Review: Hey, I saw this movie and I tremendously enjoyed it. I've read the reviews, and if you don't like it, there is something missing from your life, maybe a little fun and pleasure. But, if you did enjoy it as much as I did, you would rate it as best.

Summary: Great Concept Falls Short
Review: It still baffles my mind that critics like Siskel and Ebert found this movie extraordinary. I remember Roger Ebert actually saying "movies like this one were why he became a critic in the first place." The whole idea behind this movie is a great one, but the story itself is what makes this movie only a faint memory in my mind. Here's a big problem, most every camera shot used was that of the perspective of what an actual T.V. viewer of The Truman Show would see. This makes it hard for us as the viewer to really get close to Truman's character. And another note, do we need to have the T.V. show creator's name be Christos, the symbolism in this movie is enough to choke a horse. If you want to see a really good movie that is along these lines rent EdTV, I'll grant you it is not a high concept movie, but I found myself more enthraled with the characters and the story than in The Truman Show. And if you think Carrey should have been nominated for Best Actor for this, rent The Cable Guy and see what an excellent actor he really is.

Summary: Absolutely brilliant! Jum Carrey is Oscar worthy!
Review: One of the best movies ever made. a brilliant commentary on the state of our consumersist society that has placed the media at its center. Effective, becuase it criticizes both the Televison industry at the society that helps suppport it by watching anything. I teach a college English course, and I use this movie in my class to help teach the hidden messages of pop culture. Plus, you get to see proof that Jim Carrey is one of the country's finest actors. A breakthrough film.

Review: Whatever you might have expected from "The truman Show" - this is AMAZING!! I've never seen Carrey act more brilliant like that - he made us laugh, he made us think and he made us cry - this is entertainment at its BEST.... who else is able to do that to millions of people? Go on like that, jim - you're a real Seewtie-Pie - and you're FANTASTIC!!!!!

Review: This movie, was an absolute favorite of mine. I saw it, and it reminded me of some things, and it made me realize how messed up people can be for money. I really enjoyed this one a lot and I'd suggest this movie to anyone and everyone!

Summary: Breathtaking
Review: The Truman Show is an outstanding movie with an outstanding cast. It ranks as my second favorite movie of all-time (the Star Wars saga being my fave!). After I saw it in the theatre, I was staring at everything and everyone, wondering if this was the actual world or just some big bubble. Peter Weir, you are a genius!!!

Summary: Very hyped and not delivery the goods
Review: I was sadly let down by this movie. After all the hype - I found way too many faults to enjoy it. The fact that he was such an incredibly dull person - that did the same thing everyday - amazed me that people would bother watching him for one hour let alone his whole life! He would also have to have been the dumbest person ever to walk this earth - only waking up to strange events when he's in his late 30's! Peter Weir is a brilliant director - 'Gallipoli' being a superb movie and 'Dead Poets Society' a true credit to him and Robin Williams. The Truman Show was a complete disappointment!

Review: The Trueman Show displays a great storyline, unlive any seen before, and some of the most amazing acting ever seen. It has to be the clost thing to a perfect film, the actors really get into their characters.

Summary: Truman gets a break from timing of release date...
Review: Seeing this movie in the theatres made me gain a new appreciation for Jim Carrey. Having only seen a couple of movies he had starred in, liking about half of them (he's much more appealing as normal guy in abnormal situations than nutcase off his rocker, i.e. Dumb & Dumber and Ace ventura), I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. Fantastic satire on the new fascination with RealTV that MTV and Fox have made their new thing. Although it's a good thing this was released earlier than Pleasantville and EdTV, otherwise it would've been the copycat. Good viewing.

Review: This is the absolute best movie ever. If you name it, this movie has it. (Ecept sex, language, and violence, but that's a good thing.) I saw it six times in the theater, and I've rented it ten. Can't wait for the video!
