Summary: Goodbye Cherry Pie
Review: Remember Laura Palmer? She's the one who was into sex, drugs and..., ended up killed by..., wrapped in plastic, and then it all began. Well here is the oft-times lurid, unsettling and sometimes plain scary film about Laura. This is not the eccentric drama/comedy we know as "Twin Peaks:TV series, and it's not for the fair weather Peaks fans. David Lynch lets us know that this is the flip side right at the opening credits when the violent destruction of a television is followed by a bloodcurdling scream. No wonder they hated it! I love it, and thanks to NewLine who in conjunction with none other than the maestro himself have produced a gorgeous digital transfer of this essential work. Forget the deleted scenes fiasco..with this quality sound and picture, and a good price, this is a no brainer for true Twin Peaks fans. I docked a star because the only substantial extra, the "documentary" is quite a disappointment. If you have absorbed the series and permit the Lynchian universe to enfold you, "Fire Walk with Me" will reveal itself as a coherent,disturbing and beautiful adventure. Great performances by Sheryl Lee and Ray Wise, but the real star is the director who gave us something that we never expected, and it gets better at each viewing.Wow Bob Wow!!

Summary: WHO's the CRETIN who made the documentary on this DVD ?
Review: Nothing to say about The Lynch film itself or the transfer, They're perfect. But man DO NOT BUY THIS DVD. They were supposed to release it with over an hour of deleted scenes especially selected by Lynch himself and instead they put on a "documentary" made by WHO ? The boss of New Line's nephew ???
I mean this thing is the stupidest attempt at a documentary I have ever seen in my life. (No wonder the director's name is omited). Instead of the deleted scenes they put the worstly edited interviews I have ever seen, and guess what the all actors are saying : Gee ! I was in a super nice scene that was cut from the final edit! ARRRRGH ! New Line get a grip and Issue a new version NOW !And to the Anonymous director of this farce. Cut the stupid fast forward on the interviews and GO BACK WORKING AT THE TACO BELL !

Summary: Great Movie, Great Transfer, HORRIBLE EXTRA.
Review: This movie is great. I like it more every time I see it. The trick to it is viewing it as an entity that is different from the television series. I've come to like the movie more than the series. . . The real shame of this DVD is that the documentary ... [is no good]. Completely. The producers of the documentary had hours of interview footage of the cast and some of the crew of Twin Peaks, and reduced those interviews into a half hour of blabbering mess where nothing coherent is said. An opportunity that was wasted. Buy the disc for the movie, not the extras.

YET THEY STILL CHOSE TO SCREW US OVER AND RELEASE THIS BUDGET-PRICED DINK! (yes, DINK!) DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Review: Just Picked Up The DVD Edition Of David Lynch's Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, And Just Had To Share My Thoughts With You All. The Print Used For This Release Is So Crisp And Painfully Beautiful It's Like Watching A Dali Painting In Full Motion! The Soundtrack Was Re-Mixed By Mr. Lynch Himself And So Many Nuisances Pop And Bubble To The Surface That This Is One DVD That Sure To Find A Place In Your Collection Soon.... Before That Gum Comes Back In Style... I Hope! P.S. David Bowie's Entranced As Phillip Jeffries Is Just As Manic As I Remember, Like A Evangelist On A Hot Tin Roof!

Summary: New Line nearly got it right
Review: Firstly the film is brilliant. This is Lynch's most underrated masterpiece and a piece of cinema which will forever live in the cult world along side Eraserhead. That said, Newline's dvd transfer is fantastic, the picture and audio are mindblowing (and approved by David Lynch himself!). The extra's, well there aren't any, but keep in mind that David Lynch doesn't ever want to do commentary, although the extra scenes would have been worth the while for newline. All that said, if you've enjoyed even a moment of Lynch's work, this is worth the money.

Summary: Viscously dark and totally engrossing...
Review: ...Every time that I've watched this film, I enjoy it more. This is the most hauntingly beautiful movie ever made, IMHO. It's interesting to see all the low ratings here written by DVDphiles that seem to care more about the properties of the DVD itself than the actual *film*. I guess I can understand that line of thinking, but if you've never seen this, don't be put off by these ~ this DVD is a necessary installment to anyone's collection! Nobody can do what David Lynch does... On a side note; the movie made 100% more sense to me after heeding a friend's advice and buying a copy of Laura Palmer's diary. GREAT book. Very adult in nature, but fascinating to read. I've recently purchased season one, and am half way through it. Great stuff. But if you're here, you probably already know it. While I'm sad that I didn't get to be a part of the furor that surrounded this show back in the 90's, I'm excited to get to see all of it for the first time!

Summary: NEW LINE CINEMA DOESNT CARE ABOUT IT'S FANS!!!!
Review: We all know Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me was an excellent movie. I own the VHS and I treasure it. But did you know the theatrical release has over an hours worth of scenes deleted from it. New Line Cinema didn't think people would want to sit through a three hour movie so they cut them out. David Lynch and many other people tried to get those scenes put into the dvd, but NLC (New Line Cinema) didn't put them in. Instead they put some...documentry into the DVD...I am urging all you Twin Peaks not to buy this DVD...Tell them the Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me DVD will not be purchased or rented by you until it released the way it should be, with the deleted scenes. We who have dedicated ourselves to this wonderful Television Series and Film have a right to see it with the deleted scenes. Are we going to let NLC take away our rights as dedicated Twin Peaks Fans. Laura Palmer and the rest of the towns citizens deserve to be remebered with the deleted scenes. Help catalog an important piece of Twin Peaks history for future generations...

Summary: For Lynch fans, not Twin Peaks fans
Review: I loved Twin Peaks (the series) more than most people, and was hugely disappointed in this film. Only the first 30 minutes of this film---which is about completely different characters---has any of the wonderful quirkiness of the TV series. Then, when it finally turns to the story of Laura Palmer, it entirely loses its playfulness and becomes single-mindedly dark. It gives us *nothing* of the many fascinating side-plots of the television series. And of course, there is very little Agent Cooper, a huge disappointment; he makes a bizarre cameo at the very end. To understand the very end of this film (to the very limited extent that that's possible), you have to remember what happened to Coop at the end of the second season of TP. David Bowie makes a brief appearance during the first 30 minutes of the film. And I mean "brief." It's very hard to understand anything about his character, or what Lynch had in mind when he wrote the character into the story. Before seeing the film, I'd read a review that said Bowie plays a time-traveling FBI agent. Okay, whatever. On the plus side, the story of Laura Palmer's demise is very interesting even though you already know how it turns out and who the perpetrator is. Sheryl Lee and Ray Wise give absolutely amazing performances. And thank goodness, because, after the first 30 minutes, they are the only actors that get any significant screen time. Everyone else from the tv show just has tiny cameos. This is very frustrating, because TP the series had many other wonderful characters, and I wanted to see more of them. In summary, Fire Walk With Me is great for fans of Lynch's weird, incoherent, unsatisfying stuff like The Lost Highway. I do not deny that those films, in their own way, are of high quality. Nor do I deny that Fire is, on some level, also very good. But if you loved the TP series, are hungry to learn more about the lives of characters other than Laura Palmer or her father, and aren't crazy about Lynch's less coherent films, then you will probably be very disappointed by Fire Walk with Me.
