Summary: Great value, easy to use-great DVD Player
Review: After a lot of research into DVD players, this player was by far the best value for the money and had a great rep.!
Very easy to use and pretty easy to set up (once you get a RF modulator).
Has some excellent features, especially it's ability to make widescreen movies (you know the ones with the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen)"normal" looking.

Haven't used it with cd's yet, but I'm sure I'll get EXCELLENT quality.

Summary: Problems but resolved
Review: I compliment Amazon on the way my problem with the unit was resolved. Upon receipt of the unit, it played very well, but after about 27 hours the unit stopped playing; no power, the fuze had blown, upon the replacement of fuze still no joy. I have sent the defective unit back to Amazon, the return was expedited by the Amazon Internet return link I think enough of this unit that I have ordered another from Amazon. My experience with the unit prior to the outage was excellent.

Summary: Excellent!!
Review: Fantastic quality and plenty of buttons to play with. It is also nice and shallow so it's fits quite nicely in small places. It is very quiet and thoughfully designed.

The remote is not designed very well but then again, which one is?

Summary: Out of this world..
Review: I bought this DVD Player for X-mas for my dad and we are quite impressed. He has only two speakers on his decent but old (1992) Pioneer system and the N-2-2 Spatializer worked wonders! The sound was crisp, clear and came from everywhere. Picture quality was extremely clear. I haven't messed around with the picture options as of yet. I think we will be fighting for use of this machine!

Summary: OH baby baby
Review: This is a great DVD player. It has everything you want (even comes with DTS and MP3) at a price you can't beat. I'm sooo glad I bought this player. It's easy to set up and easy to use. A great first DVD player for anyone who is thinking of getting a DVD player. I wouldn't use it on my HDTV, home theater, but if you just want something simple that looks great, this is the one. Haven't had any problems with it, what can I say I love it. It was cool.

Summary: Fantastic product and great price
Review: DVD, CD, VCD, MP3, component out and easy menus. What more could you ask for a sub-$200 player?! We love ours - even my 5 y/o can work it.

Summary: DVD not everything else
Review: This DVD has digital audio out as well as component or SVideo out. It is a class machine for playing DVDs. It was created before the big jump in CDRs and MP3 files. It was not meant to play back that material. It was meant to give the finest possible playback on DVDs. The Matrix is a fine test DVD. If a player handles that fine, then it should handle anything. This player was wonderful on the Matrix. In fact, after viewing some 300 DVDs I can say I've never NEVER had a problem with it. The best value for your dollar.

Summary: Good DVD player, horrible CDR / MP3 player
Review: Plays DVDs fine, but has a lot of trouble playing MP3 CDRs (lots of popping and crackling) and even has trouble playing music CDRs that I've burned, which played fine in my old CD player. Also, the display doesn't show the CD track number unless you turn on the TV and look at it on-screen. Utterly useless for any CD I've burned on my computer.

Summary: Good, but serious problems
Review: I didn't have any issue with the DVD functionality, and I didn't test the MP3 options. But there were serious problems with it's CD-R compatibility. I had CD-R VCD's that would play fine for an hour or so, then the player would, for lack of a better word, get tired. It would start skipping or wouldn't be able to even get to a specific chapter. It would spin for a couple minutes not doing anything and then give up. If I turned it off for 30-40 minutes and then tried again it would play fine for another hour. Very frustrating when you are trying to watch a series. If you watch VCD's or CD-R's with MPG compression then I would recommend against buying this player, get a Sony, much better quality.

Summary: Fantastic Player
Review: Toshiba may not be the absolute best on the market but for the value and features it is a great DVD player. I personally do not like Widescreen movies as I feel I am not utilizing the actualy dimensions of my Television. Toshiba helps eliminate this by offering a 3X zoom button to help fill out your TV. I highly recommend this or any Toshiba player.
