Review: Quite possibly the most vile, manipulative tearjerker ever foisted upon the American public. Anyone who was actually moved by this film should have their head examined. It's the two-hour equivalent of those starving children infomercials, only here it's bald little cancer children. Guess Hitchcock was right - you can play the audience like a piano...

Review: I just saw this movie and it was one of the best(if not the best) movies I have ever seen. I read review saying it was stupid and the person who wrote it was dumb, but that is completely UNtrue. so, it made you cry, but is that really a reason to hate it? This was based on a true story and this is a message to all people who hated this movie: HELLO! Real life isn't always perfect. get back down to earth! it was really good. It was funny and sad at the same time. you should really see it!!

Summary: Single greatest work of art ever
Review: Before I saw this movie at the local dollar theater, I was an unfeeling block of ice, human beings were merely empty unreal puppets to be feared or manipulated. Life was devoid of purpose or joy beyond the purely mechanical rituals necessary to sustain life. Then I saw how Robin Williams healed the sick and raised the dead and the world exploded into a nova of pure white light that seemed to last only for a few seconds and yet for what seemed an eternity. I cried and cried, all the pent-up emotions I had repressed spilling out of me. To say this movie changed my life would be a laughable understatement. I only wish there had been some nudity, then it would have been totally cool.

Review: I am a kind of person that is really into horror movies. I originally did not even want to see this movie but was forced to go. I absolutely loved this movie. People gave this movie such awful reviews. Don't believe them. This movie is unbelievable!

Summary: An inspiring story!!
Review: This was a very heart inspiring story. I really enjoyed it. Even though it is medical based, it gives a very inspiring message to everyone. I am a draftsman by trade and find that too many people want to be serious, but goofing off relieves some of the pressures and stresses of the every day. They usually call me smilely or trouble. This is not a bad thing to be thought of!! After seeing Patch Adams I know this to be true. The world needs more inspiring stories such as this one. If it helped just one person like me to keep believing than I think it was worth it! Don't you think? Thank You Patch!!!!

Summary: Dismal downer of a do gooding dunce.
Review: Robin Williams is stuck in a rut and this film is another example. Gosh I suppose all "Patch's" victorious battles give one a warm glow inside. Well, so does tobasco on a nacho chip. Characters are not explored thoughfully. It's as if the director was racing towards the end and could'nt get there fast enough. This is one movie you will be thankful that you did not pay theater price to see. Very predictable. Run far away from this and don't look back.

Summary: A Disappointment...
Review: After Robin Williams's Oscar winning performance in "Good Will Hunting," it is depressing to see him in such a trite, predictable film. Though "Patch Adams" isn't without its amusing moments, these scenes aren't enough to sustain the movie. The film attempts to manipulate the audience with cliches and over-the-top emotional zeal, the worst being the scene with the butterfly. Okay, maybe that's NOT the worst...the scene in which Patch defends his right to graduate goes way too far. It is clearly included to give Patch one more chance to stand on his soap box, and it is, perhaps, the least necessary part of the film. Also, the attempt to recreate the emotional pathos delivered successfully at the end of "Dead Poets Society" (when the students all stand on their desks to show their support for their teacher) by having former patients come into the room wearing clown noses falls flat. Overall, I do not recommend this film.
