Summary: A classic, for sure...
Review: In a word, this movie was WONDERFUL. Hugh Grant gives an incredible performance, as does Julia Roberts. It's funny, sweet, quirky and romantic all rolled into one magnificent movie. If you like real ROMANTIC comedies, you'll love this. And guys, I saw this movie with a good male friend, and I'm sure he liked it just as much as I did. I hope this movie becomes a classic for future generations to experience.

Summary: BEST MOVIE OF 1999
Review: Notting Hill, is a great movie, filled with laughter and a need of tissue. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Julia Roberts, this movie really shows how the stars in Hollywood feel about the media.

Summary: Somewhat romantic but very unhumurous.
Review: Julia Roberts character to me was so unsympathetic that I didn't feel that she deserved to be with such a nice guy as Hugh's character is in this film and I was personally hoping that Hugh would stick to his guns and not go crawling back to her because the way she treated him was not very nice.

My girlfriend thought that Hugh's flatmate was funny. I found him to be ignorant and boorish in the extreme.

If you want to see a romance check out 'Somewhere in Time' with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves. Or for romantic comedy I recommend 'Doc Hollywood' starring Michael J Fox and Julie Warner.

Summary: A Sensational Film
Review: THis film, Notting Hill, is definitely worth a watch! I have watched it three times on the big screen and I must say the more I watched the more I loved it! It is funny, romantic and dramatic, I believe that's as good as it gets! And with its gorgeous actors Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts this a terrific must!

Summary: Richard Curtis Does It Again
Review: The writer of "Four Weddings and a Funeral," Richard Curtis, succeeds again in creating something incredibly funny yet poignantly romantic once again with "Notting Hill." Of course having Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant helps, too. These two actors were the writer's/directer's/producer's first choices and they fit their roles perfectly. Julia Roberts plays the gorgeous film star and Hugh Grant plays the slightly diffident, but nonetheless charming, British chap who falls in love with her. It's ending is somewhat Jane Austen-like but not overly sweet. This film also has a great supporting cast made but of British sitcom actors and one stand-up comedian. Altogether, it is a great romantic comedy!

Summary: A comfort film that makes you go Ahhh at the end
Review: Really funny. I didn't think it would be so funny. Hugh Grant is such a giggle. Check out the part when he is interviewing Julia Roberts' character for Horse and Hound and you'll end up holding your ribs with laughter.

Hugh's room mate is quite a character as well. A bit like an adorable street cat that you want to feed but not let in the house.

A real comfort film. One that makes you go Ahhh at the end.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Poor Acting, Poor sound
Review: I was actually upset with the sound quality, and the music soundtrack on this DVD. The soundtrack just didn't come through very well for some reason, and the movie itself is poor. The acting is sub-par and the directing is sub-par. I just think everyone is getting used to such bad movies that stuff like this gets a great review. Oh well.

Summary: Booooooring
Review: I see this movie recieved many good reviews, but I didn't like it. I understand it was supposed to be just a sugary sweet romance, but the dialogue, characters and plot just seemed too unreal. Grants roommate Spike didn't make make me laugh because everything he did was shoved down my throat as what is supposed to be funny. Here, look at me, I'm a total ass, aren't I funny? No, you're not. Hugh's friends and family's reaction to initially meeting Julia, the megastar, at Grants sisters birthday party was very unrealistic. Their reactions ringed hollow, as did just about every other scene in the movie. (Grants attempt to climb over the fence to the park, just climb over the fence you wimp stop trying to be clumsy.) Then, somehow I was supposed to feel sorry for the tortured life of Anna Scott, it was hinted that she had an eating disorder, please. Spare me. Go complain somwhere else with your 15 million a film salary. Of course Anna Scotts real boyfriend (Alec Baldwin) made a cameo just to show what a shallow jackass he was, what a shocker. His negative presence was simply a plot device to make Mr. Ordinary Hugh Grant look even more charming. Look, I know how to turn off my brain and enjoy a movie for simple entertainment value, but I don't know how to completely remove my brain and fall for sugary, boring, fake nonsense like this.

Summary: Ho Hum
Review: Another movie that proves what a horrible actress Julia Roberts is (and to think here she even plays a version of herself--what a role stretch!).

The lines are good, especially the scenes between Hugh Grant and his neighbor, but then they had to bring in Roberts to spoil it. (and Pretty Woman, indeed---pul-lease, spare us!)

Summary: Top of the Hill
Review: I have seen this film for about 10 times since it apear in cinema. I recomend everyone to see it because not only the place where it is set up is beautifull, but also que plot is interesting and exciting. You never know how it will end till it finally does. Trust me, I can assure you that you will not feel betrayed.
