Summary: "You didn't think you became popular for real, did you?"
Review: "You did? That's so sweet." I'm a 26 year old guy and I saw "She's All That" seven times in the theater. Anyone with a heart will love with this movie. It does not have the best actors, script, or plot, and it's not even close to being original, but then again, what high school movie is? This is the first film since the John Hughes era which I have completely fallen in love with. I don't like this movie because the stars are good looking, or because of the soundtrack (though Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" helps), but this spin on "Pretty In Pink" meets "Pygmalion" meets "Can't Buy Me Love" has won me over. The beach house flashback, the bet, the expressive theater, the beach , and the party are all great, and the the dance scene is classic ("Right about now..."). Like "Can't Hardly Wait," this is an 80's movie for the 90's, and is a must for the video collection of any lover of the high school genre of film.

Summary: "She's All That"...now here's what high school is all about!
Review: "She's All That" is probably the best movie for teens. But you don't even have to be a teenager to enjoy this movie. The setting of "She's All That", takes place in a town in California at a modern-day high school (the same high school used in the TV show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"...a.k.a. Sunnydale High - well at least the older episodes took place there). It's senior year and the students just came back from spring break. Zack Siler (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is the most popular, coolest, guy in the entire senior class...maybe even the entire school. He's athletic, smart, cool, and rich. Zack comes back to school to find out that his hot-shot girlfriend, Taylor Vaughan (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), dumped him for a TV star, Brock Hudson from "The Real World" (Matthew Lillard) while she was on vacation in Florida with some of her friends. Still stunned and shocked by Taylor dumping him, Zack's best friend, Dean Sampson (Paul Walker), makes a bet with Zack...Zack is supposed to find any average girl to take the place of Taylor, and turn her into the Senior Prom Queen by the time of their Senior Prom. Dean gets to choose the girl...and he chooses Laney Boggs (Rachel Leigh Cook), the artistic, and biggest geek in school! Zack tries to get Laney to go out with her and they end up falling in love...even though Taylor tries to win back Zack! An excellent cast for a great, fun movie with superb performances by Freddie Prinze Jr., Paul Walker, Rachel Leigh Cook, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Matthew Lillard, Anna Paquin, Elden Ratliff, Usher Raymond, Kimberly "Lil' Kim" Jones, Gabrielle Union, Dule Hill, Kevin Pollak, and Kieran Culkin and a special appearence from Sarah Michelle Gellar ["Buffy the Vampire Slayer"] herself. I loved the dance sequence at the Senior Prom. The choreography for the routine was amazing...and the music was awesome, hip, and cool. This a very memorable movie and this really is what high school is all about. Prinze Jr., as Zack, portrays a perfect example of what jocks and popular guys are like in high school. And Cook, as Laney, protrays a perfect example of what all the rest of us high school students are like! One of the actors protrays an outstanding performance that really stands out. He is Kieran Culkin (actor Macualy Culkin's younger brother), who plays Simon Boggs, Laney's younger brother. One thing I think is really funny about this movie (not funny as in "ha, ha" funny but funny as in "strange" funny) is that both Kieran Culkin and Elden Ratliff (Jesse Jackson -- Laney's best friend) both star in the movie, "The Mighty" with Sharon Stone and Gillian Anderson. (That is another good movie I recommend, by the way.) And if you wanna get another view point of high school, then rent or buy "10 Things About You" -- starring yet, another fantastic group of young popular actors including Julia Stiles and Joseph Gorden-Levitt [Tommy, from the TV show, "3rd Rock from the Sun"]. "She's All That" is a great movie you can see again and again without getting tired of it! Go and buy it now!

Summary: A classic...
Review: We all dream of being beautiful, luxerious, and in love. Picture a scrawny, homely girl with classes who spends most of her time in a room doing art. Paint has splattered all over her body from her tedious work. Imagine the hottest jock approaching you asking you out.

What would you say?

