Summary: Best Romantic Movie:
Review: There should be ten stars for this movie! One of my all time favorites. It is probably considered a "chick movie" by males, but I don't think there is a female alive who doesn't love this movie. The comedy is supplied mostly by the precocious little boy, (Tom Hank's character's son in the movie)and his little female friend, but there is some good comedic banter between Tom's character and his buddy, played perfectly by Rob Reiner. Besides Meg Ryan, the other female contingent is outstanding as well. Rosie O'Donnell is her usual witty self, and Rita Wilson (Tom's real life wife) plays his sister in this film, and she and her husband (husband in the film) supplies one of the really funny scenes. The love story that unfolds restores our faith in fate, some things are meant to be, and some couples are destined for each other, and will find each other in spite of all the odds and the obstacles that stand in the way. I can watch this movie over and over, and there are few movies that I can say that about. This is one among a handful.

Summary: The kind of love anyone could only dream of!
Review: "Sleepless in Seattle" is a beautiful love story, which I recommend to any of the hoplessly romantic. When Sam (Hanks) becomes a guest on a radio call-in show, thousands of women send him letters of comfort to his loss of his wife. One listener, Annie (Ryan) becomes more and more convinced, that she has to meet Sam. Will they ever meet? Naturally it is rare for love to come about in such a way, but I do still like to believe that it would be wonderful. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks did an awesome job, they truly make a great couple. If you like this movie, I recommend you also see "You've got mail".

Summary: Romance is alive
Review: This is a great movie. I would have thought that true love stories/romance died with the fine writtings of the early 60's. But here it is....a movie that can stand the test of time. It will always move you. Take your date to it...it is a winner for a romantic date. I have watched this movie numerous times and never get tired of it. It is one of Tom Hanks best pictures. Is it realistic...NO! Will you love it..Only if you have a heart! A must see....

Summary: Make someone happy.
Review: This is an ideal movie to watch each Valentine's Day with your special someone. Writer-director Nora Ephron does a good job of blending the right amount of comedy, romance, and sentiment. Sam (Tom Hanks) and Annie (Meg Ryan) don't meet until the last scene, but who cares? Their uncertain journey to true romance is fun to watch. Additional things to like are the surprisingly effective performance of young Ross Malinger as Jonah and Rob Reiner's hilarious performance in a small part. All that popular music from the '40s and '50s is a definite plus. It all leaves you with a mellow glow inside, similar to the golden sunset reflected off the New York skyline. Recommended for multiple romantic viewing. To the guys reading this, trembling with trepidation about now, don't worry, there is enough laugh-out-loud comedy to keep you from feeling as if you want to decorate, or something. Besides, you can always go watch "The Dirty Dozen" for masculine healing. ;-)

Summary: IT'S ALL A WELL TRAMPLED CLICHE NOW.
Review: I know everyone else in the world loves this movie. It is sacred to some people, and they would really rather that people leave it alone and never criticize it. I know that it is world-famous because everytime I tell someone I am originally from Seattle, no matter where in the world they are from... from New Zealand to Bulgaria to South Africa to Chile, they always make a comment (which they think is exceedingly cute) about "Are you sleepless?" Is it any wonder I moved to Iceland. (Now I just get asked, "Is it cold?") Meg Ryan is too cutesy. Tom Hanks is just too... Tom Hanks like. Clever idea, and it would be better if they had left this film to stand alone, but reteaming Ryan and Hanks for You've Got Mail actually kind of cheapens this film.

Summary: touching ,warming and interesting
Review: I like this movie very much because it contains something that we really need in our real lives.Tom Hanks is a good actor, he shows us what is the love between a son and a farther. And it is the very magic which brings Sam and Annie together. It's so fantastic but it's the very part that attracts the hearts.

Summary: More charcter study than romance
Review: Clearly the inferior of the two Nora Ephron romantic comedies starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE is nonetheless a fun ride. Doing what she would do with greater aplomb in YOU'VE GOT MAIL, Ephron takes cues from past romantic comedies and updates them for the Information Age.

It works not so much because of the innovation of the romance itself, but because of how the characters are drawn. Credit is richly due to Ephron and Hanks for creating a character so compellingly monogamous that even death doesn't quite part Hanks from his wife. It makes his ultimate meeting with Ryan seem at least as much deserved reward as movie inevitability.

There are enjoyable supporting characters here-Ross Malinger being the obvious standout. As Hanks' Cupidian son, Malinger is particularly effective. He's at least as much responsible for our understanding of Hanks' character as Hanks himself. It's a shame we've not seen much of him since this movie.

Still, despite fine writing and compelling characters, SLEEPLESS doesn't quite rise to the heights of its ancestor, AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER. Perhaps it's because Ryan and Hanks don't meet until the last minute of the movie. Or maybe it's because there's no clever subterfuge which accompanies most great romances. Or possibly it's because it's not really about romance so much as changing one's life by taking a risk. Whatever the case, SLEEPLESS was a disappointment after Ryan's masterwork WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and a warmup for the much better FRENCH KISS and YOU'VE GOT MAIL.

Having said this, the Collector's Edition DVD is well worth buying. Great additional features include a fine director's commentary and a survey of Love in the Movies, given by LOVELINE co-hosts Dr. Drew and Adam Corolla.

Summary: Modern Love Story With Classic Romance Flair!
Review: An 8 year old boy wants his newly widowed father to find a new wife, so the boy writes to a syndicated radio talk show psychiatrist for advise. Miraculously the perfect match for lonely dad, although living 2,000 miles away, is listening and persues the situation. -- This film makes many references to the 50s tear jerker "An Affair To Remember", and there are many similarities. "Sleepless In Seattle" may have a similar effect on the audience, although its predecessor is definitely dated by today's standards. If you're looking for a good cry and a sweet romance, look no further!

Summary: A Heart Warming Good Time!
Review: This is one of the most feel good movies of all time. Not only it stars two of today's top actors, but it's also a movie that everyone can enjoy, no matter how old the movie gets! I've seen Sleepless in Seattle so many times that I can't even keep track. If you have that special someone, then sit back, relax and enjoy this beautiful heart warming movie! Nora Ephron is a true Hollywood landmark. 5 stars all the way!
