Summary: Super Sweet! Excellent player. Ok remote.
Review: I love this dual disk player. I had originally baught myself a Toshiba SD 3108 for christmas and gave to my mom when this one came out. The remote is plain and large, but the dual tray and sound quality are excellent. I am most pleased with Toshiba's DVD players.

Summary: Very easy to use, many features, can't beat the price.
Review: I recently purchased this unit as my first DVD player, & I couldn't be more pleased. The remote is somewhat large, but laid out very well. Picture quality is excellent, as are the many audio options. The dual disc feature is a major plus. Buy from a reputable source and you will have many years of audio/video sensory pleasure.

Summary: Great DVD player!
Review: I did my homework before deciding on my first entry into the world of DVDs and this product by Toshiba rose above the crowd. Waiting for the box to arrive was like a little mini-Christmas, and once it did I couldn't wait to try it out.

I wasn't dissappointed. The DVD player produces an incredibly sharp picture and the sound is fantastic. The sound quality is excellent for audio CDs, too. On the downside, you can't shuffle songs between the two trays. Nonetheless, this Toshiba product is a great choice. I highly recommend the SD-3109. You'll know why once you try it for yourself.

Summary: Great Player, Bad Remote
Review: I have had my Toshiba 3109 for a month. I love the player however the remote is poorly laid out and it is even bigger then my universal remote, go figure it operates one unit and takes up so much space. But this factor didn't stop me from buying what I think is an outstanding machine

Summary: The ideal gift for couch potatoes and Movie buffs
Review: With it's two disc changer you only need to get up every 5 hours or so to change discs. In addition the picture quality is the best I've ever seen on a DVD player, no pixellation, and a nice crisp picture. Unlike some players, that have remotes with a million buttons, this one is easily understood and simple to use. With the built in Dolby decoder you can have surround sound without a dolby receiver. All you have to due is hook up three amplifiers to the player and make your own. Just go up to the attic get that old stereo(you know the one with the 8track player, we all have one) and hook them up to the back. The instruction manual even tells you how to configure your speakers. This DVD player is great, it's the best birthday present I've ever gotten.

Summary: Excellent product
Review: Maximum features with only a couple of caveats. Especially useful is the ability to load one DVD while another is playing. A short-coming is the lack of a "jog" feature. All features are outstanding with only the remote control lacking.

Summary: Good picture
Review: Good picture. Remote very poorly laid out. NOT multibrand, only controls the DVD player.

Summary: Nearly Great
Review: I've had my 3109 for about 2 months. Picture and sound quality are excellent. CD playback is very good, although I think a brand-new first tier cd player might be slightly superior.

Although Toshiba claims you can play CD-R disks on this unit, you better test your disks on it before you give up your old CD player. My disks (recorded with a Phillips OmniWriter) will not play on the 3109.

The remote control has a hidden panel for certain features which I find inconvenient. And it's not the fastest loading player in the world.

But all in all, given the excellent picture and sound quality, and all the the formats (DD/DTS/HDCD) it supports, it is a very good value.

If I had it to do over again, would I buy it? YES.

Summary: SWEET!!!!
Review: I've just recently purchased this and so far I am totally amazed with the awesome features this DVD Player has to offer. I definitely recommend this because for the price you can't beat it. The dual-disc feature is so awesome and if you have a colorstream TV you have lucked out because it offers better picture than S-Video. It also plays HDCD so prepare for the best there is in DVD Player technology!!!!!

Summary: The DVD player that could.
Review: Well I always wanted to try HDCD and this unit was a very inexpensive way for me to do so. I have a pretty high end system and this player really lets through the warmth and low end extension of my HDCD discs. King Crimson In the Wake of Poseidon sounds better than almost anything I've heard recorded today. Tools last album Lateralus is phenomenal!!! I just wish I could get AC/DC re=mastered with HDCD. Hey, is may be simple but is still deserves good quality. They are the best hard rock band in the world you know. I also noted that my regular discs sound . I guess that could be attributed to the superior A/D converter. Not sure and really don't care. This player is able to make my discs sound almost as smooth as my LPs. The remote is too big and isn't very easy to use but the player is worth the money.