Zack is given a bet to ask out any "Non Hottie" to prom. He says that he can turn the date upside down into a real knocker. Zack meets Laney Boggs, asks her, and gets her approval.

Follow them as they hang out, watch the classic trip down the stairs to the song "Kiss Me" and laugh out loud.

The movie shows us that we all are beautiful on the outside and inside. And some of us don't care to show it on the outside, even though we already are.

Summary: two guys make a bet after one gets dumped by popular gf
Review: If you're a teen like me and like these new teen movies that are coming out, then I absolutely recommend that you see this movie. The two leads in this movie played by Freddie Prinze Jr.(Zach) and Rachel Leigh Cook (Laney) are a great duo. They perform well together and are a great team. Also, Zach's bestfriend played by Paul Walker helps to make this movie what it really is.

When school starts Zach (Prinze) who is the popular, jock gets dumped by his popular girlfriend Taylor (Jodi Lyn O' Keefe) after spring break. So he's left dateless for the very important prom. With a little provoking from his not so sensitive bestfriend (Walker) he bets that he can make any girl into a prom queen only eight weeks before the big event. The victim of their bet: Laney (Cook), a nerdy art student too busy with art to help her dad and brother, and also to make a social life. However, a couple of looks from Zach and a couple of dates, Laney's heart begins to melt, and her appearance at school soars. Then before you know it Zach's falling for her and she's falling for him. Only problem, Zach's bestfriend tries to ruin it for Zach by asking Laney to the prom. Then Laney finds out about their bet and wants nothing to do with Zach. But sooner or later with a little swooning from Zach her heart belongs to him again and Taylor is left out in the cold. So as you can see this is a great movie that is wonderful, and really keeps your attention while the movie is playing. It's kind of like a newer version of Cinderella only instead of a fairy godmother she's got a hunky guy, and ALL THAT. Well, this movie is guaranteed to charm the socks off of you. So if you are looking for a romantic comedy this movie is for you.

Summary: rachel rocks
Review: I absolutly adore Rachel Leigh Cook who plays Laney in this movie, I have seen many of her movies, Josie and the pussycats, Tom and Huck, The Babysitters Club, of course She's all that, and more she's just an amazing beautiful and talented actress. She brings such honestly and virtue to all her characters and while being beautiful she's not the kind of beautiful where she looks unapprochable, she looks like she would be a normal down-to-earth person that could of easily went to your school. I think she's absolutly adorable. I love her little girl face.

Like I said she plays Laney, a high school senior who is the "geek" of her high school she's known as the ugly duckling. It's obvious that the people who did this movie realized it's impossible to make it a total transformation like in The Princess Diaries cause Rachel can't go from downright ugly and sad to stunningly beautiful like others can because she's naturaly beautiful and her beauty doesn't come from makeup a fancy hairdo or a skimpy outfit. But they made an effort to give her plain nothing special long hair, big glasses and a clumsy nature to make her an ugly duckling. But Cook took what she had to work with and slamdunked it.

Freddie Prinze Jr. plays oppisite of Rachel as Zach the most popular guy in school who seemed like he had everything going for him. Cute, popular, smart, dating the hottest girl in school who is up for prom queen, a jock, your typical popular guy. But when his girlfriend Taylor (played by the beautiful and talented Jodi Lyn O'Keefe who often gets the sexy and popular but downright bit**y roles thrown at her. But she's still one of my favorites) comes back from spring break, she also comes back with a new tattoo and a new famous boy toy (played by the always goofy Matthew Lillard) so she drops Zach like a hot burrito which is a major burn to his ego and reputation.

Zach's best friend (played by sexy Paul Walker from the fast and the furious movies) offers him a bet. He gets to pick a girl for Zach to date and transform into prom queen material in only a few weeks and whoever loses has to go to graduation naked. Zach agrees, and guess who he picks. You guessed it, Laney. At first Laney is totally turned off by Zach's sudden interest but slowly starts to hang out with him and as she does Zach's little sister gets rid of the glasses cuts her hair and gives her makeup and a little red dress and suddenly Laney is known as Taylor's competition for prom queen and Zach becomes smitten for real.

