Summary: Great Film
Review: This film has a lot of truth, but also is way to far taken at times. Whenever I watch this I feel like the writer has no obvious overview of what it means to be a nerd. The filmed settings are also very dull. I don't recommend buying this film cause you won't enjoy it more than once. I only said the negatives, but there is also a lot of positives. This movies filming is impressive.

Summary: bizarre
Review: there are some movies that you see that just make you scratch your head and say "what the...?". This is one of them. This movie is a story of an unnattractive girl who is the butt of everyone's jokes in a New Jersey junior high but always somehow manages to come up without many scars. She survives rape threats, abuse, unfair prosecution by her teachers and parents, and rejection of every guy she knows but one who isn't all together with it either. so if you are a fan of those strange, twisted adolescent movies, then i suggest you go out and see this one; and even if you aren't, go see it anyway.

Summary: Oh my God! This was my life!!
Review: Well, not exactly. This movie sure does resurrect the woes of a product of suburban dreariness. I loved this movie because it is told very simply, no over-the-top acting, explosions or SFX. Just a summary of the life of an 11 year old geek, whom I'm very surprised still has the will to live!

Summary: Excellent Commentary on Our Sad Culture
Review: The acting wasn't great, but it was certainly adequate. Iespecially enjoyed the performance of the older brother (and hisdreadful rock band). Especially sad, of course, is the life of Dawn, who did not choose her looks or background, but must pay emotionally every day for being born into these circumstances. What a couple of years before was a carefree, innocent little girl turns into a cynical and psychologically damaged young lady who will carry the scars of this experience for the rest of her life. This movie is compelling, occasionally humorous, touching and an excellent commentary on the dark side of human nature and our sad culture. Five stars for effort and truth.

Summary: Heather Matarazzo is a superb young actress!
Review: This is an incredibly powerful black comedy that depicts junior high school in all of its nasty ugliness. For me, the best part of the film was Heather Matarazzo, a wonderful contrast to the typical Shirley Temple/Annette Funicello child star. This kid can act! I was delighted to come across her again in "Devil's Advocate," where she played an equally convincing supporting role.

Summary: Enter the den of reality's depression
Review: This movie portrays the sick world in which we live and does so in a brilliant manner. I found the movie extremely depressing, but not without it's funny qualities. I give the movie five stars, not as a comedy, for it was not made to be such, but as a tragic look into the world that even the younger generations must cope with. I give it five stars for the true purpose of the film.

Summary: For some unknown reason, it makes you feel glued to the TV
Review: The ending was somewhat unsatisfactory. BUT I was definately NOT hoping for a happy one, but it just kind of ended like "huh?". Oh well, It was funny, well acted, and you feel a strange connection and understanding with the characters. Overall, Happiness was better: acting plot and DEFINATELY a better ending....um....you just need to see that one for yourself.....

Summary: This movie shows that "losers" are people too
Review: I loved this movie because when I first saw it I was in 7th grade and It reminded me of how I treat the losers. And i realized that they are people too and that in a sense they are cool too. I mean Dawn treats her sister like crap just like i treat my sister. And dawn used foul language too which I would never think of a typical loser as doing. But all in all this is a hilarious film with a dark deft sense of humor to it. If you havn't seen this movie I definately suggest it and if you have and you didn't like it you have something wrong with you!

Summary: he he he
Review: i guess the people who gave this a bad review either saw too much of themselves in this film or they where hoping for a stupid cheesy comedy(the cover of the film is horrible and misleading). this is a funny film but not funny like most people would think it would be. right, there is not plot and characters are unchanged at the end, but hey, is your life like a movie? this is nothing more than a look at a couple of days of a nerd doomed to have a horrible life. enjoy or shut up.
