Review: I would truly recommend this player. Its oustanding because of the price and quality. You would think that if you bought anything cheap like the Oritron Dvd Player it wouldn't work. But this player is great. Better than my prevouis Oritron. Although, the player has some glitches. Thats why I gave it a four. When I play movies there is a slight freeze that lasts for about one second, and sometimes there is static involved every now and then. But you have to truly take care of it. I would buy this player if I was you.

Review: I've had my GE1106P for 9 months at which time it completely stopped working. The full warranty is only 90 days so to replace the machine (only parts are under warranty at this time) it will cost $90 which is almost 65% of a new machine. ....

Summary: Piece of junk.
Review: This DVD Player is a piece of junk. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because I can get about two hours of good viewing time PER DAY before the thing overheats and skips and freezes to the point where it spits out the disk and says that it cannot read it. This is a very poorly designed machine. There are NO airvents anywhere on the machine. No heat can escape, which leads to overheating, which causes it to skip like crazy. I used to be very fond of GE. Now I'm not so sure. Reading over the reviews has assured me that this is not an isolated incident. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

Summary: Good price, good player
Review: This Player may not be the best one around, but at ~130 USD it gives more than you pay for. It wraps up pretty much every standard feature you get on DVD players. The only glitch: video playback will freeze (seldom) the image for less than a second. I noticed the glitch after almost two hours of playback, and it's not a big deal. In fact, you'll feel like in you're at a movie theater and they switched reels, only without the warning spots... =)So, good price, good product... I'd buy it if you're a movie fan and like to spend not-too-much on hobbies...

Summary: huge dissapointment after 10 months of use
Review: Yes, it does glitch a little. Yes, the price is right. No, it won't last forever. I just got The Godfather DVD Collection, and after 1 hour play on EACH disc, the player froze. Strange, since the discs work just fine in my iBook. The problem is that now I can't watch any of my movies, it glitches more than it used to, and on most of my discs it freezes. I guess I'll have to spend a little more, but get a first quality SONY or Panasonic Player.... maybe a PIONEER.
