Summary: FANTASTIC - I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!
Review: I bought this DVD for my wife, as she loves romances whereas I normally love action and sci-fi. But I also think very highly of Robin Williams, having enjoyed his performances in GOOD MORNING VIETNAM and DEAD POETS SOCIETY(and I'm a closet MORK AND MINDY fan!), so I watched it with her, and I was surprised that I ended up enjoying this movie so much! The story tells of a man named Chris, played by the brilliant Robin Williams, who dies in a road accident and goes to Heaven, which is his own personal Heaven, in one of his wife's unfinished paintings. His wife Annie(Annabella Sciorra), who has suffered the loss of their children with him in the past, is so devastated she kills herself and descends into Hell. Cuba Gooding Jnr plays a jovial Heaven 'guide', who shows Chris around and what he can create for himself, but this stiry proves that he loves Annie so much he would, quite literally, endure hell to be with her again. This movie had it all - spectacular visual effects depicting heaven and hell, brilliant performances all round(Robin Williams makes any movie he does worth watching, with the possible exception of that turkey called NINE MONTHS) and a story that will make you think about life in a different angle. The inverted cathedral images of Hell were an imaginative touch, along with the sea of faces and Max Von Sydow as a kind of dark man, or tracker, leading Williams into Hell. Watch this film with someone you love, and you'll appreciate each other more! It's unusual for me to rate a film of this type so high, but there you go. Don't miss it.

Summary: A Masterpiece in FILM ART.
Review: "What Dreams May Come" has blended all of the creativity and visual masterpiece into one splendid piece of work. The colors and imaginitive set design coupled with the outstanding effects lead to a wonderful movie going experience. Due to the aesthetic values of others, there may be some conflict as to the ideas of the after world and life therein, one may question the movie's content. But, with the open mind and open heart, this movie can touch and move one to a deepened desire to dream and achieve.

Summary: Either you love it or you hate it... I loved it!
Review: For anybody that enjoys amazing visual effects , very imaginative plot , and has great actors this is the movie for you. If you get offended at other peoples ideas because they conflict with your own then you'll hate this movie. I thought it was excellent. I loved everything about it and thought that the other people that reviewed and didnt like it probably loved "American Pie" or the plethora of other dumb no brain movies. This movie is wonderful because of the imagination and the creativity of the plot. The director did a wonderful job putting his dreams onto the screen.

Summary: What Dreams May Come
Review: My Dreams include dribble like this never being made again. This movie is true to the Hollywood formula of "Tear Jerkers". It is completely void of substance. Looks are only puddle deep with this bad dream.

Summary: A handsomely-crafted, wonderful depiction of the afterlife!
Review: This is a powerful movie that really packs a wollup! The emotional performances receive 4 out of 5 stars, while the effects are truly stupendous. The visions of the different levels of hell give the viewer a sense that hell is not only fire and burning. Hell is your life gone wrong. The DVD version of this film is terrific, full of special features. The Dolby Surround track is greatly mastered, with sound shooting out from every speaker. If you love Robin Williams, this is for you!

Summary: One Star Might Be a Generous Review
Review: My wife and I finally rented this. The preview looked cool, but looks can be deceiving. With a prior knowledge of the storyline, we figured we would still enjoy the movie. But it was, in fact, pretty bad. The colors and visuals are great, but the story is weak, convuluted and confusing. Wait for it to come out on T.V.

Summary: Boring and Painful for MEN
Review: Sorry, I hated it. Couldn't even finish the movie. I saw it with several friends and the stats went like this: The woman liked it. The men hated it. I give the movie credit for it's unique vision of after death, but I just couldn't relate to it (not that I know what life after death is). Before you buy it try renting it!

Summary: Robin (Bach?) Williams
Review: This delicious film, dedicated to the miracle of color, graced us only a month and a half before Patch. It took me by storm and I saw it in the theatre twice. Robin Williams gives one of his most dramatically intense performances since the piano scene in Garp. Ms. Sciorra gives a range of emotion embracing wonderful mother to reclusive psychotic that would make Sanford Meisner proud. Cuba Gooding jr. is more than his usual charming self, displaying wonderful boy like tenderness and concern throughout. Max VonSydo is a perfect cherry on the sundae making this cast complete in so many respects. This film will rip your heart out and restore almost anyones faith in themselves, family, life and even love. See it with someone you know you cannot live without. I wonder if Richard Bach worked as a consultant on this film?

Summary: True love never dies
Review: This was one of the best movies I have ever seen, and not for the stunning visual effects (which were quite stunning indeed), but for the story. As one who believes he has met his soulmate, and then lost her (no suicied involved though), this movie touched me to the deepest depths of my being and gave me hope that true love can never be lost! I have also traveled from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell in the past several months, and would have chosen what Robin Williams did at the end (good ending). I still have some hope to believe that we will also end up back in the heights of heaven in this life.
