Review: This movie is increadible! At first I only saw it because Leo was in it but what happenend was he opened the door to Rambauds work. I've read eveything on him(and evrything was as good or better than the movie)! If you liked this than I recemend you see the movie and read the book the basketball diaries. DiCaprio and Thlewis were great in Total Eclipse and I also applaud Angieska Holland(the director) who had the guts to make a movie that he knew wouldn't make alot of money! That shows how dedicated he is to making a good movie and not good money! Thanks to all who helped with this movie because they didn't just make a good movie they opened my eyes to the world!

Review: This movie portrays the beautiful relationship between two gay men as they struggle to come to terms with their environment, the sickeningly conformist France. I loved the long talks that Rimbaud and Verlaine had. It almost felt as if I was inside the movie, listening to them. It was a touching story, and Leo has proved once and for all that he can take on almost any role and add his own touch.

Review: Leonardo was excellent. The story brings to mind the fact that gay people aren't accepted in our society though there is absolutly no reason for it. An excellent book. If you haven't read it please I encourage you to read it. I know you'll like it.

Review: The story was most excellent. I think Leo did an excellent job in the movie. Being a woman, I was naturally attracted to the movie because he was in it. I have always been an avid supporter of gay rights and frankly I was mad because Leo's on screen lover was put in prison simply because he chose to love someone of the same gender. Who are heterosexuals to dominate whom a person loves? This was indeed a love story. I recommend the book and the movie for all .

Summary: Leo is the baited hook that's reeled me in to study Rimbaud
Review: I found this book & the movie to be totally captivating. I was so influenced by them that I am now reading everything I can find by or about Rimbaud, complete with a French to English dictionary for assistance with some of the info that is not translated. I think Mr. DiCaprio should be saluted for breathing life and vitality into the character of Rimbaud, he shows great courage and dedication to his art/craft to play such a complex and controversial personality and to do so in such a subtle but provoking manner. I am grateful to Leonardo for the introduction to Rimbaud, he has given a face and mannerisms to visualize when reading the biographies about and poetry by the remarkable young poet that I would never have known had it not been for the movie "Total Eclipse". And as for Leo, in recent interviews he has given, it is wonderful to get the impression that he understands and respects his talent and has no intention of compromising it. I hope he will continue chosing these characters that challenge him and enlighten those of us who view them. He is defintely one of finest actors today. I'm definitely a great fan of his, and have enjoyed watching him grow up and into his own. My children are around the same age as he is, so I'm a little different from the majority of his fans, but I am a genuine admirer of his work, and his portrayal Rimbaud was truely inspiring. Well done!

Review: Leonardo has such great depth in this complex poet. I have seen the movie 5 times and had to either buy it or go broke renting it. IT'S A MUST SEE!!

Review: Incredible touching love story between two intellectuals in Nineteenth century France. It was a heart-wrenching and beautiful tale of two soul-mates who are clawing to get away and back together with eachother. "I found eternity, it is the sun mingled with the ocean.."
