Summary: Strange, at times dark and often very funny.
Review: If you like watching strange almost circus like people struggle through life than you should enjoy this movie. I find most hollywood 'blockbuster' movies to be trash, poor writing and unsympathetic characters, poor acting and plotting. this is definitely a step above. The movie is really kind of taking the piss on the porn industry by portraying most of the people as a little slow and yet thoroughly convinced of their talent and their art. It's also kind of nostalgic for anyone who lived through the 70's and early 80's. There is a scene where the main character and his buddy are trying to cut a rock record after having a fight with their porno director, very funny. I can't see this as ever being a popular main stream movie, but if you like most so called cult films you should enjoy this. should be a 'cult classic' in no time

Summary: Among the worst films of the decade
Review: A long, boring, absolutely awful movie. It introduces us to a lot of characters, follows them around for a while, and then, when it seems to realize that nothing is going on, gives us a scene of graphic violence in a vain attempt to add significance to what must be the most empty film to be made in the wake of Quentin Tarantino's equally vapid Pulp Fiction.

Summary: I've got 3 words for you... "Feel the Heat"!
Review: After seeing this movie I wanted to hitch a ride to Hollywood and try my luck at being a Porn Queen!

I absolutely love this film... from Scotty's heart breaking attempt to woo Dirk to RollerGirl's outpour of affection to a former high school sweetheart.

Burt Reynolds' "Father Knows Best" performance deserved an Oscar and Julianne Moore's "Carol Brady on Smack" was the mother I always wanted.

The crew's welcome to the 80's was most appropriate.

Summary: it's porn......AND it's funny - what else do you want?
Review: Boogie Nights is a movie that combines elements of porn and comedy, while under the pretense of a serious movie. On the whole the movie entertained quite well, but the shlong scene at the end was unnecessary.

Summary: P.T. Who??
Review: While only P.T. Anderson's 2nd movie "Boogie Nights" is the reason why this director should be watched for future greatness. The movie is geat,Always a fresh camera view. More important is the DVD is great! Good film transfer..sound...use of dolby is better than ave...Love the directors commentary which really should be mandatory.... I would have liked more cameo's from adult starts but you can't have em all... This one can only add to your DVD collection..

Summary: CAN I BORROW YOUR ROLLER SKATES HEATHER?
Review: Obvious minor classic and future cult film follows the hedonistic exploits of a well endowed male teen, an even better endowed female teen (who forgot how to take her roller skates off), and an "All business" porn-meister (Burt Reynolds) as they traverse their decadent capade from film to video (70-80). Sob-plots and sub-characters make this film. It seems the sex scenes are made to be laughable and de-hardening. A semi-chronicle approach details a yearly change in perversions. The cough syrup just kicked in, so I'll have to cut it short. Just watch it and you'll laff and cry.

Summary: Could it be the best film of all time?
Review: Boogie Nights is one of those rare films that, for me anyway, has it all: Technique. Story. A great cast. An outstanding soundtrack. Maybe it sounds cliched, but you honestly can't get any better than this film. An honest look at the porn industry of the late '70s and early '80s, Boogie Nights takes an unflinching look at the lifestyle of porn insiders and outsiders - without judging the films characters. With tracking shots, moving performances, braveura acting skills and a poignant sense of humour and irreverance, Boogie Nights will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Director Paul Thomas Anderson shows every sign of becoming the next Altman or Scorsese. How he can ever hope to top Boogie Nights is beyond me, but I'm eagerly awaiting his next film to see how (or even if) he does it.

Summary: Great flick!
Review: Boogie Nights is a great look into the 1970's porno scene. I loved it . It brought back some fond memories of sneaking my dad's pronos tapes out when he and mom were out of town. Movies were made just like those in Boogie Nights. Dirk Diggler and Amber Waves play well together. Give Bert Reynolds two thumbs up also. This will become a Cult Classic in the near future. I have it in my collection. WATCH IT !!!

FEEL,FEEL,FEEL... FEEL MY HEAT.
