Summary: Against all odds...true love conquers
Review: Robin Williams works his magic again. Again a movie that hits very close to home. Maybe that's why I only gave it a 4. It is a very good show. And it does end well. The scenery and graphics are well done. Reading the other reviews there's not much more I can add, but wanted to give it my thumbs up anyway.

Summary: A Visiual Study of Love and Life
Review: Although the majority of this film deals with the death of the main characters, its' true message is one of love and the value of life. Visually, it is an incredible feast of color and light descending into the black and dark depths of hell. I felt it portrayed Dante's Inferno with vivid terror! The character's were real and well acted and it is a film I would reccommend only to those removed from a recent lose of a loved one. The message in the end is of hope and renewal however the content may be difficult for someone that has recently experienced death in their lives.

Review: All I have to say that the special effects are great in this movie. I thought Robin Williams actually acted rather than his usual comedy routine. I would buy this again if my dvd was to die.

Review: I my country exist "You dont know what you have until you lost", well that is maybe what the creators of Whats dreams may come, wnt tos how to us, is a film to see what is happenig in our life, and see what is good and whats is wrong, Its a very good film. Sometimes is boring, only a few minuts, The special effects are terrific (They won a Oscar), and the sound is Very good. the DVD is FULL of extra, like alternating ending, images, and have images for DVD-ROM, the DVD format has been very well Used, is THX, and the cover of the DVD is nice, full of colo, not like aliens ( I love Aliens), that dosnt have any picture, only the title. If you want a good movie, and whant to impress your friends with DVD features, the What Dreams May come is the film for you.

Summary: Turning pretty pictures into an ugly, shallow, boring movie
Review: The term BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP should be stamped in large red letters on the outside of the box as a warning. Rip the colorfully painted veneer of this stinker away, and what's left will be wilting stick figures posing unsuccessfully as inconsolable lovers. After an almost-well-done introductory set of characterizations, this movie leaps into its own abyss of lush landscapes, dark and ferocious underworlds, while pretty little things flit about spouting platitudes about life and love. After all the visual hoopla, after wading through the irritating, make-'em-up-as-you-go-along rules and regulations of this "world," there's just nobody worth giving a damn about -- and not because there couldn't be real people here, but because the moviemakers have done such a poor job putting this schmaltz together. There is potential here for a capable storyteller and director, and viewers who want to make the effort to fill in the blanks, ignore all the arbitrary and silly details, and search for some points of reference in their own lives will (and have, judging by some reviews) find value in this torturously paced movie. In response to the reviewers who said this movie will make you wish you were in heaven, I guess I'd have to agree: About half an hour into it, I did indeed wish I was dead.

Summary: Strikingly beautiful
Review: This is a visually spectacular film -- so much so that the visuals eclipse the plot and characters. The story itself is rather simple, but it is done well enough. Truthfully, I can only remember a few scenes from the film (a couple of scenes when he first enters the afterlife, and his final confrontation with his wife), and the rest of the story fades to the degree that it is overwhelmed by the fanciful settings. Even if the story and its perforances don't linger with me, the visuals will. The filmmakers did an excellent job creating the illusion of the world as an organic work of art. It was like stepping into an impressionist painting.

Summary: Affirmation of love and hope
Review: Before entiring the movie theater to see What Dreams May Come, I purchased the book, so that I could read all the details of this experience. I'm glad I did, see my book review. The movie is daring, breathtaking, believable, heartwarming, real but most of all soul searching. To love and be loved for all eternity, to believe that love can transcend to the next life makes one want to live and love the moment. The art of loving is not magical, not easy but worth the risk, death does not take love away, death magnifies love.

Summary: Soulmate Connection
Review: What a splendid film! The cinematography was OUTSTANDING! The colors and scenes were breathtaking! And, then, there is the PLOT... Equally awe-inspiring. Anyone who has ever found their soulmate or is still searching, will be deeply moved by the intense emotions portrayed with exquisite skill by the actors. This is so much more than a love story: it is a spiritual experience. Watch it and transcend.

Summary: Extremely moving and realistic (in my opinion)
Review: This film reminds me of one of my favorite Italian operas, "Orfeo," by Claudio Monteverdi. The story of Chris Nielson (Robin Williams) and Ann Nielson (Annabella Sciorra), is so similar to that of Orfeo and Euridice in Monteverdi's opera. Robin Williams will stop at nothing to reach his wife in the afterworld. When he is told he can never see her again for all eternity, he is still determined to get to her somehow, and he seeks the help of some different "spirits" to do so, as Orfeo searched for Euridice in the afterworld through the g-ds. As soon as I heard about this movie, I had to see it, as it sounded so similar to "Orfeo." I was curious to see what a more modern-day, American version of the first popular Italian opera would look like on film. It was even more spectacular than I would have ever pictured it. The effects in this movie were outstanding. The movie depicts the afterworld as a place which I view as realistic, yet surrealistic. It is a very comforting film, and I believe that any person with a terminal illness would find comfort in watching a film like this. The lesson learned when seeing this film is that life is simply how we view it, and no one else can take that away. This is a true masterpiece of the connection between soulmates.
