Review: Incredible movie - I enjoyed each part of this movie. Very healing if you are bi or lesbian. The first section of the movie was so on I almost couldn't watch it.

Review: What Happened? This is a sad follow-up to the incredible "If These Walls Could Talk". I was excited about the potential when I first saw the show advertised. Homosexuality can be as divisive a topic as abortion in our society and the potential for this film to reach out and enlighten the hetrosexual population in the same manner as "ITWCT - 1" was great. Once again, the film contains a trilogy of shorts each depicting a different era. It starts out with a bang with Vanessa Redgrave (who was absolutely incredible)portraying an elderly lesbian dealing with the death of her partner. I was in tears by the end of this first segment. It was even more poignant because the situations she encounters are still realities in today's world; they have not been relegated to the past. Unfortunately, the second segment seemed to be a re-hash from "Boys Don't Cry" - It almost felt like it was something that hit the editing floor from that movie and the producers wanted to still use it....so they stuck it in here. The third and final episode was absolutely the lamest....basically an R-rated Ellen episode with lots of prolonged bedroom scenes between Sharon Stone and Ellen. All in all, I would buy this for the first segment, but feel that more time should have been spent on development of the other two stories.

Review: in love with Chloe Sevigney (segment 2) after I saw her in this film. She's absolutely amazing. Okay, this isn't a review but I really had to add this to amazon.

Review: This movie helped my family understand. The first of three segments will have you sobbing and making legal arrangements, the second helps you come to terms with history, the third is your life, today, and is joyous and fun and filled with hope for a better day. We will play this music at our wedding. (We are learning to dance now!)

Review: A lovely movie. Forget comments about the (apparently) "overt" love/sex scenes. If this was a movie featuring straight/heterosexual love scenes, such comments would not be made.

An interesting symmetry with the original . . . Anne Heche appeared (as actress) in the third story of "If These Walls Could Talk", and here directs and writes the third story of "ITWCT 2".

Michelle Williams (so very different than in "Dawson's Creek"!), Chloe Sevigny (always excellent), Sharon Stone, Ellen Degeneres, and (most importantly) Vanessa Redgrave give excellent performances.

A lovely, lyrical examination of lesbian love - and indeed love and life in general - throughout three very different decades.

Highly recommended.

You'll laugh . . . you'll cry . . . you'll love this movie.

Review: Personally i thought all three stories were relevent to their time period, the 3rd is still not legal in some places(countries). I watch it over and over, and never get tired of it.

Are you sure this isn't a prequel to The Hours? Or maybe that one was like the latest Planet of the Apes, a "rethinking" of If These Walls Could Talk 2. So why does anyone watch this stuff?

The average, gender non-specific viewer:
I was curious about a subject that is still (at least subconsciously) taboo. In particular, does DeGeneres' preference / experience allow her to portray a better lesbian character than a straight actress (or is she blaaah in either role)?

The lesbian viewer:
I want to immerse myself in the lifestyle. I'm looking for a character that I can personally identify with. ie. I wish to justify my choices through the gradual, public acceptance of a struggling and / or misunderstood, though iconic Hollywood stereotype.
Personal note - I'll be sure to give a not helpful vote to anyone who doesn't share my values by agreeing that they love this movie.

The college guy:
Even though I won't admit it, I'm really only watching this (impatiently) so I can see chicks makin' out. Yea; hot girl-on-girl, that's the ticket!
Bonus - If I watch it with one of the babes whos' pants I'm trying to get into, she'll think I'm sensitive, and let me score.

The moral viewer:
I was disgusted, but had to see how the other half lives. Why are those actresses wasting their talents on such trash? I'll never watch anything like that again (until next week).

That about wraps it up. If you're mad because I reviewed the psychology of the subject matter more than the movie itself, well uuuuh, wasn't that the point of the flick anyway? That, and dead presidents. Besides, the other 72 reviews, to date, should give you enough idea of what to expect. I'll leave you with this thought: If These Walls Could Talk (2 / too), what would the walls in the closet say?
