Summary: One of the greatest films ever made!
Review: What can I say that hasn't already been said about this wonderful film. I think it is one of Bogey's best along with the Maltse Falcon and The African Queen. Bergman, Heinreid, Rains, Greenstreet, Lorre and Veidt complete the best cast ever!

The DVD is a must for any collection! There are plenty of added goodies on the disc.

Summary: Greatest love story ever made!
Review: This movie has all the elements of a classic. It's romantic, smart, and well-written. Even if you're not a fan of love stories, you will appreciate how well made this film is. Bogart's performance is one of the best ever in a movie. The music and words come together to create what may be the best film of all time. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Possibly the most perfect movie ever made! It has everything
Review: I own an copy of the original script, own the black and white version of the movie, and have various posters, etc. celebrating this movie. Having said that...you owe it to yourself to see this movie with no car crashes, just really good writing, and brillant acting from all parties. It's so much more than a love story.Good plot, script, director, and actors. The set would not win any awards today, but still worth the bucks to rent and see for yourself.

Summary: My Personal Favorite of All Time
Review: There's a reason that everyone loves Casablanca. It has every element of a great film: star-studded cast (Bogart, Bergman, Lorre, Henreid, Greenstreet, etc.), mystery, drama, romance. This edition features the original theatrical trailer and a great documentary following the movie narrated by Bergman's real daughter, Lauren Bacall. This is a must-see for any and every generation!

Summary: "CASABLANCA - A MUST SEE FOR ALL AGES
Review: Casablanca is arguably the most popular picture from Hollywood's Golden Age. Filmed in Black&White and released in 1943, this film, directed by Michael Curtz (Yankee Doodle Dandy, Sea Wolf, Night & Day) has a "who's-who" all-star cast including Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Claude Raines and Peter Lorry. Oscar nominations went to Bogart, Raines, Max Steiner (Score), and won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Direction. Make no mistakes, this was a Block-Buster of a film. Quick Plot: Bogart plays "Nick", a funcioning alcoholic ex-patriot who runs a nightclub/casino in Casablanca, a French territory on the northwest coast of Africa at the beginning of World War II. Nick pours himself into his work running a crackerjack operation, liaising with the locals and giving drinks to Raines who play the lovable currupt French Army Captain. When Bergman shows up by chance with her husband, looking to buy their way out of Casablanca to get to America, we find out that Bogart and Bergman had been lovers in war torn France during the German occupation years before. Bogart begins drinking again and that's where the fun starts. Bogart ends up obtaining fake passports for Bergman and husband and as the Germans move into Casablanca, things heat up. This is a love story/adventure that holds universal appeal to all ages and transcends the barriers of time. There is something for everyone here and there's plenty of action to keep things moving. An excellent "date" movie, it deserves 5 stars.

Summary: Definately not all it's cracked up to be
Review: Now that my synopsis line has made everyone mad, let's be open minded. This is a good film. Definately one of the best that the first half of this century has to offer. But really, a "perfect film" as it has been called so often? What about the poorly timed and ineffectively executed fist slamming scene Bogart has during his late night drinking binge? There are hundreds of problems like that with this film; little things and big things that permeate this film. Again, I thought it was good, but I can count dozens of movies off the top of my head that I enjoyed a LOT more. The dialogue is good, the acting is good, the visuals are good, the movie is good.

The DVD is worth having. It's clean, it's pretty, and it has some neat stuff on it. But please, can we get off the "perfect film" thing?

Summary: You want suspense, adventure, and romance then get this movie!
Review: I truly loved this movie. I liked the way Rick acted when he saw Ilsa for the first time, and the very end when she got on the plane. I would definitely watch this movie again, and so should you.

Summary: Humphrey Bogart at his Best!
Review: Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman win all the honors with this film. Bogart captures honor, love, and humor all in the same picture. Few films have combined the human emotions of love and honor as perfectly as Casablanca. The film is a necessary addition to any DVD collection. I give it the highest possible rating and a definate buy!

Summary: Not as good as it was cracked up to be
Review: The plot was interesting and the characters were well acted, but their seemed to be so little character development that despite that excellent actors, the charcters came off as two-dimensional people.
