Rating: Summary: Much better than I thought Review: I'm not a pop music fan, and not a Britney fan, so I'm surprised at how much I liked this movie. Most of the acting was cheesy, the plot was cheesier, but still, I liked it. I thought Britney performed well, which shouldn't be surprising because I think much of her pop star persona is an act anyway. But despite what I think of her in real life, she was so cute in this movie! The story is very predictable and the "real issues" nothing new, but still entertaining. I hated the audition scene though, she's so clearly lip synching! It's a movie for goodness sake, you can do a retake if you mess up! Would have also liked some more substance to the scene with her mother. But all in all, it's a good rent if you're female and you find teen movies a guilty pleasure!
Rating: Summary: Great Job, Brit!! Review: Being a serious Britney Spears fan, I find this movie very fun and very entertaining. It definetly shows that Britney can act sing and do whatever she puts her mind to. This is one of those movies that is so intrigiuing you catch yourself watching it more and more over the time you first saw it. Britney proves a point that she sure rocks and if you dont like her, you can just do your buisiness elsewere.
Rating: Summary: I fairly enjoyed it Review: First of all, I want to say that I'm not a Britney Spears fan, but she did surprised me with this movie. This is her debut movie, and she appeared very natural and convincing in her role. She tested out her dramatic skills with good results. I was surprised also 'cause the movie touched certain topics like teen pregnancy, rape, fidelity, and at first I thought the movies was going to be all about the music. There were parts that were just simply for fun, but were handled really good, like the car-ride sing-along. On the other hand, the only part that wasn't convincing was her confrontation with her mother, 'cause we didn't got to see it, and I think that scene could have shown Britney's potential as a dramatic actress. Overall, to my surprise, a good movie
Rating: Summary: So you might think it's dorky... Review: ...but that doesn't mean it isn't good. For a movie debut, Britney Spears did a fairly good job. Crossroads is a sweet teen comedy that will make you laugh and cry. It also provides ample opportunities for singalong time, as Britney's character, Lucy, does like to sing. You might notice that Britney seems to sing better as Lucy than she does as Britney. Maybe she's a bit more relaxed. There are some odd things about this movie, like how certain characters are tied together...and how the three girls continued their car trip even after they started thinking that their driver was a convicted murderer. I mean, who in their right mind would do that? The DVD's special features are really cool, and you can even edit your own music video for "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman". I'd definitely recommend this DVD for anyone who likes a sweet teen movie and for any Britney fans (esp. the teenybopper ones).

Rating: Summary: I never expected this.... Review: I haven't written a review for a movie in years. I use to write for a few e-zines, but then I didn't see anything worth my time for a while. Well I just finished watching Crossroads (It was 99 cent day at the video store, so I figured what the heck). Well I was surprised when I found myself trully enjoying this film, I have never been a Britney Spears fan, I've never gone in for all the hype, well I was stupid to judge a movie because of the extra hype given it. Britney gives a wonderful preformance and I honestly hope to see her in another movie. The rest of the cast was simply awesome. I found myself cheering them on along there journey across the States, and their journey to life and learning. Some might say this is a chick flick. But so what! We need some dang good movies from time to time and I would say this is a great one. Tomorrow I am buying this one. Sometimes you just have to do what is right for you.
Rating: Summary: It's barely worth watching...unless you're a Britney fan Review: There's nothing really special about this film. I'm surprised it made it to movie theaters instead of just being a made for tv VH1 or MTV movie which is what it should have been. Its not entirely Britney's fault though. I think if she had a better script and if they used better actors, I think their acting abilities would rub off on her and help her become a better actress. Instead they used two other girls that we don't care about and that can't act and made the movie even more ickier. Still...there are WORSE movies out there which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of only one. I'm not anti-britney because I love some of her music, but this is definitely just a video rental (if you like Britney) and not worth buying.
Rating: Summary: An agreable surprise ! Review: Being an absolute Britney-hater myself, I have to admit this movie was really good. Sure it's aimed at teenagers and young adults but the scenario was strong, actors did a good job even Britney herself managed to make you forget who she was. Great job overall, I'm definitely putting this DVD on my Wishlist and so should you :)
Rating: Summary: a quite-good film debut for Britney Review: Britney Spears' film debut CROSSROADS isn't a classic, but its no turkey either. Unlike fellow pop princesses Mariah Carey (GLITTER) and Mandy Moore (A WALK TO REMEMBER), Britney's film foray seems to have been a natural progression. The story concerns Lucy (Britney Spears), a 16-year-old brainiac who goes on a road-trip with her two closest friends; the vivacious Kit (Zoe Saldana) and aspiring singer Mimi (Taryn Manning). Their appointed chauffer is a handsome musician with a "past" (Anson Mount) who, naturally, takes a shying to Lucy and the feeling is mutual. All the road-trip cliches are present in this utterly predictable but oh-so-enjoyable film. Britney's acting isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, and the material is well-suited to her talents. Britney uses her chart-topping single "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" to great affect as an anthem of sorts for her character, who seems to share the same view. Also starring Dan Aykroyd and Kim Cattrall. The DVD includes the trailer, Making-of featurette, pop-up Britney function and a Director's Chair feature where you can make your own Britney music video.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: This is a great movie, you'll laugh, cry, its great. I recommend this movie to everyone who hasnt seen it yet! It's also a great Christmas gift!
