Rating: Summary: Waste of time and money! Review: I purchased my Norcent 300 DVD Player last year and used it a couple of times. It worked great and the picture was good. I did not use it for a couple of months and when I try to play a DVD again, it would not play. I contacted Norcent in California and returned the player for a replacement. A month later, I got the replacement. It does not work at all. I questioned if the replacement DVD was new, they could have just sent me back my orginial DVD player. Again, I contacted customer service but have received no response. Too bad, I thought this product had real potential. Don't waste your time or money unless you are in need of a frustrating experience.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth of our time. Review: I bought this player for 50$ + shipping. I expected 10$ mail-in-rebate. I did n't get the rebate.
I think the player worked well for about 3 or 4 months, As I used very rarely.
Then When I started using it really, The small door for the slot, where we insert and remove DVD's got jammed. It is very delicate.
I opened and fixed the spring inside. But It got jammed again after 1 month.
Now when I tried to open the door to insert to DVD, It will open and close immediatly. It will not stop in open condition.
It is not worth of our time to buy cheap Player like this.
Better to buy a good brand name player for almost same or little bit more price.
Thanks,
Rating: Summary: Good player, has limitations. Review: I've had this DVD player for a while, and its pretty good. I have some warnings though. First, never lose the remote. Without it, you won't be able to navigate DVD menus except for what is already selected. You also cannot fast-forward or rewind the DVD without remote, beyond the next and previous scene buttons. Theres also some cooling problems, dont keep the DVD player in any cramped cabinets, or leave it on for too long or else the player will start to skip. There's no cooling vents or fans that i can see, though that might be standard practice for DVD players. I also haven't been able to find any universal remotes that work with the brand, so i'm pretty much screwed for watching any DVDs with multiple episodes on this player, though some DVDs automatically move on to the next feature after you've watched the first one, like band of brothers, though that's pretty rare. WITH the remote this is a very good dvd player that plays burned DVDs, VCDs, and MP3 CDs in addition to the normal DVD/CD functions.
Rating: Summary: So good, I bought 2! Plays PAL DVD's too Review: I have to have a decent DVD player that can watch PAL DVD's on my regular NTSC TV and vice versa. The PAL and NTSC DVD's have to be region free (we watch our home movies) to watch in the other formats. I sent 3 of these to relatives in Australia, use 1, and bought another for my friend. Amazon is the only place that I can find these. Auto voltage sensing for foreign countries. Great value.
Rating: Summary: Piece of You-Know-What Review: I only got this DVD player on Xmas, and already it does the following: doesn't load the disk, loads the disk and plays w/o sound, flashes different colors when turned on, and motor hums, but nothing happens.
After reading how bad the company's CS is, I don't even think I'm going to bother to have it fixed. I would rather shell out more cash and buy a DVD by a REAL company, not this Cracker-Jack outfit called Norcent.
I am stunned, additionally, to see that this product can be purchased for $200. You would have to be a damned fool to spend that kind of money on such a poor product.
