Rating: Summary: Goldie and Heckart at their Best Review: This is a wonderful little nostalgia piece about the 60's, flower children, hippies, and finding oneself amongst all of the confusion. The fun all begins when a flower child from La-La Land (Hawn) moves in next door to a young blind man trying to escape his over-protective mother (played brilliantly by Eileen Heckart who won the Academy award for best supporting actress). The interaction between Hawn and Heckart is absolutely priceless, such as when Heckart walks in un-announced and sees her son in bed with Hawn, who is only wearing her underwear. Hawn introduces herself as an aspiring actress, to which Heckart deadpans "Oh, and might I have seen you in anything, other than your underwear?" This film is full of quiet little gems, best of which is how the various characters progress thru the movie. Will Hawn ever grow up and be able to commit to something for more than 5 minutes? Will his mother (Heckart) ever let go long enough to let him breath? and will the young blind man (sorry, I forget his name) be able to handle the REAL problems of life? This is a truly wonderful play full of nostalgia for the 60's, comedy, romance, and growth, I'm sure you'll enjoy it
Rating: Summary: Heart warming and funny Review: This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, and I saw it for the first time yesterday on HBO. Goldie Hawn is hillarious in this movie, and the story is beautiful. If you like Goldie Hawn, and if you like a good, real love story, you will LOVE this movie.
Rating: Summary: The best movie I have ever seen Review: This is the most touching movie I have ever seen. It will make you see things about love and life that you never have before. I must say it is my all-time favorite movie. I hope you enjoy it and treasure it for a lifetime.
Rating: Summary: An understated, but beautiful score. Review: This movie had very little music score, which worked well with the Broadway Play adaptation. Yet the few music moments were charming as well as beautifully written. It might be noted that the opening song was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. That, along with the 'Picnic On the Floor' music and several others, were delightful, overlooked segments, which happens more than often to the Hollywood film music people.
Rating: Summary: Set your spirit free with Butterflies are Free. Review: This movie will change the way you view living. You will learn to set yourself free from the chains and fetters of daily life. The beauty that a blind man sees is immeasurable. Please see this movie for the love of existence.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Atrocious Review: Unbelievable, uninteresting and all-too-predictable story of a blind man falling in love with his attractive neighbor is displayed beautifully preposterous on screen. Good stars are stepped on and wasted in this simply awful film. (Not worth even 1 star; gets a 10% out of 100% from me)
