Summary: FANTASTIC!
Review: This was an incredably beutiful movie. The cinematogrophy was incredable. The story was wonderful. Idira Varma is a GODDESS.

Summary: Historical settings, myths, and beauty
Review: I think this movie should be watched not because the words "Kama Sutra" in its title, but because it portrays a certain mentality from a different part of the world. The movie does talk about sexuality, yes; but it also portrays a certain psyche that was prevelant in many eastern (and perhaps western) countries until very recently. Of course if your only desire is to see beautiful Indian people naked, this movie will fulfill that desire as well.

Summary: Indira Varma the most beautiful woman in the world?
Review: The only reason for getting this film is to see the actress Indira Varma. In my opinion one of the most beautiful women in the world. She is the star of the film and she makes it special. She should be in more films!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Sexy, Intriguing and highly Relatable
Review: This is a must have for any serious video library. The actors are beautiful and compliment each other very well both physically and professionally. This is a tastefully executed erotic drama about sex, love, betrayal and friendship.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A tale of love woven with true eroticism
Review: I found this movie to be highly erotic, but not cheaply so. It ventures into sex without falling into the trap of pornography, while still remaining entertaining and arousing; it deals with the classical elements of love: romance, intrigue, friendship and betrayal, loss and fulfillment. It is an affirmation of the sexual psyche and a sensual feast! Mira Nair is to be applauded! I also highly enjoyed her other feature film, "Mississippi Masala", and I recommend it as well.

Summary: Visually stunning, beautifully heartfelt movie
Review: This movie was just stunning. The cast, especially Indira Varma and Ramon Tikaram, are just gorgeous! But they also play their characters well. Mira Nair has a flair for breathtaking cinematography and creating lasting images in our minds. This movie just took my breath away. The love scenes were tastefully done, they were not vulgar or contrived. There was a spirituality in them that was quite fascinating! Well done, Mira. People, enjoy!

Summary: A masterpiece that captures the spirit of India and love.
Review: This film captures the beauty of India and of the dynamics of its culture. The scenery was like being back in India where I was raised for four and a half years. The artistic production captured the beauty I found in the land, the people, the music, and the culture. The directors commentary is very nicely done to help understand the art and spirtuality of the Kama Sutra. I would like to see more films done this way. The mix of my favourite Tabla sound with the western style to match the performance is masterful. As a whole I rank Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love a masterpiece. The plot that expresses the spirit and the heart of love also demonstrates the cultural experience of Karma. For those that have experienced the dark side of Kali, this may be a healing view of the whole picture of life's journey and the importance of continuing that journey for the light, constructive side of Kali.

Thank you, Mira Nair and your team for this beautiful expression of your culture : - )

Summary: major disappointment
Review: If the women were not so unbelievably gorgeous, this movie would be completely unbearable. It was like a cheap daytime soap set in ancient India complete with wooden actors delivering stilted, awkward lines and a predictable, entirely forgettable plot. But did I mention the chicks are really hot?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Outstanding cinematography, beautiful costumes and actors
Review: The film gave a vividly bright and colorful portrayal of 16th century India. The beautiful actresses and sets were very appealing, while the story could have been broadened. Casting could have been better. Sarita Chowdhury and Indira Varma are two very beautiful women. I sure dis appreciate this vision into Indian culture and life.
