Summary: Great and Misunderstood
Review: This is a great film, mostly because it is a fantasy and borders on reality so harshly and truthfully. Edward is merely one of us all, ironically, for sometime in all of our lives we have felt out of place. It is only human, and Edward amplifies that feeling. This is a genuinely moving film, with great acting, incredible production design, and, best of all, music. Elfman's score is so gorgeous and intense, bringing out the innocence in Edward and the cynicism in society. This is an extremely emotional film, not because of the grand facade, but for the smaller moments. Kim dances in the snowflakes from Edward's ice sculpture because that is the only real way they could love eachother. Edward gently touches his would-be hands, then cuts them to shreds when his master dies. Peg sees that Edward has cut his face in the mirror. The steps taken to bring out the feeling in the viewer are very skilled, the film is made on an elaborate chessboard. At first funny, then mocking, then downright serious and tragic, this film in the end helps us all discover the more unusual side to our natures. The grand finale just helps to bring out what we are supposed to be as separate human beings.

Summary: A DEFINITE MUST-HAVE NO MATTER HOW OLD!!(VIEWER OR FILM)
Review: Burton and Elfman have completely outdone themselves in a monument of a cinamatic masterpiece. The first time I saw it, I wasn't old enough to appreciate it. Now I'm tired of renting it and wanna order it!! Surrealism, drama, true love,heartbreaking music, and flat out reality is perfectly combined into a film that satisfies the strange person in all of us. Better yet, its actually a GOOD kind of strange. It's the only movie that can really make me cry, and I'd recommend it to anyone, any age. Order the film and the soundtrack and you'll be the happiest person on the face of this planet. The film reminds us of the many different forms inexcusable innocence can take and the ruthless ignorance of people today....and more importantly, the power of true love. The music brings out the light in darkness...its all just plain good. I'll leave you at that.

Review: The brillence of Burton is shown over a hundred times in this film. Vincent Price is perfect as the small part as Edward's Inventor. Edward {Johnny Depp} is great with an unforgettable personality.

Summary: Destined to become a Holiday Classic.
Review: Tim Burton has outdone himself with this surreal fairy tale. The classical Price scenes filmed in b&w gave this movie serious weight and set it apart from other modern-day classic attempts to decommercialize Christmas. The ice dance, for example, was enchanting and still gives me chills even though I've seen this film several times. Depp was (as he always is) perfect. The ending could have been less violent, but the rest of the film more than makes up for it. 5 stars!!

Summary: A purer Love
Review: Films about imagination and about involving a weirdo make me feel at home. This film brings me home every time I watch it. Depp and Ryder are two people who can really bring out the best of imagination and a delightful weirdness. Depp's character, a strange creation with scissor-like hands(if you can imagine)speaks to me in how different he is. When he comes to a suburban town, people love him, but for the wrong reasons. One girl, Ryder, sees him for him and loves him for that. Their relationship gives me hope everytime I watch this film. I am reminded how sweet and rescuing a purer love is. This film is on my five star list.

Review: This film moved me beyond belief.The acuteness with which Tim Burton portrays the struggle of a being who is both physically and emotionally distinct from those surrounding him is astonishing.His eventual expulsion from the rest of the society really opens up the eyes of the viewer and prompts self-analysis.Wonderful film!

Review: Tim Burton's whimsical, creative masterpiece caricatures the modern rural suburban community with just the right harsh undertones. Johnny Depp portrays the title character as a kind outsider. All of director Tim Burton's motion pictures depict outsiders as his central protagonists, the strange and bizarre who do not fit in with the evermore strange and bizarre.
