Summary: Nice DVD player with low price
Review: I received this DVD play yesterday, it plays DVD, VDC, JPEG picture and MP3 very well. The video and sound are pretty good. But I feel vibration a little bit touching it while it is playing disc. I don't konw whether it's a normal phenomenon on this player or there is something wrong only with the one I received. Anyway, this is an excellent DVD player with it's low price.

Summary: great deal for the price
Review: A year ago I purchesed a toshiba DVD... I can not tell the difference with the picture between it and the Norcent. It has fewer options but for a second TV you can't go wrong. It is easy to install and operate. I will probally buy another one as a spare in case the expensive one goes down

Summary: You can't use it in other countries
Review: The item description states that the Norcent DP300 has "Manual voltage select (AC 100 to 240 volts, 50 or 60 Hz) lets you use the player in several countries" and states that is ideal for taking with you on vacation to Europe.

This is not true. The unit does not have a manual voltage select
so you can only use it in the US.

Summary: The item description is wrong regarding voltage select
Review: The item description states that the Norcent DP300 has "Manual voltage select (AC 100 to 240 volts, 50 or 60 Hz) lets you use the player in several countries" and states that is ideal for taking with you on vacation to Europe.

This is not true.

The unit does not have a manual voltage select.
On the back it says 110/60 hz. I bought it for use in Denmark so I had to buy a step down transformer (USD 10). It works fine with the step down transformer. I made it region free which was easy. The DVD works fine. The unit lacks a display with time and track etc. It would have been nice to see play/remaining time in a display on the unit. Overall a good unit at a very good price.

Summary: Best DVD value
Review: It just amazes me how DVD players are now inexpensive commodities, just four years after I bought my first DVD player, a Panasonic that cost me a small fortune (the price of being the first on the block to have a DVD player).

I was at least a bit skeptical about this Chinese DVD player, but since it's so cheap and the reviews here seem generally positive, I gave it a try. Boy is it a very capable DVD player. The exterior is a stylish silver and the player mechanism handles all my DVDs and DVD-Rs and CDs and CD-R/RWs with utmost grace. Setting up was a breeze, as was expected of a DVD player these days, although the instructions can make you laugh.

At this time the unknown factor is the machine's long-term reliability. But so far it looks durable and works fine, and frankly for such a low price (even without the Amazon.com exclusive rebate), it's already a winner.

Summary: Good value for the price...
Review: Amazon offered a great value with this no-frills DVD player. It's excellent...plays DVDs, CDs and MP3s as well. Perfect for a DVD purchase for a student or first time DVD consumer.

Summary: A great little player
Review: I purchased this player a while ago because in this day and age you need a DVD player, and being a college kid I didn't have much to spend on one. But I have been extremely happy with my purchase! DVDs play beautifully, I've had no problems with skipping or sound quality issues whatsoever. You have enough ability to change settings that you can optimize playback to fit your sound system and TV. It comes with a remote control that has every option you could want on it (play, rewind, fast forward, settings, etc) and the player itself is surprisingly light and compact, so it's easy to stick just about anywhere!

I'm very happy with this player - the only thing downside to a lower end player is that it doesn't have the information/clock component on the front, so you can see how much of the DVD has played, etc. But this truly is an extra you can live without if your main focus is to find an afforable, durable, and good player!

Summary: Region free out of the box!
Review: I bought this DVD player because of the reviews that said it was capable of playing DVDs from various regions, and indeed it is. I have played both region 1 and region 2 DVDs, without even having to change region settings, right out of the box. It can also switch the video output between NTSC and PAL TV systems and the power can be switched between 110 and 220 volts.

Summary: Simple, yet good player
Review: This unit really plays everything, except DVD+R/RW...
