Rating: Summary: Predictable but cute Review: You pretty much know what you are getting with this movie: cute girls, fun adventures, and cheesy heartwarming moments. I think the word to describe this movie is FUN. Great for Britney fans and teens!
Rating: Summary: Nice Coming of Age Story Review: Britney Spear's "Crossroads" was actually a pleasantly surprising and decent "coming of age" story that actually surpassed all expectations on what it would be. Aficionados of teen movies should not overlook this entry into the genre. THE STORY: Lucy (Spears), Mimi (Taryn Manning) and Kit (Zoe Saldana) are three former childhood friends who after graduation decide (for various individual reasons) to go on a cross-country road trip with mysterious rocker Ben (Anson Mount). The cross-country journey metaphorically symbolizes the cast's own voyages of self-discovery as they leave behind their youth and boldly emerge into the world of adult womanhood. THE COOL THINGS: The "self-discovery" story is the true driver of this surprisingly good film. The other added bonuses would be seeing the cool American countryside as the cast makes its way cross-country as well as the pretty hip pop soundtrack. THE DVD SPECIAL FEATURES: Fans of STACKED DVDs will be pleased with this entry. There are tons of cool features on the Crossroads DVD. Here they are: 1. Featurettes: a. 40 Days, the Making of Crossroads. 25 minute featurette that goes behind the scenes into the filming of the movie. b. Taryn's T-shirts: 11 minute featurette that showcases how to make Taryn Manning's (Mimi) cool t-shirts from the Karaoke scene. Eh... c. Zoe's Premiere: 7 minute featurette that follows Zoe Saldana's (Kit) big Crossroad's premiere experience. 2. Deleted Scenes with Introductory Commentary by Director Tamra Davis. 7 scenes altogether. The commentary is helpful and the scenes range from pretty good to "yeah, I can see why they cut it..." 3. Commentary Track with Producer Ann Carli, Director Tamra Davis and Writer Shonda Rhimes. Always insightful... 4. 2 Music Videos: Britney Spear's "Overprotected" and "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" Like most music videos on DVDs, an alright feature... 5. "Break Through Britney": Fun facts that you can access in the movie. Pretty nifty... 6. "Sing Along With Britney": Karaoke versions of "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" and "Overprotected." Now THIS is cool... 7. "Edit Your Own Video": Cool interactive version of "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" where you can pick three pieces of video footage and "edit" your version of the song. 8. Photo Gallery of the Cast 9. 4 trailers THE VERDICT: Overall, the movie is definitely a lot better than you would think it would be on the surface. Reaction to it was at both extremes, you either loved it or lampooned it, however, taking a "middle" ground and watching it for what it is, it's actually a very nice "coming of age" story. The story is definitely something (I would suspect) most older teenage girls could probably identify with. Highly Recommended

Rating: Summary: They need to make a sequel Review: This movie is dope. Brittney gets her grove on, shakes her buttay, and chills with her friends. If you like her music then you will adaore her acting. She's the next marilyn monroe, trust me......
Rating: Summary: Fun and cutesy Review: I watched this movie the other day with my husband because, hell, there wasn't anything else to watch. I expected corny, 'air-head' kind of material. Instead I have to admit, I really enjoyed it! Don't expect anything thought-provoking or profound when watching this film. It's pure girly fun. It made me want to be a teenager again. Interesting twist at the end and I sang right along with the oldies. After seeing a couple of other exremely stupid or over-dramatised teen movies, Crossroads was refreshing and light. All three girls did an excellent job.
Rating: Summary: what a waste of time... Review: there are not enough bad words to describe this film.. it has to be the utmost worst movie i've seen in my entire life.. it made me want to gouge my eyes out afterwards because it was so terrible.. the plot was very weak.. unrealistic at times.. how many times must we see the my-mother-left-me-but-I-know-she-still-loves-me sub plot?.. and how come britney (Lucy), gets everything?.. (sorry for those who haven't seen it yet).. one, she is the valedictorian.. valedictorian?.. i was able to slightly accept that but it goes downhill from there.. two, she happens to be the best singer among them and it is her voice that pulls them out of money trouble (also where she suddenly reveals the stripper in her), which by the way, she recognized with her grand machanic skills that she supposedly acquired from helping her father out at his shop (what a good child..) three, she gets the guy in the end.. big surprise.. four, she gets to sing at the audition at the end even though it was Mimi's original plan.. five, nothing bad happens to her.. i mean, Kit finds out that her fiance is cheating and is the one that raped Mimi.. and then in a rush to get away from the scene, Mimi runs away (why run down a flight of stairs when you're five or so months pregnant?).. which leads to her falling and having a miscarrige.. and britney gets rejected from her mom.. boo hoo.. i was actually glad when that happened.. her good luck streak was sickening.. and how come her dad reacts so calmly when he finds out that his daughter drove across the country and fell in love with a man that he hardly knows?.. my favorite part has to be her 'poem'.. very comical.. one of the many cheezy things in this movie that made me laugh, even though one probably wasn't supposed to.. oh, and one more thing.. it really ticked me off when they where climbing up some type of rock structure to see the lovely view and he says to the pregnant one,Mimi, "are you okay?", or something along those lines and then goes on to help *britney* up the steep and jagged rocks.. what the heck?.. i know you like 'lucy' and all, but the girl's pregnant for goodness sake.. and the predictablilty of this movie is off the charts.. i could work with miss cleo as much as i could predict this movie.. you could have ended it halfway and i still would have known what happens in the end.. the acting was on the verge of 'okay,' but only because the crying and the yelling scenes.. but the storyline and some of the dialogue was absolutely horrible.. but please don't buy this movie.. please please don't.. your money will be better spent on something else.. anything else..
Rating: Summary: This movie could never score 4 stars Review: It is more than clear that Britney cannot act, she shouls stay with music (already losing popularity). This movie also has no plot and it is only a propaganda for her new cd

Rating: Summary: eh Review: I was pleasantly surprised, for i am not very fond of Britney. I think her movie was better than Mandy Moore's, however the love story was a little shallow but it did have more depth than I thought it would. The script wasn't that good with some questionable lines among the characters. I wouldn't say this movie was fantastic, but cute and worth a look.
Rating: Summary: Britney's Movie Debut Review: After watching the movie that Britney not only acted in, but also developed the story for on her own, I knew exactly what she was going for; a feel-good "girlie" movie that teenagers could watch together; maybe at a slumber pary painting their nails together or something. But despite my resentment to Ms. Spears for her stereotypical sense of the bubble-gum blond pop icon, I have to say that the movie wasn't half that bad. For starters, it did have somewhat of a plot, which isn't completely revealed until the end. Also, there are some good songs in the movie, too. However, girls, I feel that if you want a good movie to watch at a slumber party, you should rent Coyote Ugly instead, and just buy Britney's new Cd, because the other half of the movie is a conspiracy where Britney is clad in Abercrombie (who probably paid her to wear their clothes), which is a genius marketing tool, by the way, not to mention the promotion of (surprise!) Britney herself, her new CD; and her favorite t.v. show, Sex and the City, which doesn't need Britney's marketing help, as that is a truly hysterical show on it's own. In short, save your money, and rent it before you buy it.
