Summary: Captivating ending
Review: This movie makes me laugh, makes me cry, and makes me think...There is so much to be amused by in this film. For instance, Jim Carey's acting, which always seems to amuse me. After watching it a few times, you catch onto the lines and start talking along with the movie. Atleast, that's what I found myself doing. The ending is just about the most captivating half hour of film I've ever seen. Truman Burbank(Jim Carey's character) found all the answers at the very end, and that scene really touched me. The music in this movie is also well-done. It fits each scene perfectly.

Summary: Is Someone Watching?
Review: Is someone watching? This was the thought that shot through Truman Burbanks mind as he went through his every day routines. Little did he know the question 'Is someone watching' was really the understatement of the millennium. A whole planet was watching Truman. His life was broadcasted uncut 24 hours a day, around the globe on the Truman Network.

The world watched each day as Truman's life unfolded until one day Truman sets out to find the answers. To find whether someone truly was watching. He did the impossible he found freedom; he found his way out. He got through all of the Network's hurdles that they thought would hinder his freedom and keep him there for the world to view.

I recommend buying this DVD or VHS as soon as you get the chance.. I own the DVD. As said the movie is superb there is nothing however impressive about the extra DVD features. Since this is such a great movie it makes up for the lack of dvd features. This is a movie that deserves what it did not achieve. It did not clean house at the Awards but should have. Jim Carry is worthy of a Best Actor Award for his performance.

Buy this movie today! You wont be disappointed!

Summary: Great movie, with a great performance by Jim Carrey
Review: This is a great movie directed by Peter Weir (Fearless). The movie touches a delicate subject: the right of a person to have their freedom and privacy. The aesthetic of the movie made me recall Tim Burton (Especially Edward Sissorhands). That strange world make you question about how much is worth living observed, and in a world outside the real world. Jim Carrey offers one of his best performances. It is here where he demonstrates that he is an excellent actor capable to make deep roles, instead of just a silly comedian who plays silly roles as "Ace Ventura" or, more recently, "Me, Myself & Irene".

Summary: A Pleasant Diversion
Review: In an age where the most recent TV shows revolve around surving with a group of stangers on a deserted island, and even more voyueristic, a show about a household of people who are on camera 24 hours a day, this movie seems remarkably cliched, but when it came out it was fresh and new.

The plot centers around a man named Truman Burbank, played by Jim Carrey. From his birth, he has been the subject of a TV show in which everyone he knows is not really who he thinks they are, but merely actors playing a role. He alone is unaware of this fact.

As the movie progresses, he gradually becomes aware that all is not right. From the very beginning, when a camera with the ID of "Sirius" falls from the sky, narrowly missing him, he notices strange things happening.

Carrey, remarkably, was snubbed for a Best Actor nomination, and the picture only got a Best Director nom, but didn't win even that. Subsequent veiwings have, in light of those recent actual TV shows, made this movie less fascinating than it originally was, but it still is interesting.

Summary: don't expect straight comedy
Review: Well, as my title suggests, this movie doesn't work as much as a comedy than it does as a description ofmediocrity or deception. In the end, it is a hihgly emotional movie. Just imagine how it would feel if you'd find out that you've been living in a fake world for your whole life! At first it seemed a little confused and felt like difficult to approach, but towards the end it turned just fine. One of the most interseting movie of the recent 2-3- years, but maybe not among the best.

Summary: cashback!
Review: Great acting here, never get tired of watching again. Definitely a masterpiece to stay.

It's nice of Hollywood to try to give us some of our good judgment and reasoning they are "borrowing" from us on regular basis.

Jim Carrey - what a range. From Dumb and Dumber to Liar-Liar and this Truman Show too.

But don't get paranoic -- we are not walking in Truman's shoes on that island yet I hope.

"Cue the sun!" :D

Summary: Truman Show is Like a Twighlight Zone Episode
Review: As I was watching this, I kept thinking that this would have fit right in during the 1960s with Burgess Meredith playing Truman! This is perfect material for a Twilight episode! This is probably the reason why I liked Truman Show because I am such a fan of the Twilight Zone. I liked the scenes where Truman started to figure out that "something" was not right. One of the best lines is "Cue the sun!"(You will have to watch it to figure that one out). The performances were all outstanding. Jim Carrey should have won the oscar for this one.Music soundtrack is also exciting. This is a non-sequel type film so don't look for a Truman Show II!

Summary: ...and the world keeps watching!
Review: Jim Carey shines in his first serious dramatic role. The premise is fresh and provocative. -- The title character is followed from birth by a network of cameras, capturing each motion, each sound, each action the subject ever takes. For 30 years Truman does not detect that everyone he has ever encountered is "acting" out a part in the show of his life, broadcast globally 24 hours a day with Truman being the main character. -- This movie would be sad, if not for the gratifying finale. Jim Carey has finally joined the 5-star league!

Summary: One of the best movies of the year
Review: It is hard to believe that Jim Carrey wasn't nominated for a bunch of academy awards for his role in "The Truman Show" because it's probably his best role so far. All of Jim Carrey's family and friends are actors under the direction of the director (Ed Harris) who has seen all of Mr. Truman's life from the time he was born up to now. A camera is always following Mr. Truman (Jim Carrey) and is broadcast live around the world 24/7 on a popular television channel called "The Truman Show." Mr. Truman becomes somewhat weary of what is happening and that's when the movie gets even more interesting.

I recommend anybody to get "The Truman Show" so you can find out if and how Jim Carrey can escape the cameras and have some freedom for the first time in his life. "The Truman Show" isn't the funniest movie that Jim Carrey has been in, in fact it's more of a drama movie, but it is just as entertaining as any of his other movies.

Summary: Australian Director's Greatest Triumph.
Review: This is one of the best movies of the nineties... funny yes..sad yes...but most of all a chilling reminder of the infinite effects television has on our lives. One of the most moving pieces of cinema I have ever witnessed..when TRUMAN realises what his life has been...will long stay in my memory. Carrey is brilliant...his best role ever..Ed Harris is superb as the bad guy... The soundtrack is exceptional...the photography brilliant and the tight editing never allows the film to labour at any time. The film is on my shopping list when released on DVD in Australia...i cant wait... This blackest of comedies deserves six stars!
