Rating: Summary: Really realistic, if you grew up in a small Texas town. Review: What I liked best was the setting. Could say there is some bias. Filmed in my home town, Sandra and Harry acted right at home and fit right in during the filming. The story line touched on many of the small town themes personally observed over the years...from football hero marrying cheerleader queen, to the big divorce, to many who came home for help in raising small children, to finding there is lots of happiness in life even when we don't live up to our own expectations. If you grew up and love a small town anywhere, Hope Floats may make you homesick.
Rating: Summary: A terrific heart-warming, mind opening movie. Review: This seemed to be another "Chick Flick" when it opened. Yet, Sandra Bullock adds a new twist to "searching for yourself." The words, descriptions, uncoiling of her character, her daughter's character and her mother' character make this a refreshing movie. It was down to earth but not typical or boring. The interesting thing was that although there were a few sad parts in the story I didn't feel upset afterwards rather enlightened in some ways. Mothers and daughters should definitely see this together.
Rating: Summary: loved this movie Review: I enjoyed this movie very much. I've seen it 3 times and then I even bought it. It's not an Academy Award winner, but it's a feel good movie. No sex, no foul language, just a nice love story and they live happily ever after. What a refreshing change!
Rating: Summary: Depressing Review: This movie was just a little too slow and a little too depressing. I expected much more from the two stars.
Rating: Summary: A Very Romantic Movie Review: Although I did not like the beginning of the movie because it was'nt very realistic, overall I thought it was a very romantic movie that had an excellent ending.
Rating: Summary: WEAK Review: The story really dragged. I kept waiting for the plot to develop but, much to my dismay, it didn't. I really expected more out of Bullock. I found watching grass grow to be more interesting.
Rating: Summary: I wanted to like this movie Review: I like Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick, Jr. I think they are decent actors. Notwithstanding these two facts, I despised this movie and thought it degraded both of them to be in it. The premise was interesting, but the execution was shallow, incomplete and painfully devoid of purpose.
Rating: Summary: HOPE FLOATS is such a sweet story. Review: Hope Floats is more than just a romance story. It is about family and getting through hard times. The romantic parts are great, but what is more important is the way it is not just that.

Harry & Sandra ,I LOVEyou both!!! harry your music is great!! hope to hear u sing in the next one ,keep up the good work and that wonderful jazz of yours.
Rating: Summary: Good, but cheesy Review: "Hope Floats" is a typical family drama. A young woman, played by Sandra Bullock, finds out that her husband is in love with her best friend...on a nationwide TV show. As a result, takes her daughter and moves back to her hometown, a small place in Texas, called Smithville. Living at her mother's house, she soon loses her nerves. Right at this moment, the attractive cowboy Justin comes along to win her heart. What can I say about this movie? It's definitely entertaining and very well acted. Especially Gena Rowlands (as mother) and Mae Whitman (as daughter) are over the top. But somehow something is missing in "Hope Floats"...maybe it's just a bit too American for the taste of an average European. Nevertheless...if you like this kind of movies, you should take a look at it. It's no mistake.
