Summary: My first DVD player
Review: I love this DVD player. Easy to set up. Remote is easy to operate and it plays my mp3's.
I worried about how I was going to hook it up to my 15 year old TV, but it plugged right into the VCR (which is hooked up to the amplifier/receiver) so we have good sound. This DVD is exactly what I wanted. I just love it.

Summary: Great player!
Review: I checked out scores of other players and signs kept pointing back to the Toshibas... The SD2700 was high rated, but the SD2710 is slightly newer and also can play MP3's which the 2700 cannot. It's hard to find a better value for an excellent player with compatibility with tons of formats, great output options and easy to use. The price is excellent and Toshiba has a history of strong products. The only downside is the remote has tons of little buttons that you have to look at, you can't just go by feel. Otherwise, buy a 2710 today!

Summary: Quality product
Review: This is the second dvd player that i have purchased, the first being a sony that did not play cdr's, but did play cdrw's. This toshiba plays both, has DTS out and component outs. From reading many reviews sony's or toshiba's are the way to go, and i have not yet had a problem reading a dvd disc in either. I recommend this player because of its price, its ability to read burnt discs, and is reputation. I havent tried the mp3 capabilities yet because i am waiting for a receiver and speakers.

Summary: DVD
Review: I had never purchased a Toshiba product before and I would now certainly buy one again. My only complaint is that I bought this one from a store and paid $60 more than the price here on Amazon!. The player was difficult to learn how to use at first as the instruction manual was not very clear but once mastered it was plain sailing. My only complaint would be that the region no. is hard to change. A quality product that is easy on the pocket!

Summary: Audio via external audio amplifier
Review: Yup, had the same audio faintness problem, just after the warranty ended. I ended up hooking it to an external audio amplifier and running it that way fine.

Summary: No more sound
Review: I've had this player for about 2.5 years and have had only minor problems. Then, yesterday, the sound disappeared. I tried re-connecting all of the cables to no avail. I looked at the reviews today and realize I am not the only one to have this problem.

Summary: Audio went out
Review: I seem to be luckier then other people. My audio stopped working after I had the unit for 2 years and 4 months. At the time I purchased it, there were no reviews about this problem, otherwise I would have not purchased it. The audio problem seems to be a chronic problem.
