Description:

Memorex's unique, vertically oriented MVD2030 DVD player is configured for both desktop placement and home theater enjoyment. The unit offers high-end component-video outputs, progressive scanning (for use with high-definition or HD-ready TVs), built-in MP3 decoding, and Kodak Picture CD playback. MP3 compatibility includes folder and subfolder navigation, though be aware that it will only read the MP3 portions of mixed-format MP3 CDs.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the MVD2030 stands ready to deliver the full potential of DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize line scan and digital artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.

A single set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Even without a surround receiver or six-channel speaker setup, every movie night can be the ultimate experience: Virtual Surround simulates surround sound through two speakers (even the stereo speakers on a TV). It also includes a "reverb" setting through which you can tailor the level of additional audio ambience. Playback options include parental locks (password protect), repeat (chapter, disc, A-B), random play, 20-track CD programming, and picture zoom (2x, 3x, 4x). The unit comes with a composite-video/stereo analog-audio interconnect, instruction manual, and a remote control
