Rating: Summary: Not DVD, but DUD! Review: My husband bought the S360 because it was supposed to be a great DVD player. We had the player for just over one year when it stopped playing the majority of our DVD's. The player tells us that we need to Insert Disc, even though the disc has been inserted. We have cleaned the player, cleaned the discs, read all of the troubleshooting literature and followed each guideline. Still this player will only play one of our many DVD's. Our redemption at this point is that we bought an extended warranty and can get it repaired. I've always loved Sony products, but I am very disappointed with this one.
Rating: Summary: Goodbye DVD-S360..R.I.P. Hello DVP-NS400D Review: After 1 year and 2 months of serious playtime for DVD's and CD's my player died in the middle of a movie and subsequently will no longer play any more or recognize any disc inside it. just the pathetic noise it makes as it tries to start the discs to no avail. I know what this means. SONY has (...) me again. Thats 2 SONY CD players to have the pickup laser die on me. But you know what, the picture and enjoyment was so great in the time that I owned it, I'm upgrading to the new SONY DVP-NS400D and praying that it lasts longer this time.4 stars becaue the damn thing died in a little more than year after what I would estimate as 300 hours of usage.
Rating: Summary: My First DVD Player Review: So cool! Soooo much better than vhs (you already know that). Lots of funtions with a good programmable remote. I love this thing, the frame by frame is dope, two fast foreword/back speeds. All kinds of setup manipulation etc. Blows doors on the DVD plaver on my PC as far as funtionality. I watch it through the Sony 27" KV-2727S46, BAMM!!!
Rating: Summary: excellent player Review: would have given 5 stars except that the player makes a lot of noise while the disc is spinning. Other than that, this in an excellent machine
Rating: Summary: Sony Reliable DVD Player Review: When I purchased my DVD player almost a year ago, I had many choices to choose from. From Phillips to JVC, I had the pick of the litter. However, I wanted an economic, yet reliable player that would provide me countless hours of entertainment. I found all of this in the Sony S330 DVD Player. The unit, which is easy to install is one of Son'y best models. It's design and functions overwhemingly convinced me that this was the DVD player for me. I had no problems with any reported sound difficulties, and the the Remote Control is similar to most modern Sony remote control units in that it a control pad at the bottom that allows for greater accesbility to your DVD's features. Sony has provided households with reliable entertainment units for many decades. As one of the first in their line of DVD players, the S330 is an excellent choice if you wish to own a player that won't break the bank. Sony has done it again! Great brand name reputation never fails when it comes to the minds at Sony's technological labs!
Rating: Summary: If you're looking for your first DVD player... Review: I had shopped around for a DVD player for quite awhile and had recomendations for the Sony and Toshiba models. I was just looking for a VCR replacement so I didn't need any specical features, at least not yet. Since I already used other Sony products (stereos and TVs), I chose the Sony S330 and I haven't been disappointed yet. It was easy to install. I pulled it right out of the box with the patch RCA cables and S-Video cable and was able to watch a movie in a couple of minutes. I can always set that up with my stereo later when I had the time. If you're looking for a DVD player to get you started, I'd definitely recommend the S330. I haven't rented a video tape since.
Rating: Summary: Save your money for the Sony DVP-S360 now available! Review: The Sony DVP-S360 is the replacement model for the Sony DVP-S330 (which has been discontinued), Amazon hopefully will get this player in soon and the universal price everywhere for the Sony DVP-S360 is $249. Also all the problems reported with the 330 has been 'fixed' by Sony (as they claim) with the new 360. Also even better than the dvp-s330 is that the dvp-s360 comes with component video outputs and a custom parental control for up to 50 DVDs, so you can program what DVDs your kids watch. Also its thinner and a different more refreshing look than the DVP-s330.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous DVD Player Review: I love this DVD player. The on-screen menus are beautiful. It has S-Video jacks (2). The remote is very clear and excellent for navigating DVD menu screens. It moves among menu screens much quicker than my dad's, early-adopted Toshiba. Optical audio is fabulous. There's no component video, but I don't even have an S-Video television. No zoom-in feature either. Both don't matter at all to me though. Weighs very little. Unfortunately does not play CD-Rs. You'll love using this for years with the beautiful design of the player, the remote, and the on-screen menus. Oh, and has a great feature that auto-chooses the best audio track when you put in a disc.
Rating: Summary: Terrific Review: It's definitly worth more than its price, I bought it a couple of months ago, and its working like a dream,. it has two rca outputs which is very useful and a fiber optic output which I use to connect on to my Minidisc deck to record music digitaly. The video quality is mezmerising and the sound is just too good. The only problem I have with this machine is that it wont read recordable cds. I also have a toshiba 2107 and it also has that same problem. But over all you should buy this dvd if you're thinking about buying one. after all, you couldnt go wrong with a Sony.
