Summary: 'A Bug's Life' problem with RCA and ProScan model DVD-Player
Review: There is a widespread problem with RCA dvd machines being able to play, 'A Bug's Life'. This movie is one of the best ever made for the format, and the first all digital transfer of a film. I suggest if you have an RCA brand (or Proscan) dvd-player that you get this disk and see if it works. Usually, the player wil throw back an error message after five minutes, saying "Incompatible Disk". If you do put it in enough times, you may be able to get it to play on the forth or fifth try. However, if you are not happy with this performance, you may take your player back, because this is a manufacturer's defect and is subject to a full refund no matter how long you've had your dvd-player. I think the problem may be as rampant as 1 in every 2 players. Be sure to check your system out.

Summary: Simply a wonderful unit and a great buy!
Review: This is my first DVD after thinking about it for two months. I've only purchased it since DVD's are entering the Rental market. With 500 lines of resolution (Using the S-video connector cable), this system has the same picture quality of any current DVD player (dont be fooled!), The sound can still be decoded for dolby surround. Great Buy!

Review: i am suprised at rca this time. in the past, they made some very "clunky" looking products... out of all the dvd players i looked at before purchasing, this one was the most elegant and streamlined. setup is a breeze and the menu & remote are very straight-forward. good value and simplicity

Review: This is a great machine regardless of price, and given its cost, it an amazing deal. Not only does it play some titles my last player wouldn't, but I swear they actually LOOK better on this player. It also has a smooth fast-foreward speed that my last player didn't have, and the on-screen menu setup is the best I've seen.

Review: I was amazed at the clarity of the picture and the sound. Great prdouct, great price. I don't know if is just me being picky, but i found i could here the disc spinning if i had the volume to low. But over all, great player.

Review: Of all the entry level machines, I liked this one the best. Although I don't have a Home theater type system, I like the fact that this unit has Digital Dolby/DTS compatibilty so, I can hook it to one in the future. One problem I had when too many remote buttons were pushed, was the system locking up, and scrambled sound coming out. When this happens you have to pull the plug on it to fix it. If you can find it on sale like I did, it's an even better value.

Review: I just bought this model last week. It's my first DVD player and it meets all of my expectations. I am not well versed in describing the technical performance of video/audio equipment, but I can say that it looks and sounds great. This model granted me access to DVD movies at a price I could afford.

Review: This is a great player. I have a dolby digital surround sound system comprised of mainly Sony and Klipsch, so I'm used to high end equiptment. I didn't know what to expect from this player, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

Review: This attempt at low cost digital video is just the type of propaganda that you would expect from a company trying to meet standards set by the front runners in the field of digital video. In the future, you should try to surpass your competition. Although I am an avid RCA consumer, I am at this time reluctant to purchase this product, for the simple fact that i am accustomed to top of the line performance from your company.

Summary: This is a wonderful bargain
Review: If you don't have a top of the line TV with componenet video, but have an older model, this is all the player you will need. It has wonderful features. I can not detect any decompression artifacts and as far as I know there are no known bugs or specific DVDs that this player has problems playing.
