Summary: A very good product for the money
Review: The picture is excellent, except for an occasional slight leaking of horizontal lines, such as in scenes with a wide staircase or Venetian blinds. I love the wide screen format. One rental disk skipped and froze, but I think it was scratched. Matrix played without a hitch. The audio is excellent. The remote is amazingly small, but I quickly got used to pressing with a fingernail.

Summary: Superb player for cheap money
Review: This DVD player was rated as one of the best in its class.It's one of the cheapest on the market but you can't tell that it is cause of the superb audio and visual performances.Combine it with a Philips Widescreen and a Harman Kardon AVR 65 DD and you will get a new experience of watching movies.The only thing that is negative may be that it doesn't take CDR's but for the money that differs in price between the larger players, you can easily buy a separate CD player.So I recommend it to everyone, at least to start with.

Review: This is a high quality, no non-sence DVD player with movie theater performance. The sound is excellent, the video is sharp and the controls easy to use and understand. I looked at the other players and found this one to be the best in features for the price.

I recently purchased a high end reciever and was overjoyed with this machine's Digital performance. Get a copy of Twister to go with this player and crank your amp! You will not be dissapointed!

Summary: TVs pre1990?
Review: This is my first experience with a DVD player. The Toshiba SD2109 is good. I was surprised how lightweight the machine is. This will allow me to use the dvd player in different rooms. The rectangular metal design does make the player look 'cheap'. If I had been in a store and viewed this with other models, I probably would not have purchased. The only problem I had with the player was connecting directly to my 1987 TV. I could not get a video display. I connected the DVD player to my VCR (Sony purchased in 1996). My choice of this DVD player was based on reviews posted at this site, plus the reasonable price.

Summary: Biggest bang for your buck
Review: This is the best DVD player out there.The picture quality is excellent.I compared it to the Panasonic A-120 scene for scene and believe me the Toshiba outdid the Panasonic in every aspect; audio and picture. The only weakness the remote which has small buttons for all functions.Go out and buy this today:you will not be dissapointed.

Review: This was my frist DVD but ive known people with full AC3 or Dolby systems and that real nice sony DVD player, and then I took my Toshiba friend over to their house and needless to say they got real upset they paid more for the SAME THING! This DVD player is awesome, i have it rigged to my TV and the digital input on my computer so i get full Dolby Digital 5.1... Audio CD is great, CD-R reading dosent happen at all, And the remote isnt as bad as people make it out to be. Its a little light but you can navigate God with it... I had the same problem as others with older TV's, no signal, so i hooked it up to my new Mitsubishi. But why would you hook up a DVD player to an old TV anyway? I tottaly recommend this DVD player to anyone and everyone!
