in simple black and white terms in that Keating is good and the parents & school officials are bad. The film poses some complex dilemmas, and it is full of presumptions.

Summary: Tremendous film, but...
Review: it's hard for me to drum up a 5 star rating for a movie about a bunch of spoiled, pampered prep school boys who have nothing but opportunity laid at their feet. That's not to say that the rich and sheltered don't have problems like the rest of us but I don't think that they compare, by and large.

That notwithstanding, it is a marvelous film with great performances from all the players. I was particularly impressed with both Robert Sean Leonard and Ethan Hawke who really brought life to their characters. And all I can say about Robin Williams is that he is as fine a dramatic actor as he is a comedian.

I guess I also think the film angered me because Mr. Keating (Robin Williams) was such a fabulous teacher but as is so often the case anyone outside of the traditional faces tremendous challenges. But that's just what our educational system and society need. Non traditional thinking.

Inspiring, comic, and dramatic all at the same time.

Summary: Sweet and thought-provoking
Review: This is a very sweet movie that makes you really think about what poetry and writings can do to you. Robin Williams leads a very strong cast, including Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard. I have seen it multiple times and it hasn't lost its magical touch.

Summary: 'O captain, my captain!'
Review: Anyone who hasn't seen this movie is no friend of mine! I first saw this when I was young and didn't quite get most of it. But then I rented it again and afterwards I bought it! This movie is truly fantastic and I can't help it, Ethan Hawke was HOT! Besides that this film is about a bunch of guys at a Catholic school with a teacher played by the hilarious and inspiring Robin Williams who teaches them a lot about life. They form the Dead Poets Society and begin to do crazy things, like go to public school's and ask out the girl of their dreams. But then things go wrong. Not like murder wrong, but amiss as in Robin William's teaching isn't considered appropriate under the watchful eyes of the school officials and he is fired. To fully enjoy this movie, you're gonna wanan see it a couple of times, meaning it's such a great movie that you'll not want to take it back! Since I've gotten this movie I watched it at least seventy times and I'm still crying at the end when they all stand on their desks! And with them I stand on my couch and shout 'O captain! My captain!' I know it sounds cheesy, but I'm serious. This movie is stunning and amazingly well acted and there is no possible way that you cannot find some reason to enjoy it!

Summary: In Every Way But One.
Review: Don't we wish that we all could have had such a teacher at least once in our lives? One who jarred us out of our limited perspectives? That's also the kind of teacher parents pray for in the education of their children. Mr. Keating was such a man, but he suffered one major flaw. He allowed his point of view and energy to blind him to the needs of one of his students, Neil. There were so many signs regarding the intensity of the struggle Neil was having with his over-controlling, dictatorial father, that Keating should have seen more of these. That is perhaps the greatest tragedy of the whole story, and no doubt, the intent of the screenwriter. However, given the number of teen suicides in the country, and the increasing despair of so many young people, I would have preferred a more constructive resolution of the dilemma. This might have necessitated a moderate revamping of Neil's character, but it would have allowed the exploration of other, less destructive alternatives. I realize the dramatic effect of a young, promising man's suicide, and the "lesson" it was intended to teach the father, but I would have found a less dramatic (desperate) resolution equally effective. Carpe Diem is an act of affirmation, not despair. Teachers must be vigilant in their enthusiasm. Not all students share their passion, nor can they endure the expectations of a viewpoint beyond their years.
