Rating: Summary: A wonderful movie. Review: I don't know what you people who said this movie was "boring" are sniffing, but it's sure strong stuff. You have to be either brain-dead or stoned not to recognize the pure greatness of this movie. I was first introduced to "Schindler's List" in seventh grade (I'm in 9th now) in a course dealing with human nature. Though some of the other kids in my class thought it was a boring, disgusting, pointless movie (--these were mostly kids who still believe that "Rambo" is the height of cinematic entertainment--), I was stunned by how incredibly GOOD it was. I found myself trying to hold back tears as I sat at my desk and watched it in the classroom. The movie's plot itself is enough to make you cry; the way it is done--namely, excellently--only adds to the emotion that Speilburg succeeded in conveying. No dinosaurs or space aliens this time, folks. Speilburg has proven that he needs neither to make this film work. It is one of those movies that you only need to see once to appreciate. An absolutely wonderful film that will go down in the history books as a great accomplishment.
Rating: Summary: This film is humanity. Review: It's hard to put this film into words... It goes to such great depths with its meanings. It has a message, but it is on a level without words, far removed from words, deeper even than emotion, more complex. The immensity of it all, its shape, form, presentation... The reality of it all. Not the historical reality, if the Holocaust had never happened it would still be as powerful... It's the human reality. The extremity, the variation. Wonder and sadness at the horror and the beauty of the human creature. Not one at one and the other at the other, but both at both, thoughts of truth and essence. I've seen this movie twice, so far. It isn't yet time for a third. This is a film deservin of many, many viewings, but its power requires time, a great deal of time. The thought of it, it in its essence, any one sound or image or word is still enough to bring it all back. It is not a film to be watched for entertainment or contemplated for sake of message or commentary, but so much more, aeons more... I can't put into words why one should see this film, only that they should. It does something to you, essential and indefinite... As best I can say, it made me a human. It helped me to overcome my preoccupation with living long enough to remember that I was alive, and I am grateful to it and its maker for that. This is the greatest movie ever made. It may well be the greatest work of art ever made. I can't imagine something more, I don't know... I don't know what this film is, but I can't imagine something being more than it.
Rating: Summary: A review from Mr. Entertainment Lover Review: First off let me say this movie isn't for entertainment, neither was it meant to be entertaining. Most R-rated movies are made R for entertainment value. This is not the case. Steven Spielberg portrays a very sad and emotional story with this film. A man named Oskar Schindler starts out as an uncarring man and then changes into a very compassionate man who ends up saving a lot of Jews from the concentration camps. Speaking of those camps, their are parts in this film that get so emotionally terrible you'll have to close your eyes. The whole movie is beautifully written and well acted. Liam Neeson was extrodinary as Schindler and deserves plenty of awards. This film will make you cry. It's a movie worth being seen once. All hail Steven Speilberg for his excellent directing ability with an excellent movie we'll never forget.
Rating: Summary: An artistic achievement of incredible value!!!!! Review: Watching this surely classic film, was one of the saddest experiences of my life. For the entire four hours the movie went on, I could hardly stop crying. Seeing the suffering of an entire people is more than a lot of people can take, so I do not recomend this to everyone. I do however recomend it to people when they think they are ready. The halocaust is one of the worst times in the existence of the human race, we must learn from others so that we can learn from ourselves and prevent something like that from ever happening again. See this movie, but brace yourself for a sad, but wonderful learning experience. Mr. Steven Spielberg did an incredible job in the directing of this movie, the cinematography is brilliant. Overall, a brilliant film
Rating: Summary: I COULD NEVER GET ENOUGH OF THIS MOVIE! Review: Schindler's List is an excellent movie, even though it is sad. Steven Speilsberg has done such a great job directing this movie. This movie is worth 5 stars, and it is emotinally for other people. But the journey is incredible. And the movie has a happy ending. I say it's the best movie of 1993. 7 Oscars to this movie will refer people that it's remarkable!
Rating: Summary: A must see!!!!! Review: I can't express enough how important this movie is only because it shows us the downfall of our own power and what hate can do . This movie was directed by a genius Steven Speilburg. He did a outstanding film , and for those who want to know about the holocaust and about what really happened in the Nazi camp pull out your tissue because it is a sad movie only because it really happened ! I give it 5 outstanding stars for Schindler's List. !!!not for people who hate to see blood or the VERY emotional!!!
Rating: Summary: It's the most incredible film, it is history! Review: It is about human beeing. It's real en absolutely terrifying, but it is good that we can see what happened, only fifty years ago! It's almost unbelieveble that this happened. The movie is very real and Liam neeson and the other players act very good and believeble, my compliments!
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest movies ever Review: This is most definatly one of the most wonderful movies I have ever seen. It can move anyone to tears. Liam Neeson is an excellent actor, and he demonstrated this in this movie. He played a wonderfully charming Oscar Schindler, enough to make any woman fall in love with him! Rent this movie. You'll love it
Rating: Summary: Not exactly the kind of movie you want to see twice! Review: Yes, SCHINDLER'S LIST is a great film! But it's also about humanity at its absolute worst --- and that makes for a less-than-entertaining movie-going experience! Yes, it's very important that we remember all the people who died in the Holocaust, but NO, I don't want to repeatedly witness a re-creation of it on film! Once was quite enough, thank you!
Rating: Summary: this movie was incredible!!! Review: it blew my mind!but it aws a litt too slow for me. I am glad though that it won for best picture in '93, and this epic film along with SAVING PRIVATE RYAN just goes to show that Mr.Spielberg is one of the best!!