Laney has to deal with Taylor who when her new boy toy kicks her to the curb suddenly wants to pick Zach back up but of course he's not interested anymore cause he likes Laney and this makes Taylor jealous at Laney. She also has to deal with Zach's friend who arranged the bet and picked Laney thinking he was sure to win the bet but now feels threatened and so decides to try to get Laney for himself and make Zach look like a jerk to her.

The attraction between Laney and Zach is undeniable and when he starts hanging around her she inspires him to be a nice guy and to look at where his future is headed.

The whole cast is great and it's a lot better protrayal for teens and more believeable then other teen movies are. It's a funny, touching story that I think everyone will love especially teenagers.

Summary: The Ugly Duckling Into A Swan Story . . .
Review: ... Except it's more like a swan into a swan story! No one can make Rachael Leigh Cook ugly, or "nerdy". Put a pair of a glasses on her and that's it. Big wow. It worked with Miss Congeniality. Anyway, enough of me moaning about pretty girls. This is one of those films that I love. Still a teenage film, but not a slasher movie. The two main characters don't totally click - I didn't find it anyway - and Freddie Prinz Jnr just gets on my nerves. He plays the same guy in every single film; Down To You, I Still Know, and probably some other films that I've seen but can't remember. Rachael Leigh Cook plays the part of Laney brilliantly. Even underneath the glasses, you can see she can look beautiful, even though wearing a tarty little red dress, and making her enemy into a clown doesn't really make her better. The reason she doesn't wear makeup etc, is cos her MOM died - just to be american! The best thing about this film is the dance sequence at the prom (if you look closely, the actual main characters can't keep in time with the extras!), and the fact that Freddie Prinz Jnr stops being a high school jerk and becomes almost human towards the end.

Summary: it's all bad
Review: This is the last ripple in the wave of teenage movies that gripped the nation in the late 1990s. A la Pygmalion, My Fair Lady and Pretty Woman, a girl looked down by general society gets a makeover by a respected man and everyone loves her. yay!

But this is the most boring version yet! It is nice that Freddie Prinze Jr's character is a popular jock who is also on the honor roll -- but that's it for changes and surprises. Unless you count the fact that everyone at the prom does a synchronized choreographed dance. Watch if it is on TV, but don't spend actual money on it.

Summary: This exemplifies what is bad about "teen movies"
Review: Not only is this film completely predictable, it is also entirely implausible. Cook is simply NOT believable as the "ugly duckling." The characterizations are one-dimensional, and the plot twists are as stagey and disconnected as would be in a high school skit.

Is it any wonder that this was the primary source for "Not Another Teen Movie"?

Summary: Worst...movie...ever
Review: Who was the genius that pooped out this little gem? I have seen some wretched movies in my day. Movies that made me roll my eyes, slap my forehead, and even yell "that's BULLS___!!" to a packed theater. This movie takes the motherhumpin' cake. It's worse than Batman and Robin, the Avengers, and Varsity Blues put together. I HATE THIS MOVIE! It's so formulated and stupid. Ugly chicks are ugly if they have glasses or not. Believing anything different will cause much embarassment to high school guys. (Paper bags work better). No one freestyle raps about what's going on with the popular kids in school, and no one does a choreographed dance routine to a fatboy slim song at their f___ing prom! ARGH! I also hate freddy prince junior. Once his looks dry up, he ain't gonna be s___. Hey freddy, see you at the methodone clinic in a couple years! punk ass.
my girlfriend owns this movie, and one of these days when she pisses me off, i'm gonna smash it with a hammer. just looking for an excuse....
AVOID AT ALL COSTS INCLUDING CHEWING OFF YOUR OWN ARM!!! It's really that bad.
