Summary: Great film, just too contrived.
Review: David Fincher seemed too preoccupied in making the definitive serial killer movie. It's evident he had his sights set on surpassing, "The Silence of the Lambs." Not even close. As a matter of fact I thought "Manhunter" was a superior movie. Don't get me wrong Seven is a great movie, but not in the same league of Hannibal the Cannibal.

Review: I saw SE7EN 3 times until now on VHS & in TV but still very NEW to me; this movie is one of the best in the decade with out any doubt.David Finsher made a magnificent job in it like all his movies (including Alien 3 that I like), and believe me this picture is the best in the nineteen's.

Summary: Superb
Review: Words can simply not describe Fincher's visual genius. Every scene in this movie, especially the crime scenes, are masterfully shot. Visually and aurally, this movie knocks the socks off any crime drama I've ever seen. The script is great- the chemistry between Mills and Somerset was intense, and amusing at times. Also, the seven deadly sins idea was incredible as well. Never have I seen a more impressive film, spare Fight Club (another one by Fincher, surprise surprise). This is great stuff, and might just require a second viewing. Supplemental material is good too. -Dan

Summary: Brilliant and well-cast
Review: There's nothing bad to say about this film. The performances are all excellent and the movie is gripping. It's original and the ending is completely surprising. It's in a similar style to "Fight Club" in that the director took another social issue--the decline of "morality" in this case--and made us think twice about both the victims and the perpetrators, and twice about right and wrong.

Summary: very twisted pschycololgical thriller/horror
Review: wow! this film is so creepy it gives you nightmares....from the starting credits onwards you realise just how dark and screwed up it is. Whoever thought up the credits should get a pat on the back! they really make you shudder.The whole film is very dark, and at times it is unclear what is happening as many scenes are set in dingy flats that apparently have no lighting!However this does a lot for the suspense and overall underworld atmosphere.
i dont think there was enough of gyweth paltrow, she wasnt a very developed character and i think that takes away slighty from the plot, perhaps because it seems as though brad pitt(her husband)is very distant.
be warned......the murder scenes them selves arent all bad (except the sloth one) but some of the descriptions and photos after are stomach churning. i think that one of the things that makes the murderer disturbing in this film is his control and calculation, which is a lot worse than loads of violence(although that is a large part of his power as well). he makes people do what he wants just by talking to them, for example the grand finale.
one point i am confused on is the lust murder. i have no idea what happened!! the part where they interviewed the "customer" did not make much sense, mainly because i was distracted by trying to figure out what the picture they were handing around was...bondage?!! please someone tell me, it bugs me.
i really like this film, the acting was brilliant and the script was well written with several references to books in connections that gave the plot depth. the kind of film you want to see again.

Review: SE7EN is the most brilliant film I have ever seen. It's the type that once you see it, it leaves a dark, gloomy image tatooed in your mind.
It has an excellent cast with a villian so creepy, so ingenios that not even Dr. Lectur could match wits with him. Plus, most films are based on actual killers, but not this one. This villian is so twisted that no one in the real world could compare to him.
(The Silence of the Lambs is nothing compard to the genious of this movie!)
Last, it has an ending that will send chills up your spine that will last in your mind.

Summary: Too creepy for many viewers
Review: Typically I love scary, suspenseful movies & books, but this was just too creepy. Most people do not want to think there are such depraved, sadistic psychopaths on the streets. The fact that there surely are people as sick as this serial killer is too frightening. I was "creeped out" for days & I'm not squeemish. I loved the books "Kiss the Girls," and "Red Dragon" and the movie "Silence of the Lambs" so it's not that I can't handle this genre. I worry what effect this type of movie has on those who are on the verge of psychosis. This is one of the few times I've felt a book or movie went too far. I'm not one of those censorship happy people, but I feel the director or studio should have toned this down for the sake of the public. It is well-written, acted, and filmed -- I'd give it 4 stars if I didn't feel so strongly that no one needs to see something this disturbing. It's not so much the visual images shown, as it is the gory details given in the dialogue between the detectives that makes this so disturbing.

Summary: BRILLIANT!!!
Review: God I love this movie! This is one of the most suspensful movies. I can't say enough about how unbelievably brilliant it is. I absolutely adore Morgan Freeman, especially in this movie. His name was written all over the character when the script was written. No one else would have even come close to his performance, and Brad Pitt pairs with him perfectly for the part as his partner. And of course we can't forget about Kevin Spacey. Wow! This movie gives me goosebumps it's so good! The ending just blows you away. One of the best movies ever! Extremely suspenseful! You will love it!

Review: The film itself is excellent. One of the best thrillers. It
of course isn't something you can watch over and over and be
as entertained as the first time around. So the extra
features sounded very cool and probably worth the money. The packaging is again, very cool with an eye to detail. The
content of the extra features is quite lacking. For instance,
it claims to have two alternative endings to the film. Well
it really does not. It has a different partial filming of one
that isn't much different at all. It has another that is a
storyboard that is different, but not much more different, and
it is only a cartoon storyboard. That's it. So great packaging
but lacking some substance.

Summary: Twisted serial killer flick
Review: This movie is definitely fun to watch, and is a visual experience. The director did a superb job envisioning the carnage left by a very, very disturbed man.
The movie's main characters are cops played by Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, the former being a grizzled pro on the verge or retirement, the latter being a young detective recently transferred to homicide. Both roles are played well. But the fun of the movie lies in the gory scenes, which are well-designed and original, and following the cops from one scene to the next, just a little too late, a tad too slow to stop the criminal.
The movie is punctuated by a short, but sweet, performance by Kevin Spacey and an ending with definite punch.
All in all a fun movie. A star was deducted because this is no "Silence of the Lambs", though still a very good movie.
