Summary: Bogie and the Theme Song, Cannot Be Topped
Review: This is the greatest movie ever made. The music, setting, actors/actresses, and the sets make this the best of all movies. Rick was a better man than I. I have to be honest, I would have taken the exit visas and Bergman and left Victor in Casablanca. But, then again, I do not have Rick's standards.

Summary: The DVD is magic
Review: I have seen Casablanca dozens of times -- the script's lines have been incorporated into our language like Shakespeare's. But watching this DVD is a like seeing the movie for the first time -- the clarity and crispness is stunning. I have to comment on those who say this story is "predictable." In fact, as the making-of documentary shows, the actors themselves did not know how the story would end -- it was being rewritten while shooting was already going on.

Summary: A MASTERPIECE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD.
Review: I absolutly loved this movie. I watched it my history class in school never seen it and only heard of it and it's stars. To my enjoyment it turned out to be a very good movie. There's so much to love about it from the acting the story the backdrop the performances or the music. it all is a wonderful combonation For starters the story in it is very well written. The story is so good, very good character development and what not. The backdrop still looks very good although a bit dated it still looks very good. The performances from all are excellent mainly Bogart&Bergman have such an on screen presence it's so romantic. and i really liked Claude Reins and the police chief he is really good. and the score from Max Stiner is excellent. I wish they would re-release it into theaters it would be such and experience to see it on the big screen.

Summary: GREATEST FILM EVER
Review: Casablanca is undoubtedly the greatest film to ever grace the screen. This intriguing story and touching yet star crossed love saga is often masked in the standards it set. Everyone has heard "heres lookin at you kid" or this is the start of a beautiful friendship but if the viewer only takes these phrases, that person has missed out on a lot more. The amazing performance by Bogart as a sarcastic yet hopeless romantic is simply spectacular and the entire cast makes up a motley crew of characters that makes Casablanca intriguing at every viewing. It is boldly shown why "everyone comes to Rick's"

Summary: A touching, timeless Curtiz classic
Review: Casablanca is undoubtedly the movie Michael Curtiz is most known for directing. It is perfectly understandable that this is so. "Casablanca" is one of the most well-done movies I have ever seen, and I've seen many a good movie. I won't waste time outlineing the story, I'm sure you've all heard it before. Humphery Bogart and Ingrid Bergman are superb as Rick and Ilsa, and set the standard for how acting should be done. Tragically, acting quality has diminished over the years. "Casablanca" is a terrific movie with a perfect blend of witty sarcasm, saddness and patriotism. A movie everyone should see, two hours isn't such a long time to take out of your schedule. Enjoy it as I have.

Summary: Casablanca is best because it reflects reality
Review: Casablanca is simply the best Hollywood film ever made. Its script is flawlessly constructed and flows evenly, with magnificent performances by all involved. The best thing about the movie seems to be that it is efficient: every scene and every line adds something to the story. Not a moment is wasted. While not the best performance in his legendary career, Humphrey Bogart is unforgettable as Rick: the reclusive nightclub owner. Bogart plays the role with restraint and sincerity and best of all, follows the flow of the story in that he doesn't lay all of his cards on the table immediately. Ingrid Bergman lights up the screen like no other leading lady ever has with that stunningly angelic visage. And, during a time of wholesale segregation in American society, I thought Dooley Wilson held his own well as Bogie's piano playing sidekick. Casablanca doesn't pander to the audience with classic romanitcism. If it were produced today, Hollywood would have Bogie get the girl, keep the bar, and win the war single-handedly. Sadly, he doesn't on all fronts, but that is part of what makes the movie magical--it is pretty much like real life.

Summary: great movie, terrible dvd
Review: the movie, of course, is fantastic. but it's nothing short of offensive that MGM released this classic in anything other than widescreen format.

Summary: simple and naive
Review: Described as one of the top-10 movies of all time... I naturally had high expectations of it. However, the plot and the entire storyline are uncomplicated, very predictable, and naive. I assume it was made for mass audience, and at the time it was released, it may have been a hit. However, now it is more of a sleeping pill.

Summary: So cool
Review: I had choose this movie as a social studies project and it was so cool. I'm going to go and watch it again
