Rating: Summary: French Stewart is AWESOME! Review: A friend talked me into watching this movie and I am glad I did! The movie is hilarious! I'm not sure how long someone in real life would put up with dating a nut case like Chelsea (Bridgette Wilson) but, as for a movie it was quite funny to watch. Bill Bellamy does an excellent job as Seth's friend and co-worker. The true star of the movie hands down has to be French Stewart. He is at his best. The way he plays Seth is Awesome.
Rating: Summary: Great Date Flick! Hot to tell if she is psycho! Review: Hot to tell if your girl friend is psycho. If she fits the mold of Brigette Wilson, run for the hills. This movie was a downright laugh riot. I know a few women that did not find this movie funny. At the same time I noticed that psycho look in their eye. Must have hit a sore spot with them. It was nice to see a refreshing comedy like this concidering all the teenie-bopper love comedies and old-fogie love stories (like Richard Gere). Finally a love story for the people between 19 and 40! The commentary is enjoyable as well with Stewart, Wilson and the Writer/Director, is funny as well. This is not just a comedy, it is a warning sign to men everywhere!
Rating: Summary: Has it's funny moments Review: First off, if you are engaged or hoping to become engaged, I'd wait until later on to watch this movie as the humor might be hard to find. The plot revolves around a lady who thinks that this guy she has met a wedding is the ONE. While the guy eventually starts dating her, the pressure is put on him to propose to her. She feels her time is being wasted if he won't marry her. As expected, things get ugly. Horribly, vindictive ugly. The kind of ugly you hope no one in real life ever shows, but in a movie can be fairly funny.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Hilarious! Review: One of the funniest movies in the 90's! Genuinely funny... not stupid or gross, but actually intelligently done. Great fun for anyone who's ever had a relationship gone bad. Hilarious performances by French Stewart and Bridgette Wilson (Sampras). Also features Tyra Banks and Bill Bellamy. This movie can be enjoyed by men and women alike, although fellow women may feel it gives women a bad name (all in fun, however!). :) You can't take it too seriously... but it's so much fun!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie...RENT IT! Review: This is the type of film that makes the liberal establishment in Hollywood nuts. No wonder it got such lousy reviews. I think you can pretty fairly say this is the most satisfying film around for any guy who's been taken for a ride by a psycho-chick. (And that's just about all of us.) This movie is LAUGH OUT LOUD funny, and completely audacious in it's conception and execution. I strongly suggest you grab it next time you're at the video store. (Just don't expect to get any if you watch it with your girl.) Jeff Franklin and French Stewart should be proud, and if Hollywood ever gives them 10 cents to make another movie, they should. It was great, guys.
Rating: Summary: Great humor, all in all a great movie!! Review: This movie starts off great and ends even better. It's about two best friends who work together writing for a TV show. When one of the friends gets married, he tries to make his friend think about doing the same. So when Seth (French Stewart) meets a young lady named Chelsea (Bridgette Wilson) at the wedding the group is very excited. Chelsea Who happened to be at the wedding is also best friends with the newly married Wife. But problems quickly begin to surface, his new girlfriend seems to want to get married NOW! But Seth has a bit of a problem with comitment. So after a break up things really begin to heat up with pranks and threats of sueing. So the relationship is really of now!! But is it?? A great movie with good acting French Stewart really does a good job!!
Rating: Summary: The Funniest Movie You've Never Seen (or heard of) Review: I saw this movie recently during my trip to Europe. My girlfriend bought it for me for Valentines Day & I can honestly say that I was reluctant to watch it. French Stewart as a leading man? Come on! He was typecast in my mind as the oddball alien Harry from 3rd Rock From the Sun. As to not look a gift horse in the mouth, we popped in the DVD & the story began. The opening scene in the airplane lavatory between Larry & Seth I thought was kind of cheesy, but when the actual movie began I was pleasantly surprised. (Keep in mind that I went into this thing with the lowest of expectations) Surprisingly enough, I found it quite hilarious. Bridgette Wilson as Chelsea Turner did a wonderful job of playing Seth's psychopathic girlfriend. Things seemed great at first but as the synopsis on the back of the DVD case reads, "Her biological clock is in overdrive & she aims to trap Seth into marriage." French's facial expressions, one liners & monologue whispered under his breath during Chelsea's tantrums were priceless. Steve Hytner as Marty was hilarious as Seth's desperate, lowlife, loser Agent. Without giving anything away, here's an excerpt from "Date Night." Seth: She doesn't even like you. She's just using you to get back at me. Marty: I have no problem with this. Seth: She's a bloodsucking inhuman creature of the night... Spawned from Satan's seed. Marty: Yeah, once again, not a problem. Seth: By the way Marty, when she gets into your pants she's just looking for your wallet. Playing with your ... is just to distract you. Marty: Works for me. This movie is definitely worth a look-see. It is one of those flicks that you won't watch once & store it on your shelf as a dust collector or coaster. I give it 4 stars only because of the cheesy narrated approach they took in the beginning. I must say though, it ended up working out perfectly in the end (Which was a GREAT ending I might add.) Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Never even heard of this! Review: I just stumbled upon this movie because there was nothing else on TV that night! It was SO funny! I can't believe I've never heard of it before. I went online and bought the DVD that same night. It's one movie that you'll have in your collection that no one has seen yet! The critics gave it one star in the cable guide, but everyone that I show it to says "This is hilarious!" So, go ahead and buy it. It's great. I'd ignore the reviewer who gave it one star though. You really shouldn't watch (or rate) a comedy when you take life too seriously and don't have a sense of humor. No, it didn't get an Academy Award. So if you don't expect anything more than a good dose of laughter you'll love it!
Rating: Summary: wast of your time and money Review: This is the most disgusting movie I have ever seen. Nothing funny and happy ending. This film would be made at small cost and wouldn't be worth watching. She has totally stupid ideas and all she thinks of is just let the guy propose to her forcibly. Totally selfish and ridiculous. The only reason that I picked this one was Bridgette Wilson but this was just tasteless and all wrong.
Rating: Summary: pretty good Review: this movie is so cheesy. it's a hard movie to review because it's very stupid but it is also funny. if you want a date safe comedy rent this.
