Summary: Excellent, not quite a five, though.
Review: Wouldn't expect much less from the bodies that were brought together for the film. It is by far one of the most quotable movies ever ("You can either have the money and the hammer or..."). The extremely small gripe I have is the widescreen stuff. The disc would have been amazing had it have been dual-sided, dual-layered with a full-screen version other treats. This is all aside from the movie, however. One of the best soundtracks I can think of, leaves you thinking you know everything you need to know to sound smart about the mafia; or at least provides insight on how to string together the most amazing swears you can comprehend (talk about quotable, you degenerate).

Summary: BEST FILM OF 1995
Review: Each time Mr. Scorsese deems neccessary to make another film, he creates another film language. Not as blunt as 'Mean Streets,' nor as accessible as 1990's 'Goodfellas,' 'Casino' is a far more complex work than it's predecessors and the result of a filmmaker reaching full maturation in his artform. Pedantics might fault the film for it's similarities to 'Goodfellas,' but 'Casino' impresses and deepens upon multiple viewings. The best of film of 1995 which, sadly, would have been instantly deemed a masterpiece if it came from anyone other than Scorsese, considering his impressive body of work. Appropriately, much like Scorsese's 'King of Comedy' and 'Last Temptation of Christ,' 'Casino' will only appreciate with time.

Review: This is Scorsese's second gangster masterpiece since goodfellas. Robert De Niro palys Sam "Ace" Rostenin.He is the person who is chosen to run the casino and all the trouble starts when they send Niccki played by Joe Pecsi. All the violence corruption starts. A modern day masterpiece. Every actor give a good performance.

Review: Good (because of Scorsese and Deniro) but eventually grating film (because of Stone) about the mob in Vegas. The docu-first hour is great, but leaves the characters flat and under developed, squandering the Jerry Springer-ish third act.Still ,it's better than most films out there.

Review: One of america's greatest living filmmakers Martin Scorsese teams up again with Robert Deniro and Joe Pesci ("Raging Bull","Goodfellas"...) and did "Casino" in what turned out to be one of the greatest mob movies ever made .As far as I'm concerned , this is Sharon Stone's greatest performance as an actress , and Deniro and Pesci deliver as usual. The movie's script was brilliantly made and is both entertaining and original.Casino is a movie that should be seen not only by Scorsese and Deniro lovers , but by movie fans worldwide.

Review: This is one of the best mafia movies I have ever seen in my life. It has to be right up there with the Godfather. It has a great vivid story, interseting characters, and good monologue from Joe Pesci and Robert De Nero. I say again go buy it, you will not be disapointed.

Review: Every once in a while I get the urge to go to back to Las Vegas and give them my money. Then I watch this movie and I get over it. Casino is very satisfying that way, violence and all. The F-Count must be close to a record for mobster movies. Everything you'd ever want to know about running a casino in the 70's is examined in convincing fashion by director Martin Scorsese, over three loosely-packed hours. But it's one of those subjects where you want to know as much as possible, so pack a lunch. My only complaint is about the numerous jump cuts (continuity breaks), where the camera cuts away from one character to another in the same scene, but their expressions or positions change impossibly. Most people won't notice it, so don't let it get in the way of an otherwise great film. The acting is first rate, as you would expect from veteran Scorsesians Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci. It's a shame that Sharon Stone got the only Oscar nomination for this film, considering that her character's emotional instability and chemical dependence were way over the top. I really wanted to fast-forward while she screamed obscenities at everyone. As Sam Rothstein's gold-digger wife and Las Vegas Mother of the Year, Ginger really makes you see how business and pleasure don't mix. The film has a great soundtrack, featuring hits of the 70's and 80's that propel the story through time. As for the DVD transfer, the image quality is very good but there is a jarring splice toward the end that looks like a few damaged frames. You'll see. Overall, Casino is right up there -- just under GoodFellas on my list of favorites.
